Wasserstein distance-based probabilistic linguistic TODIM method with application to the evaluation of sustainable rural tourism potential
The evaluation of sustainable rural tourism potential is a key work
in sustainable rural tourism development. Due to the complexity
of the rural tourism development situation and the limited cognition of people, most of the assessment problems for sustainable
rural tourism potential are highly uncertain, which brings challenges to the characterisation and measurement of evaluation
information. Besides, decision-makers (DMs) usually do not exhibit
complete rationality in the practical evaluation process. To tackle
such problems, this paper proposes a new behaviour multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) method with probabilistic
linguistic terms sets (PLTSs) by integrating Wasserstein distance
measure into TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese of interactive
and multicriteria decision making) method. Firstly, a new
Wasserstein-based distance measure with PLTSs is defined, and
some properties of the proposed distance are developed.
Secondly, based on the correlation coefficient among attributes
and standard deviation of each attribute, an attribute weight
determination method (called PL-CRITIC method) is proposed.
Subsequently, a Wasserstein distance-based probabilistic linguistic
TODIM method is developed. Finally, the proposed method is
applied to the evaluation of sustainable rural tourism potential,
along with sensitivity and comparative analyses, as a means of
illustrating the effectiveness and advantages of the new method
A systematic review on multi-criteria group decision-making methods based on weights: analysis and classification scheme
Interest in group decision-making (GDM) has been increasing prominently over the last decade. Access to global databases, sophisticated sensors which can obtain multiple inputs or complex problems requiring opinions from several experts have driven interest in data aggregation. Consequently, the field has been widely studied from several viewpoints and multiple approaches have been proposed. Nevertheless, there is a lack of general framework. Moreover, this problem is exacerbated in the case of experts’ weighting methods, one of the most widely-used techniques to deal with multiple source aggregation. This lack of general classification scheme, or a guide to assist expert knowledge, leads to ambiguity or misreading for readers, who may be overwhelmed by the large amount of unclassified information currently available. To invert this situation, a general GDM framework is presented which divides and classifies all data aggregation techniques, focusing on and expanding the classification of experts’ weighting methods in terms of analysis type by carrying out an in-depth literature review. Results are not only classified but analysed and discussed regarding multiple characteristics, such as MCDMs in which they are applied, type of data used, ideal solutions considered or when they are applied. Furthermore, general requirements supplement this analysis such as initial influence, or component division considerations. As a result, this paper provides not only a general classification scheme and a detailed analysis of experts’ weighting methods but also a road map for researchers working on GDM topics or a guide for experts who use these methods. Furthermore, six significant contributions for future research pathways are provided in the conclusions. The first author acknowledges support from the Spanish Ministry of Universities [grant number FPU18/01471]. Algorithms for probabilistic uncertain linguistic multiple attribute group decision making based on the GRA and CRITIC method: application to location planning of electric vehicle charging stations
Electric vehicles (EVs) could be regarded as one of the most
innovative and high technologies all over the world to cope with
the fossil fuel energy resource crisis and environmental pollution
issues. As the initiatory task of EV charging station (EVCS) construction,
site selection play an important part throughout the
whole life cycle, which is deemed to be multiple attribute group
decision making (MAGDM) problem involving many experts and
many conflicting attributes. In this paper, a grey relational analysis
(GRA) method is investigated to tackle the probabilistic uncertain
linguistic MAGDM in which the attribute weights are completely
unknown information. Firstly, the definition of the expected value
is then employed to objectively derive the attribute weights
based on the CRiteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation
(CRITIC) method. Then, the optimal alternative is chosen by calculating
largest relative relational degree from the probabilistic
uncertain linguistic positive ideal solution (PULPIS) which considers
both the largest grey relational coefficient from the PULPIS and the
smallest grey relational coefficient from the probabilistic uncertain
linguistic negative ideal solution (PULNIS). Finally, a numerical
case for site selection of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) is
designed to illustrate the proposed method. The result shows the
approach is simple, effective and easy to calculate
Generalized Hamacher aggregation operators for intuitionistic uncertain linguistic sets: Multiple attribute group decision making methods
© 2019 by the authors. In this paper, we consider multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems in which the attribute values take the form of intuitionistic uncertain linguistic variables. Based on Hamacher operations, we developed several Hamacher aggregation operators, which generalize the arithmetic aggregation operators and geometric aggregation operators, and extend the algebraic aggregation operators and Einstein aggregation operators. A number of special cases for the two operators with respect to the parameters are discussed in detail. Also, we developed an intuitionistic uncertain linguistic generalized Hamacher hybrid weighted average operator to reflect the importance degrees of both the given intuitionistic uncertain linguistic variables and their ordered positions. Based on the generalized Hamacher aggregation operator, we propose a method for MAGDM for intuitionistic uncertain linguistic sets. Finally, a numerical example and comparative analysis with related decision making methods are provided to illustrate the practicality and feasibility of the proposed method
