Communicating Processes with Data for Supervisory Coordination

We employ supervisory controllers to safely coordinate high-level discrete(-event) behavior of distributed components of complex systems. Supervisory controllers observe discrete-event system behavior, make a decision on allowed activities, and communicate the control signals to the involved parties. Models of the supervisory controllers can be automatically synthesized based on formal models of the system components and a formalization of the safe coordination (control) requirements. Based on the obtained models, code generation can be used to implement the supervisory controllers in software, on a PLC, or an embedded (micro)processor. In this article, we develop a process theory with data that supports a model-based systems engineering framework for supervisory coordination. We employ communication to distinguish between the different flows of information, i.e., observation and supervision, whereas we employ data to specify the coordination requirements more compactly, and to increase the expressivity of the framework. To illustrate the framework, we remodel an industrial case study involving coordination of maintenance procedures of a printing process of a high-tech Oce printer.Comment: In Proceedings FOCLASA 2012, arXiv:1208.432

Diplomová práce popisuje vývojovou techniku model based design a její použití pro návrh a testování algoritmů. Implementace algoritmů je provedena v prostředí Matlab/Simulink s následným testováním na platformě dSpaceThe thesis describes Model Based Design process and it’s application for design and testing of algorithms. The description of this approach is done on example of practical application for development of the Engine Monitoring Module in collaboration with Unis company. The development of the aerospace industry nowadays is focused on continuous monitoring of equipment. The outputs of these algorithms can be used for planning the maintenance with respect to operative modes and conditions. Monitoring algorithms are implemented in Matlab/Simulink environment and are tested on dSpace platform.

Real-time and fault tolerance in distributed control software

Closed loop control systems typically contain multitude of spatially distributed sensors and actuators operated simultaneously. So those systems are parallel and distributed in their essence. But mapping this parallelism onto the given distributed hardware architecture, brings in some additional requirements: safe multithreading, optimal process allocation, real-time scheduling of bus and network resources. Nowadays, fault tolerance methods and fast even online reconfiguration are becoming increasingly important. All those often conflicting requirements, make design and implementation of real-time distributed control systems an extremely difficult task, that requires substantial knowledge in several areas of control and computer science. Although many design methods have been proposed so far, none of them had succeeded to cover all important aspects of the problem at hand. [1] Continuous increase of production in embedded market, makes a simple and natural design methodology for real-time systems needed more then ever

LAGU DOLANAN ANAK ALTERNATIVE SONGS IN TEACHING JAVANESE LANGUAGE FOR CHILDREN

Integrated employment biographies sample IEBS : handbook for the IEBS in the 2008 version

"The IEBS is a random sample drawn from the Integrated Employment Biographies (IEB) of the IAB. The IEB are not to be understood as a self-contained dataset but as a procedure for merging data from four different sources for the purpose of data quality control and for drawing samples such as the IEBS. The four data sources are - the IAB Employee History (BeH) with observations of employment subject to social security taken from the social security notification procedure, - the Benefit Recipient History (LeH) with observations of receipt of unemployment benefit, unemployment assistance and maintenance allowance, - the Participants-in-Measures History File (MTH) with observations of participation in employment and training measures and - the Applicant Pool Data (BewA) with job-search observations. The most important changes compared with the 2005 version of the IEBS are: Updating of the loading status and inclusion of new variables; the variable 'grund' is recoded in the variable spectrum; the missing values are recoded uniformly to the value -7; reforms of district territories in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia result in new district numbers from 2007." Data-Driven Application Maintenance: Views from the Trenches

In this paper we present our experience during design, development, and pilot deployments of a data-driven machine learning based application maintenance solution. We implemented a proof of concept to address a spectrum of interrelated problems encountered in application maintenance projects including duplicate incident ticket identification, assignee recommendation, theme mining, and mapping of incidents to business processes. In the context of IT services, these problems are frequently encountered, yet there is a gap in bringing automation and optimization. Despite long-standing research around mining and analysis of software repositories, such research outputs are not adopted well in practice due to the constraints these solutions impose on the users. We discuss need for designing pragmatic solutions with low barriers to adoption and addressing right level of complexity of problems with respect to underlying business constraints and nature of data.Comment: Earlier version of paper appearing in proceedings of the 4th International Workshop on Software Engineering Research and Industrial Practice (SER&IP), IEEE Press, pp. 48-54, 201

    Sensory Measurements: Coordination and Standardization

    Get PDF
Do sensory measurements deserve the label of “measurement”? We argue that they do. They fit with an epistemological view of measurement held in current philosophy of science, and they face the same kinds of epistemological challenges as physical measurements do: the problem of coordination and the problem of standardization. These problems are addressed through the process of “epistemic iteration,” for all measurements. We also argue for distinguishing the problem of standardization from the problem of coordination. To exemplify our claims, we draw on olfactory performance tests, especially studies linking olfactory decline to neurodegenerative disorders
