Time-Varying Input and State Delay Compensation for Uncertain Nonlinear Systems
A robust controller is developed for uncertain, second-order nonlinear
systems subject to simultaneous unknown, time-varying state delays and known,
time-varying input delays in addition to additive, sufficiently smooth
disturbances. An integral term composed of previous control values facilitates
a delay-free open-loop error system and the development of the feedback control
structure. A stability analysis based on Lyapunov-Krasovskii (LK) functionals
guarantees uniformly ultimately bounded tracking under the assumption that the
delays are bounded and slowly varying
Robust synchronization for 2-D discrete-time coupled dynamical networks
This is the post-print version of the Article. The official published version can be accessed from the link below - Copyright @ 2012 IEEEIn this paper, a new synchronization problem is addressed for an array of 2-D coupled dynamical networks. The class of systems under investigation is described by the 2-D nonlinear state space model which is oriented from the well-known Fornasini–Marchesini second model. For such a new 2-D complex network model, both the network dynamics and the couplings evolve in two independent directions. A new synchronization concept is put forward to account for the phenomenon that the propagations of all 2-D dynamical networks are synchronized in two directions with influence from the coupling strength. The purpose of the problem addressed is to first derive sufficient conditions ensuring the global synchronization and then extend the obtained results to more general cases where the system matrices contain either the norm-bounded or the polytopic parameter uncertainties. An energy-like quadratic function is developed, together with the intensive use of the Kronecker product, to establish the easy-to-verify conditions under which the addressed 2-D complex network model achieves global synchronization. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the theoretical results and the effectiveness of the proposed synchronization scheme. This work was supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grants 61028008 and 61174136, the International Science and Technology Cooperation Project of China under

Output-Feedback Control for a Class of Stochastic High-Order Feedforward Nonlinear Systems with Delay
The problem of global output-feedback stabilization for a class of stochastic high-order time-delay feedforward nonlinear systems with different power orders is investigated. By combining the adding one power integrator technique with the homogeneous domination approach, an output-feedback controller design is proposed, which ensures the global asymptotical stability in probability of the closed-loop system
Practical tracking control for stochastic nonlinear systems with polynomial function growth conditions
This paper mainly focuses on an output feedback practical tracking controller design for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems with polynomial function growth conditions. Mostly, there are some studies on an output feedback tracking control problem for general nonlinear systems with polynomial function growth conditions in existing achievements. Moreover, we extend it to stochastic nonlinear systems and construct an output feedback practical tracking controller based on dynamic and static phase combined, ensuring that all the states of the stochastic nonlinear system are bounded and the system tracking error can be made arbitrarily small after some large enough time. Finally, a simulation example is provided to illustrate the efficiency of the theoretical results
Global Stabilization of High-Order Time-Delay Nonlinear Systems under a Weaker Condition
Under the weaker condition on the system growth, this paper further investigates the problem of global stabilization by state feedback for a class of high-order nonlinear systems with time-varying delays. By skillfully using the homogeneous domination approach, a continuous state feedback controller is successfully designed, which preserves the equilibrium at the origin and guarantees the global asymptotic stability of the resulting closed-loop system. A simulation example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design procedure
Adaptive NN output-feedback control for stochastic time-delay nonlinear systems with unknown control coefficients and perturbations
This paper addresses the problem of adaptive output-feedback control for more general class of stochastic time-varying delay nonlinear systems with unknown control coefficients and perturbations. By using Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, backstepping and tuning function technique, a novel adaptive neural network (NN) output-feedback controller is constructed with fewer learning parameters. The designed controller guarantees that all the signals in the closed-loop system are 4-moment (or mean square) semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded (SGUUB). Finally, a simulation example is shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme
A robust LMI approach on nonlinear feedback stabilization of continuous state-delay systems with Lipschitzian nonlinearities : experimental validation
This paper suggests a novel nonlinear state-fe edback stabilization control law using linear matrix inequalities for a class oftime-delayed nonlinear dynamic systems with Lipschitz nonlinearity conditions. Based on the Lyapunov–Krasovskiistability theory, the asymptotic stabilization criterion is derived in the linear matrix inequality form and the coef¿cients ofthe nonlinear state-feedback controller are determined. Meanwhile, an appropriate criterion to ¿nd the proper feedbackgain matrix F is also provided. The robustness purpose against nonlinear functions and time delays is guaranteed in thisscheme. Moreover , the problem of robust H!performance analysis for a class of nonlinear time-delayed system s withexternal disturbance is studied in this paper. Simulations are presented to demonstrate the pro¿ciency of the offeredtechnique. For this purpos e, an unstable nonlinear numerical system and a rotary inverted pendulum system have beenstudied in the simulation section. Moreover, an experimental study of the practical rotary inverted pendul um system isprovided. These results con¿rm the expected satisfactory performance of the suggested method.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
