Relatório de estágio curricular na Blueclinical, LDA
Mestrado em Biomedicina FarmacêuticaO presente relatório descreve com detalhe o meu período de estágio curricular realizado durante o Mestrado em Biomedicina Farmacêutica.
O estágio teve a duração de 9 meses e ocorreu na Blueclinical Lda., uma empresa constituída por três unidades de negócio distintas: Unidade de Fase I, Unidade de Investigação e Desenvolvimento e uma Unidade de Parceria com Centros de Ensaio - Clinical Research Partnership (CRP).
A minha atividade foi desenvolvida apenas numa unidade de negócio – CRP. No entanto tive oportunidade de conhecer duas realidades distintas, exercendo funções num centro de ensaio como coordenadora de ensaios clínicos e funções na Blueclinical Back Office, com funções de apoio à unidade CRP, essencialmente na gestão de contratos financeiros e pagamentos.
Neste relatório é revisto o estado de arte da investigação clínica e são descritas as principais atividades realizadas durante o estágio. São igualmente relatadas, as principais dificuldades sentidas, as estratégias utilizadas para as ultrapassar e objetivos que considero alcançados.
A realização deste estágio foi uma excelente oportunidade que me permitiu consolidar os conteúdos teóricos adquiridos durante o primeiro ano do mestrado, obtendo a experiência necessária para ingressar no mundo de trabalho da Investigação Clínica.The present report describes in detail my internship period, during the Master in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
The internship lasted 9 months and was performed in Blueclinical Ltd., a company that has three business units: Phase I Unit, Research and Development Unit and Clinical Research Partnership Unit (CRP).
My activities were performed in only one business unit - CRP, however I had the opportunity to experience two different realities, exercising functions as Clinical Research Coordinator at site and support functions at Blueclinical Back office, mainly contract management and payment tracking.
This report reviews state of art of clinical research and describes main activities performed during internship. Along with the description of the activities performed, it is done a presentation of the difficulties encountered, strategies used to overcome them and objectives I considered achieved.
This internship was a great opportunity that allowed me to consolidate theoretical knowledge acquired during the first year of the master, giving me the necessary experience to cross into Clinical Research job marke
Training of Crisis Mappers and Map Production from Multi-sensor Data: Vernazza Case Study (Cinque Terre National Park, Italy)
This aim of paper is to presents the development of a multidisciplinary project carried out by the cooperation between Politecnico di Torino and ITHACA (Information Technology for Humanitarian Assistance, Cooperation and Action). The goal of the project was the training in geospatial data acquiring and processing for students attending Architecture and Engineering Courses, in order to start up a team of "volunteer mappers". Indeed, the project is aimed to document the environmental and built heritage subject to disaster; the purpose is to improve the capabilities of the actors involved in the activities connected in geospatial data collection, integration and sharing. The proposed area for testing the training activities is the Cinque Terre National Park, registered in the World Heritage List since 1997. The area was affected by flood on the 25th of October 2011. According to other international experiences, the group is expected to be active after emergencies in order to upgrade maps, using data acquired by typical geomatic methods and techniques such as terrestrial and aerial Lidar, close-range and aerial photogrammetry, topographic and GNSS instruments etc.; or by non conventional systems and instruments such us UAV, mobile mapping etc. The ultimate goal is to implement a WebGIS platform to share all the data collected with local authorities and the Civil Protectio

