Augmented Reality: Application to In-Vehicle Navigation
Even with today’s technically advanced navigation systems, user experience situations where announcements are difficult to understand and misleading. Augmented reality – the integration of computer generated content into the vehicle surrounding – can provide an intuitive and unambiguous way to communicate navigation information; it can even serve as a novel user interface that allows interaction with the surrounding. In this paper, challenges, constraints, and possible solutions for AR in-vehicle applications are discussed. Details of the technical and design decisions of the “first in-vehicle augmented video system” are explained, as well as features and possible future upgrades.  
From Manual Driving to Automated Driving: A Review of 10 Years of AutoUI
This paper gives an overview of the ten-year devel- opment of the papers presented at the International ACM Conference on Automotive User Interfaces and Interactive Vehicular Applications (AutoUI) from 2009 to 2018. We categorize the topics into two main groups, namely, manual driving-related research and automated driving-related re- search. Within manual driving, we mainly focus on studies on user interfaces (UIs), driver states, augmented reality and head-up displays, and methodology; Within automated driv- ing, we discuss topics, such as takeover, acceptance and trust, interacting with road users, UIs, and methodology. Development of Human-Computer Interactive Interface for Intelligent Automotive
The wide application of information technology and network technology in automobiles has made great changes in the Human-computer interaction. This paper studies the influence of Human-computer interaction modes on driving safety, comfort and efficiency based on physical interaction, touch screen control interaction, augmented reality, speech interaction and somatosensory interaction. The future Human-com-puter interaction modes such as multi-channel Human-computer interaction mode and Human-computer interaction mode based on biometrics and perception techno-logy are also discussed. At last, the method of automobile Human-computer interaction design based on the existing technology is proposed, which has certain guiding significance for the current automobile Human-computer interaction interface design
Business Case and Technology Analysis for 5G Low Latency Applications
A large number of new consumer and industrial applications are likely to
change the classic operator's business models and provide a wide range of new
markets to enter. This article analyses the most relevant 5G use cases that
require ultra-low latency, from both technical and business perspectives. Low
latency services pose challenging requirements to the network, and to fulfill
them operators need to invest in costly changes in their network. In this
sense, it is not clear whether such investments are going to be amortized with
these new business models. In light of this, specific applications and
requirements are described and the potential market benefits for operators are
analysed. Conclusions show that operators have clear opportunities to add value
and position themselves strongly with the increasing number of services to be
