Text Classification Using Association Rules, Dependency Pruning and Hyperonymization
We present new methods for pruning and enhancing item- sets for text
classification via association rule mining. Pruning methods are based on
dependency syntax and enhancing methods are based on replacing words by their
hyperonyms of various orders. We discuss the impact of these methods, compared
to pruning based on tfidf rank of words.Comment: 16 pages, 2 figures, presented at DMNLP 201
Firms' strategies and voluntary traceability: an empirical analysis in Italian food chains
In international food markets, voluntary traceability systems have increased their role in guaranteeing high safety and quality standards for the consumer. Such systems are also among the strategies firms employ to differentiate products and strengthen competitive advantage in both the national and international market. Voluntary traceability has significant implications on the organisation of economic relationships within food supply chains. This paper focuses on this aspect and analyses the effects of voluntary traceability on vertical co- ordination using a transaction cost perspective. The analysis makes reference to the Italian situation where the national standard organisation has introduced standard rules for voluntary traceability (UNI 10939; ISO 22005 at the international level). A survey was conducted by questionnaire to assess changes in transaction key factors (degree of asset specificity, uncertainty and frequency) and transaction costs after the introduction of voluntary traceability. The sample represent s all Italian firms certified UNI 10939, and consists of 190 firms. Respondents are 146. Factorial and Cluster Analyses were applied to highlight groups of firms with similar features. The empirical results reveal four different clusters in terms of a vertical reorganisation of transactions.traceability, firms' strategies, transaction cost economics, food chain, Food Consumption/Nutrition/Food Safety, Industrial Organization,

Structuring the process of integrity maintenance (extended version)
Two different approaches have been traditionally considered for dealing with the process of integrity constraints
enforcement: integrity checking and integrity maintenance. However, while previous research in the first approach has
mainly addressed efficiency issues, research in the second approach has been mainly concentrated in being able to
generate all possible repairs that falsify an integrity constraint violation. In this paper we address efficiency issues during
the process of integrity maintenance. In this sense, we propose a technique which improves efficiency of existing methods
by defining the order in which maintenance of integrity constraints should be performed. Moreover, we use also this
technique for being able to handle in an integrated way the integrity constraintsPostprint (published version
Toward Semantics-aware Representation of Digital Business Processes
An extended enterprise (EE) can be described by a set of models each representing a specific aspect of the EE.
Aspects can for example be the process flow or the value description. However, different models are done by different
people, which may use different terminology, which prevents relating the models. Therefore, we propose a framework
consisting of process flow and value aspects and in addition a static domain model with structural and relational
components. Further, we outline the usage of the static domain model to enable relating the different aspects
