Using Metacognition In Learning Mathematics Toward Character Building
The Ministry of National Education (Kemdiknas) plans to implement character education. Mathematics is one subject that has a big influence in preparing the students to be able to think logically, analytically, systematically, critically, and creatively, and have the ability to cooperate, allowing to be given values to build students character. Metacognition is the awareness of cognitive processes. By using metacognition, someone does all the activities with full awareness. When learning mathematics by involving his metacognition, he will be able to observe the relationship between data in the problem with the prior knowledge, to re-examine its accuracy, aswell as solving a complex problem with the simple steps, and asks himself and tries to clarify his opinion. This paper aims to develop learning Mathematics materials that consist of values and involve students metacognition to form a competent human resources and human character, discipline, honest, who perform all acts by full awareness. always make good planning, monitoring and evaluating their action.

National Character Building Through Manners Education Based on Regional Culture of North Sumatra
National character building role is to enhance positive behavior for learners to interact with their environment. Manners education should be able to establish the identity of learners through the development of multi-faceted potential advantages of nations and multidimensional as it includes the dimensions of nationality and regional culture is currently in the process of finding regional cultural attributes that can be developed into manners learning model based on regional culture of North Sumatra. How to settle character and moral matters of learners as a form of mental revolution is very important to develop. This research approach in the early stages of research developmentwith reference assessment and and field study design with the culture and customs cases. Data collection techniques used include: observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, data verification. Implementation Of Character-Building Education In Mathematics Teaching And Learning To Create Of Human Character
Character is a part of human doing. Recent, human’s character become decrease. The phenomena of the decreasing of human character are corruption, killing, and Its also happened in education. Regardless of that, education can be one of preventive solution in crisis character and culture in Indonesia. The Government has expectation by integrated character education into curriculum of education can be able to cope in crisis of human character and culture. The character can be increase by education are: attitude of believe in God; respect for science; respect for other people; attitude of appreciating ourselves as perfect being; respect for mathematics as a history and civilization; critical thinking to convey of idea; carefully; work hard and have a passion to solve every problem; discipline; responsible; and consistently. Mathematics as a subject in the curriculum of education has six value that can be integrated in teaching and learning, they are: careful, diligent, hard work, curiosity, persistent. Based on the five value in mathematics education and oriented to approach in teaching and learning mathematics, such as exploration, inquiry, discovery could be destination of success in education specially in mathematics and also can be a create a human who has good character.

THE ROLE OF LOCAL LANGUAGE IN NATION’S CHARACTER BUILDING*
There are much complex cultures appeared as the result of “paradigm process in a modern
era. New dimensions are fruitful until all experiences and sciences become relative because
they tend to be the result of human activity. These human activities identically with culture,
so culturesare the result of human activities. Nusantara is the name of Indonesia’s culture
that can be observed through language and culture of a local language-culture. One of
Nusantara language-culture is Sundanese as the local language-culture of West Java. This
paper try to analyze nation’s character building through one of Sundanese language-culture
such as idioms and Proverbs. The data can be analyzed in order to build the character of
nations in West Java through language-culture. The comparative of character can be
analyzed through this data and will come to the conclusion that every nation has their own
character which can be observed through their own idioms and proverbs as the universal
one. That every nations has their own ethnicity and language-culture which is inherited
from their paternity. Qualitative research method is used here with the descriptive data
empirically. Character building is analyzed according to the theories of Hornby &
Parnwell (1972), Abourjilie (2002), Hidayatullah (2009), Djajasudarma (2016) to name a
