Digital communication system
A digital communication system is reported for parallel operation of 16 or more transceiver units with the use of only four interconnecting wires. A remote synchronization circuit produces unit address control words sequentially in data frames of 16 words. Means are provided in each transceiver unit to decode calling signals and to transmit calling and data signals. The transceivers communicate with each other over one data line. The synchronization unit communicates the address control information to the transceiver units over an address line and further provides the timing information over a clock line. A reference voltage level or ground line completes the interconnecting four wire hookup

Comparison analysis of stream cipher algorithms for digital communication
The broadcast nature of radio communication such as in the HF (High Frequency) spectrum exposes the transmitted information to unauthorized third parties. Confidentiality is ensured by employing cipher system. For bulk transmission of data, stream ciphers are ideal choices over block ciphers due to faster implementation speed and not introducing error propagation. The stream cipher algorithms evaluated are based on the linear feedback shift register (LFSR) with nonlinear combining function. By using a common key length and worst case conditions, the strength of several stream cipher algorithms are evaluated using statistical tests, correlation attack, linear complexity profile and nonstandard test. The best algorithm is the one that exceeds all of the tests

Convolutional codes and recursive signal processing for digital communication
Statistical mechanical analysis of the linear vector channel in digital communication
A statistical mechanical framework to analyze linear vector channel models in
digital wireless communication is proposed for a large system. The framework is
a generalization of that proposed for code-division multiple-access systems in
Europhys. Lett. 76 (2006) 1193 and enables the analysis of the system in which
the elements of the channel transfer matrix are statistically correlated with
each other. The significance of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by
assessing the performance of an existing model of multi-input multi-output
communication systems.Comment: 15 pages, 2 figure
