ABSTRACT Wireless sensor networks consist of small nodes with sensing, computation, and wireless communications capabilities. The purpose of the network is to sense the environment and report what happens in the area it is deployed in. The sensor networks can be used for various application areas (e.g., health, military, home) Moreover, most of the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applications render it impossible to charge or replace the battery of sensor nodes. Therefore, optimal use of node energy is a major challenge in wireless sensor networks to enhance the lifetime of whole network. Clustering of sensor nodes is an effective method to use the node energy optimally and prolong the lifetime of energy constrained wireless sensor network. .In the paper we give out the survey of clustering solution to lifetime maximization in wireless sensor network. In this paper we also points out the open research issues and intends to spark new interests and developments in this field

Dealing with Heterogeneity in a Fully Reliable Multicast Protocol

Many of the proposed multicast congestion avoidance algorithms are single-rate where heterogeneity is accommodated by adjusting the transmission rate as a response to the worst receiver in the group. Due to the Internet heterogeneity, a single-rate congestion co ntrol affects the overall satisfaction of the receivers in a multicast session. In this paper, we propose a multi-rate replicated scheme where some receivers (instead of the source) are designated to perform data replication for other receivers with lower capacity. To be more scalable and to minimize the bandwidth consumption due to data replication, the partitioning algorithm is per- formed on-the-fly by the routers depending on the feedback they receive. Neither a prior estimation of the receivers capacity is necessary nor a complex computation is required to execute our partitioning algorithm

Adaptive Active Queue Management based on Queue Ratio of Set-point Weighting

Presently, active queue management (AQM) is one of the important considerations in communication networks. The challenge is to make it simple and robust in bursty traffic and uncertain network conditions. This paper proposes a new AQM scheme, an adaptive ratio proportional integral (ARPI), for adaptively controlling network congestion in dynamic network traffic conditions. First, AQM was designed by adding a set-point weighting structure to a proportional integral (PI) controller to reduce the burstiness of network traffic. Second, an adaptive set-point weighting based on the ratio of instantaneous queue length to the set-point queue and the buffer size was proposed to improve the robustness of a non-linear network. The proposed design integrates the aforementioned expectations into one function and needs only one parameter change to adapt to fluctuating network condition. Hence, this scheme provides lightweight computation and simple software and hardware implementation. This approach was analyzed and compared with the PI AQM scheme. Evaluation results demonstrated that our proposed AQM can regulate queue length with a fast response, good stability under any traffic conditions, and small queuing delay

Continuous applications made a requirement for system Quality of Service (QoS). This significance prompted the improvement of self-sufficient systems that utilization versatile bundle directing with the end goal to give the most ideal QoS. Affirmation Control (AC) is a system which makes those systems a pace further in ensuring bundle conveyance even under strict QoS imperatives. QoS all through the time of every single acknowledged association in the system. The effect that the new call will have, on the QoS of both the new and the current clients, is assessed by sending test parcels and checking the systems. The choice of whether to acknowledge another call is made utilizing a novel math of QoS measurements, encourage by Warshall's calculation, which searches for a way with adequate QoS values that can oblige the new stream. The fundamental scientific standards and present trial results acquired by assessing the strategy in an expansive research center proving ground working the Self-Aware Cognitive Packet Network (CPN) convention