Distributed Linguistic Representations in Decision Making: Taxonomy, Key Elements and Applications, and Challenges in Data Science and Explainable Artificial Intelligence
Distributed linguistic representations are powerful tools for modelling the uncertainty and complexity of preference information in linguistic decision making. To provide a comprehensive perspective on the development of distributed linguistic representations in decision making, we present the taxonomy of existing distributed linguistic representations. Then, we review the key elements and applications of distributed linguistic information processing in decision making, including the distance measurement, aggregation methods, distributed linguistic preference relations, and distributed linguistic multiple attribute decision making models. Next, we provide a discussion on ongoing challenges and future research directions from the perspective of data science and explainable artificial intelligence.National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) 71971039

Research Agenda on Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making: New Academic Debates in Business and Management
[EN] Systemic disruptions are becoming more continuous, intense, and persistent. Their effects have a severe impact on the economy in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environments that are increasingly transversal to productive sectors and activities. Researchers have intensified their academic production of multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) in recent years. This article analyzes the research agenda through a systematic review of scientific articles in the Web of Science Core Collection according to the Journal Citation Report (JCR), both in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). According to the selected search criteria, 909 articles on MCDM published between 1979 and 2022 in Web of Science journals in the business and management categories were located. A bibliometric analysis of the main thematic clusters, the international collaboration networks, and the bibliographic coupling of articles was carried out. In addition, the analysis period is divided into two subperiods (1979¿2008 and 2009¿2022), establishing 2008 as the threshold, the year of the Global Financial Crisis (GFC), to assess the evolution of the research agenda at the beginning of systemic disruptions. The bibliometric analysis allows the identification of the motor, basic, specialized, and emerging themes of each subperiod. The results show the similarities and differences between the academic debate before and after the GFC. The evidence found allows academics to be guided in their high-impact research in business and management using MCDM methodologies to address contemporary challenges. An important contribution of this study is to detect gaps in the literature, highlighting unclosed gaps and emerging trends in the field of study for journal editors.Castello-Sirvent, F.; Meneses-Eraso, C. Fuzzy Systems in Business Valuation
This research aims to develop a model that is able to integrate and objectify information provided by
the different business valuation methods, incorporating quality management in its formal approach,
which to date has not been considered in the literature about business valuation or quality
management. Firstly, the company is valued using the methods which best adapt to its specific
characteristics. Because of the subjectivity inherent in any valuation process, the results will be
expressed through Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFN). These Fuzzy Numbers will be aggregated and
summarized by applying Basic Defuzzification Distribution Uncertain Probabilistic Ordered
Weighted Averaging operator (BADD-UPOWA). The weighting factors will be: the degree of
confidence in each of the business valuation methods applied, and the innovative use of the
company’s position on Crosby’s Quality Administration Grid. The results from application of the
model in a case study show a significant reduction in uncertainty in contrast to the initial valuations.
Moreover, the proposed methodology is seen to increase the final value of the company as its
advances in quality management
Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power aggregation operators in multiple attribute decision making
In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute decision making
problems with Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic information.
Then, we utilize power average and power geometric operations
to develop some Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power aggregation
operators: Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power weighted
average (P2TLPWA) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power
weighted geometric (P2TLPWG) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic
power ordered weighted average (P2TLPOWA) operator,
Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power ordered weighted geometric
(P2TLPOWG) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power
hybrid average (P2TLPHA) operator and Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic
power hybrid geometric (P2TLPHG) operator. The prominent
characteristic of these proposed operators are studied. Then,
we have utilized these operators to develop some approaches to
solve the Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic multiple attribute decision
making problems. Finally, a practical example for enterprise
resource planning (ERP) system selection is given to verify the
developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and
effectiveness
