Recent developments in audio watermarking techniques have gone some way towards promoting an industry-wide acceptance of digital audio watermarking as a process that will eventually be used in all audio (and video) production. The predominant focus of such watermarking research has been in the area of content protection, because the prevention of illegal copying is an area of concern for content owners. However, digital audio watermarking may also be used for other purposes, such as the added-value option of real-time content identification of music. While computer-based users of music enjoy the opportunity to identify unknown audio using online tools, identification of audio in an offline domestic or in-car scenario is not so easily achieved. This paper discusses with an area of digital audio watermarking that would facilitate real-time in-car identification of the artists, title and/or other meta-data relating to music being broadcast by radio

Digital Audio Watermarking using EMD for Voice Message Encryption with Added Security

Several accurate watermarking methods for image watermarking have being suggested and implemented to secure various forms of digital data, images and videos however, very few algorithms are proposed for audio watermarking. This is also because human audio system has dynamic range which is wider in comparison with human vision system. In this paper, a new audio watermarking algorithm for voice message encryption based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is introduced. The audio signal is divided into frames and each frame is then decomposed adaptively, by EMD, into intrinsic oscillatory components called Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs). The watermark, which is the secret message that is to be sent, along with the synchronization codes are embedded into the extrema of the last IMF, a low frequency mode stable under different attacks and preserving the perceptual quality of the host signal. Based on exhaustive simulations, we show the robustness of the hidden watermark for audio compression, false decryption, re-quantization, resampling. The comparison analysis shows that our method has better performance than other steganography schemes recently reported

This thesis discusses about digital audio watermarking by employing psychoacoustic model to make the watermarked signal inaudible to the audience. Due to the digital media data able to distribute easily without losing of data information, thus the intellectual property of musical creators and distributor may affected by this kind of circumstance . To prevent this, we propose the usage of spread spectrum technique and psychoacoustic model for embedding process, zero-forcing equalization and detection and wiener filtering for extracting process. Three samples of audio signal have been chosen for this experiment which are categorized as quiet, moderate, and noise state signal. The findings shows that our watermarking scheme achieved the intended purposes which are to test digital audio watermarking by employing psychoacoustic model, to embed different length of messages to test on accuracy of extracted data and to study the suitability on using hash function for verification of modification attacks

The recent growth in pc networks, and a lot of specifically, the planet Wide internet, copyright protection of digital audio becomes a lot of and a lot of necessary. Digital audio watermarking has drawn in depth attention for copyright protection of audio information. A digital audio watermarking may be a method of embedding watermarks into audio signal to point out genuineness and possession. Our technique supported the embedding watermark into audio signal and extraction of watermark sequence. We tend to propose a brand new watermarking system victimization separate Fourier remodel (DFT) for audio copyright protection. The watermarks area unit embedded into the best outstanding peak of the magnitude spectrum of every non-overlapping frame. This watermarking system can provides robust lustiness against many styles of attacks like noise addition, cropping, re-sampling, re-quantization, and MP3 compression and achieves similarity values starting from thirteen sound unit to twenty sound unit. Additionally, planned systems attempting to realize SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) values starting from twenty sound unit to twenty-eight sound unit. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15055

New Digital Audio Watermarking Algorithms for Copyright Protection

    Get PDF
This thesis investigates the development of digital audio watermarking in addressing issues such as copyright protection. Over the past two decades, many digital watermarking algorithms have been developed, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The main aim of this thesis was to develop a new watermarking algorithm within an existing Fast Fourier Transform framework. This resulted in the development of a Complex Spectrum Phase Evolution based watermarking algorithm. In this new implementation, the embedding positions were generated dynamically thereby rendering it more difficult for an attacker to remove, and watermark information was embedded by manipulation of the spectral components in the time domain thereby reducing any audible distortion. Further improvements were attained when the embedding criteria was based on bin location comparison instead of magnitude, thereby rendering it more robust against those attacks that interfere with the spectral magnitudes. However, it was discovered that this new audio watermarking algorithm has some disadvantages such as a relatively low capacity and a non-consistent robustness for different audio files. Therefore, a further aim of this thesis was to improve the algorithm from a different perspective. Improvements were investigated using an Singular Value Decomposition framework wherein a novel observation was discovered. Furthermore, a psychoacoustic model was incorporated to suppress any audible distortion. This resulted in a watermarking algorithm which achieved a higher capacity and a more consistent robustness. The overall result was that two new digital audio watermarking algorithms were developed which were complementary in their performance thereby opening more opportunities for further research

    Tally Based Digital Audio Watermarking

In this paper, we propose a novel digital audio watermarking system inspired by the tally trade. In ordinary digital audio watermarking, a single stego signal is produced through the embedding process and the hidden message is extracted from the stego signal. In tally-based system we propose, multiple stego signals are tallied to produce and the hidden message which is extracted from the temporally mixed signal composed of the required number of stego tallies. When the extractor can’t mix the required number of stego tallies, it misses the hidden message. The system’s performances are evaluated in terms of the number of tallies (shares).Proceedings of the Thirteenth International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, August, 12-15, 2017, Matsue, Shimane, Japan, Part

The watermark and the synchronization codes are embedded into the extrema of the last IMF, a low frequency mode stable under different attacks and preserving audio perceptual quality of the host signal. The data embedding rate of the proposed algorithm is 46.9–50.3 b/s. Relying on exhaustive simulations, we show the robustness of the hidden watermark for additive noise, MP3 compression, re-quantization, filtering, cropping and resampling. The comparison analysis shows that our method has better performance than watermarking schemes reported recently