A systematic approach for the analysis, design and implementation of Telecommunications-Supported Training (TST) systems
The objetive of the present thesis is to develop and test out a systematic approach to the analysis, design and implementation of Telecommunications-Supported Training (TST) systems. The Literature Review offers a set of approaches to similar problems in the field of Information Systems. Several other disciplines have also been considered: Psychology of Human Factors, Organizational and Innovation Theory, and applied research being currently carried out under the EU DELTA Programme.
A global User-Centred Model of TST has been developed, based on the wellestablished principles of Systems Engineering and Soft Systems Methodology. The theoretical basis for this model is the concept of TST Architecture, conceived as a functional arrangement of technical components which are introduced in order to improve the performance of the actors involved in the system. The other key aspect is the design of a set of Adoption Strategies, aiming for the creation of the necessary conditions to achieve user acceptance of the technologies implemented. Following these principles, the ADAM (Architectural Design and Adoption Model) systematic approach is developed. It is structured in five stages: Context Analysis, System Analysis, System Design, System Implementation and System Maintenance. Each stage is structured into steps and activities, described in terms of key points, outcomes, deliverables, and roles involved.
The ADAM approach has been tested out in its twofold dimension of analyzing already implemented TST systems and designing new ones. The first case discusses the application of ADAM to the EU Multimedia TeleSchool (MTS) TST system. The test is completed by discussing the design and implementation, performed by the author, of a TST system at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid.
The results confirm the usefulness of ADAM both for practitioners and researchers in the field. Also, the TST model is extended as regards the components of acceptance and adoption, and their impact on the introduction of technologies in organizations
Mission-Critical Communications from LMR to 5G: a Technology Assessment approach for Smart City scenarios
Radiocommunication networks are one of the main support tools of agencies that carry out
actions in Public Protection & Disaster Relief (PPDR), and it is necessary to update these
communications technologies from narrowband to broadband and integrated to information
technologies to have an effective action before society. Understanding that this problem
includes, besides the technical aspects, issues related to the social context to which these
systems are inserted, this study aims to construct scenarios, using several sources of
information, that helps the managers of the PPDR agencies in the technological decisionmaking

Air Traffic Management Abbreviation Compendium
As in all fields of work, an unmanageable number of abbreviations are used today in aviation for terms, definitions, commands, standards and technical descriptions. This applies in general to the areas of aeronautical communication, navigation and surveillance, cockpit and air traffic control working positions, passenger and cargo transport, and all other areas of flight planning, organization and guidance. In addition, many abbreviations are used more than once or have different meanings in different languages.
In order to obtain an overview of the most common abbreviations used in air traffic management, organizations like EUROCONTROL, FAA, DWD and DLR have published lists of abbreviations in the past, which have also been enclosed in this document. In addition, abbreviations from some larger international projects related to aviation have been included to provide users with a directory as complete as possible. This means that the second edition of the Air Traffic Management Abbreviation Compendium includes now around 16,500 abbreviations and acronyms from the field of aviation
Vista D2.1 Supporting Data for Business and Regulatory Scenarios Report
Vista examines the effects of conflicting market forces on European performance in ATM, through the evaluation of impact metrics on four key stakeholders, and the environment. The review of regulatory and business factors is presented. Vista will model the current and future (2035, 2050) framework based on the impact of regulatory and business factors. These factors are obtained from a literature review of regulations, projects and technological and operational changes. The current value of those factors and their possible evolution are captured in this deliverable

The FinTech/InsurTech-based business models are gradually maturing and disrupting the offering and management of financial services (banking, financial and insurance) on the global stage. However, understanding of the risk landscape of the FinTech and InsurTech business models remains at an early stage due to the diverse nature of their activities and the rapid development of the field. Although FinTech and InsurTech offer the opportunity to accelerate economic growth and expand financial affordability/inclusion in all countries, they pose new risks to financial stability and integrity. Capacity development in agricultural research for development
This paper reviews the current policies and programmes of EIARD members in relation to capacity development and makes recommendations on future directions. The main issues and recommendations will be incorporated into a policy brief in which specific policy options or guidelines will be presented. The goal of EIARDs strategy is to reduce poverty (i.e. MDGs); to promote economic growth, food security, and sustainable management of natural resources in developing & emerging economy countries and to contribute to global development issues and knowledge generation. The purpose of this study on capacity development for ARD is to contribute to these objectives by carrying out a broad-scale mapping exercise of current capacity development programmes in EIARD member countries. It identifies some specific initiatives which illustrate different aspects of capacity development and which are representative for a range of different EIARD members. To this end also initiatives from EIARD countries which recently started to support programmes for capacity strengthening in ARD are included
