    Continuing advances in space and Earth science requires increasing amounts of data to be gathered from spaceborne sensors. NASA expects to launch sensors during the next two decades which will be capable of producing an aggregate of 1500 Megabits per second if operated simultaneously. Such high data rates cause stresses in all aspects of end-to-end data systems. Technologies and techniques are needed to relieve such stresses. Potential solutions to the massive data rate problems are: data editing, greater transmission bandwidths, higher density and faster media, and data compression. Through four subpanels on Science Payload Operations, Multispectral Imaging, Microwave Remote Sensing and Science Data Management, recommendations were made for research in data compression and scientific data applications to space platforms

    Presented on February 7, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Klaus Advanced Computing Building, Room 2405.Didier Contis is the Director of Technology Services for the College of Engineering (CoE) - Georgia Tech.David Joyner is a Senior Research Associate and Associate Director of Student Experience in Georgia Tech's College of Computing. His research focuses on online education and learning at scale, especially as they intersect with for-credit offerings at the graduate and undergraduate levels.Blair MacIntyre is a Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he has directed the Augmented Environments Lab since 1999. His research focuses on developing the potential of augmented reality as a novel technology and new medium for games, entertainment, education and work.Miroslav Malesevic is a digital designer and a researcher at the IMAGINE Lab and at the Center for GIS. He graduated from college of Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Belgrade, Serbia. Prior to joining the IMAGINE Lab, Mr. Malesevic was a 3D and visual effects artist working on various projects varying from architectural visualization to movies.Noah Posner is a research scientist with the IMAGINE Lab and lab manager of the Interactive Product Design Lab (IPDL). His focus is on creating interactive experiences that leverage physical interaction.Matthew Swarts is a member of the research faculty in the College of Architecture.
