RRAM variability and its mitigation schemes
Emerging technologies such as RRAMs are attracting significant attention due to their tempting characteristics such as high scalability, CMOS compatibility and non-volatility to replace the current conventional memories. However, critical causes of hardware reliability failures, such as process variation due to their nano-scale structure have gained considerable importance for acceptable memory yields. Such vulnerabilities make it essential to investigate new robust design strategies at the circuit system level. In this paper we have analyzed the RRAM variability phenomenon, its impact and variation tolerant techniques at the circuit level. JENTIL: responsive clothing that promotes an ‘holistic approach to fashion as a new vehicle to treat psychological conditions’
This paper explores an ongoing interdisciplinary research project at the cutting edge of sensory, aroma and medical work, which seeks to change the experience of fragrance to a more intimate communication of identity, by employing emerging technologies with the ancient art of perfumery. The project illustrates .holistic' clothing called the JENTIL® Collection, following on from the Author’s SmartSecondSkin' PhD research, which describes a new movement in functional, emotional clothing that incorporates scent.
The project investigates the emergent interface between the arts and biomedical sciences, around new emerging technologies and science platforms, and their applications in the domain of health and well-being. The JENTIL® Collection focuses on the development of .gentle., responsive clothing that changes with emotion, since the garments are designed for psychological end benefit to reduce stress. This is achieved by studying the mind and advancing knowledge and understanding of how known well-being fragrances embedded in holistic Fashion, could impact on mental health.
This paper aims to combine applied theories about human well-being, with multisensory design, in order to create experimental strategies to improve self and social confidence for individuals suffering from depressive illnesses. The range of methodologies employed extends beyond the realm of fashion and textile techniques, to areas such as neuroscience, psychiatry, human sensory systems and affective states, and the increase in popularity of complementary therapies. In this paper the known affective potential of the sense of smell is discussed, by introducing Aroma-Chology as a tool that is worn as an emotional support system to create a personal scent bubble. around the body, with the capacity to regulate mood, physiological and psychological state and improve self-confidence in social situations. The clothing formulates a healing platform around the wearer, by creating novel olfactory experiences in textiles that are not as passive as current microencapsulated capsule systems generally are
X-SRAM: Enabling In-Memory Boolean Computations in CMOS Static Random Access Memories
Silicon-based Static Random Access Memories (SRAM) and digital Boolean logic
have been the workhorse of the state-of-art computing platforms. Despite
tremendous strides in scaling the ubiquitous metal-oxide-semiconductor
transistor, the underlying \textit{von-Neumann} computing architecture has
remained unchanged. The limited throughput and energy-efficiency of the
state-of-art computing systems, to a large extent, results from the well-known
\textit{von-Neumann bottleneck}. The energy and throughput inefficiency of the
von-Neumann machines have been accentuated in recent times due to the present
emphasis on data-intensive applications like artificial intelligence, machine
learning \textit{etc}. A possible approach towards mitigating the overhead
associated with the von-Neumann bottleneck is to enable \textit{in-memory}
Boolean computations. In this manuscript, we present an augmented version of
the conventional SRAM bit-cells, called \textit{the X-SRAM}, with the ability
to perform in-memory, vector Boolean computations, in addition to the usual
memory storage operations. We propose at least six different schemes for
enabling in-memory vector computations including NAND, NOR, IMP (implication),
XOR logic gates with respect to different bit-cell topologies the 8T cell
and the 8T Differential cell. In addition, we also present a novel
\textit{`read-compute-store'} scheme, wherein the computed Boolean function can
be directly stored in the memory without the need of latching the data and
carrying out a subsequent write operation. The feasibility of the proposed
schemes has been verified using predictive transistor models and Monte-Carlo

The Landscape of Academic Literature in Quantum Technologies
In this study, we investigated the academic literature on quantum
technologies (QT) using bibliometric tools. We used a set of 49,823 articles
obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database using a search query
constructed through expert opinion. Analysis of this revealed that QT is deeply
rooted in physics, and the majority of the articles are published in physics
journals. Keyword analysis revealed that the literature could be clustered into
three distinct sets, which are (i) quantum communication/cryptography, (ii)
quantum computation, and (iii) physical realizations of quantum systems. We
performed a burst analysis that showed the emergence and fading away of certain
key concepts in the literature. This is followed by co-citation analysis on the
highly cited articles provided by the WoS, using these we devised a set of core
corpus of 34 publications. Comparing the most highly cited articles in this set
with respect to the initial set we found that there is a clear difference in
most cited subjects. Finally, we performed co-citation analyses on country and
organization levels to find the central nodes in the literature. Overall, the
analyses of the datasets allowed us to cluster the literature into three
distinct sets, construct the core corpus of the academic literature in QT, and
to identify the key players on country and organization levels, thus offering
insight into the current state of the field. Search queries and access to
