Sharing Geoprocessing Workflows with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)

Graphical geoprocessing workflows are often built visually on interactive canvases of GIS software. Such workflows cannot be shared among different software, due to structural and semantical differences. This study experiments with a workflow created for ILWIS software and transforms it into a BPMN process model, exploiting XML serialisations of the two workflows. Ultimately, it aims at contributing to interoperability of geoprocessing workflows, through an extended approach serving as a frame around workflow conversion

Blockchain technology provides basic building blocks to support the execution of collaborative business processes involving mutually untrusted parties in a decentralized environment. Several research proposals have demonstrated the feasibility of designing blockchain-based collaborative business processes using a high-level notation, such as the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), and thereon automatically generating the code artifacts required to execute these processes on a blockchain platform. To this end, we firstly present the concepts of predictive maintenance (PdM), condition-based maintenance (CBM), and their applications to increase awareness of why and how these concepts are revolutionizing the automotive industry. Analisia Dan Pemodelan Proses Bisnis Menggunakan Metode Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) Pada Produksi Shuttlecock

Sebuah perusahaan pasti memiliki tujuan untuk menjadikan segala aspek bisnis menjadi berkembang dan lebih baik. Proses Bisnis merupakan salah satu aspek yang dapat mempengaruhi berkembangnya suatu perusahaan. UD. Sadex Shuttlecock merupakan perusahaan produksi shuttlecock yang berada di Kabupaten Nganjuk, terdapat beberapa proses bisnis pada UD. Sadex Shuttlecock antara lain produksi shuttlecock, penggajian pegawai, transaksi penjualan, penyortiran bahan baku, dan distribusi barang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa dan memodelkan efektifitas dan efisiensi proses bisnis yang berjalan pada UD. Sadex Shuttlecock. Analisa dan pemodelan dilakukan menggunakan metode BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation). Berdasarkan analisa dan pemodelan proses bisnis ditemukan beberapa permasalahan yang dapat menghambat berjalannya tiap proses, lalu peneliti memberikan rekomendasi proses bisnis dengan beberapa pertimbangan untuk pengambilan keputusan, dengan adanya rekomendasi proses bisnis dapat menjadikan UD. Events and Activities: Is there an Ontology behind BPMN?

In the context of business process modelling, the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is a de-facto standard with more than 70 commercial tools that currently support its use. Amongst its main modelling constructs, BPMN includes activities and events. However, the focus of the standard is on providing an intuitive graphical language, rather than formal semantics specifications. This results in semantic ambiguities regarding the interpretation of its modelling constructs. We investigate whether the main building blocks of BPMN commit to an ontological theory of the domain entities at hand, eventually clarifying this commitment by the approach of ontological analysis

Platform Architecture for the Diagram Assessment Domain

Using e-learning and e-assessment environments in higher education bears considerable potential for both students and teachers. In this contribution we present an architecture for a comprehensive e-assessment platform for the modeling domain. The platform – currently developed in the KEA-Mod project – features a micro-service architecture and is based on different inter-operable components. Based on this idea, the KEA-Mod platform will provide e-assessment capabilities for various graph-based modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), EntityRelationship diagrams (ERD), Petri Nets, Event-driven Process Chains (EPC) and the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and their respective diagram types
