Are Groups more Rational than Individuals? A Review of Interactive Decision Making in Groups
Many decisions are interactive; the outcome of one party depends not only on its decisions or on acts of nature but also on the decisions of others. In the present article, we review the literature on decision making made by groups of the past 25 years. Researchers have compared the strategic behavior of groups and individuals in many games: prisoner’s dilemma, dictator, ultimatum, trust, centipede and principal-agent games, among others. Our review suggests that results are quite consistent in revealing that groups behave closer to the game-theoretical assumption of rationality and selfishness than individuals. 176 p.Esta tesis presenta tres estudios sobre teorĂa de juegos del comportamiento, estudiando las desviaciones del comportamiento racional, utilizando tĂ©cnicas experimentales y economĂ©tricas.El primer capĂtulo estudia el comportamiento en el juego del ciempiĂ©s, juego con gran interĂ©s y tradiciĂłn en economĂa. Para ello tiene en cuenta mĂşltiples modelos de comportamiento y gracias a un novedoso diseño intenta discernir cuál es el más relevante a la hora de explicar y predecir el comportamiento. El estudio concluye que mayoritariamente el comportamiento es explicado por el fallo del conocimiento comĂşn de la racionalidad, y que además no hay uno si no varios modelos que explican distintas proporciones de la poblaciĂłn, lo cual explica la literatura.El segundo capĂtulo evalĂşa la capacidad predictiva de exitosos modelos de comportamiento basados en evitar el arrepentimiento. Los compara de forma teĂłrica y en la literatura con otro modelo exitoso basado en el fallo del conocimiento comĂşn de la racionalidad, y concluye este Ăşltimo es el que explica mejor comportamiento atribuido originalmente a los modelos basados en arrepentimiento.El tercer capĂtulo compara el comportamiento en el juego del ciempiĂ©s jugando de forma simultanea o secuencial. What's a face worth: Noneconomic factors in game playing
Where behavior defies economic analysis, one explanation is that individuals consider more than the immediate payoff. We present evidence that noneconomic factors influence behavior. Attractiveness influences offers in the Ultimatum and Dictator Games. Facial resemblance, a cue of relatedness, increases trusting in a two-node trust game. Only by considering the range of possible influences will game-playing behavior be explained

Gender inequality in eSports participation : examining League of Legends
Traditionally, men are considered to have an advantage over women in sports. However, electronic gaming or eSports, where physical attributes are not as necessary, are still divided by gender. ESports is a growing industry. However, despite the fact that computers, game consoles, and even virtual reality technology have been introduced to appeal to genders equally, the majority of players still tend to be men. This research addresses male dominance in the eSports industry and examines strategies to encourage more female participation. Through a grounded theory analysis, this study explores the essential differences between the genders in gaming and introduces solutions for improved recognition of eSports and video games among women.
