The Interactive Whiteboard and Educational Software as an Addition to the Teaching Process
This paper deals with the possibilities and effects of the interactive whiteboards and use of educational software as a contribution to teaching process. The interactive whiteboard with its own characteristics allows viewing of photo and video formats, use of educational software, document editing by using different software applications and so on. In this paper, emphasis is given to the use of educational software through interactive whiteboard and the analysis of their impact on teaching process improvement. Besides, from the fact that students learn new content in a more entertaining and approachable way, teachers at the same time improve the level of their professional development. The research in this paper includes both empirical and theoretical character, conducted by surveying a representative sample. It should provide answers about the impact and effects of interactive whiteboards and educational software on increase of the quality of teaching and the success and motivation of students in relation to the teaching realized in a traditional way
Influence of use of Activinspire interactive whiteboards in classroom on studentsâ learning
With the changing studentsâ generations and education content as well as modernization of educational technologies, various technical solutions are increasingly used by the teachers to supplement daily classroom activities. One of the novelties introduced in Lithuania in 2013 â ActivInspire system â was oriented towards mathematics and science education process in the 5th classes. The purpose of the survey presented in this article is to summarize one school yearâs teaching experience of teachers in organising educational activity in classroom by using interactive teaching tools (ActivInspire system) in terms of assessing influence of technologies on studentsâ learning.Teachers using ActivInspire interactive whiteboard for teaching mathematics and science in the 5th classes participated in the survey. The survey method â qualitative. During one school year, the teachers were writing reflections about their experience in using interactive learning tools in classroom: interactive whiteboard, electronic textbooks and audience response system. When speaking about the influence of use of ActivInspire on students, the teachers mostly emphasize that students like working with interactive teaching tools or find such activity interesting and appealing. The teachers also remark that these tools encourage the students to be more active; they are convenient as well as effective in the learning process, encourage the students to learn more and have influence on their study results. The negative aspects mentioned by the teachers were such that it is difficult for the students to maintain discipline; studentsâ interest and enthusiasm in using the interactive tools slackens over the school year; technical problems sometimes occur.Â

Tablet PCs in schools: Case study report: A report for Becta by the Open University
The publication provides an analysis of twelve case studies involving schools in England that were using Tablet PCs. The analysis is complemented by brief individual reports describing aspects of how each of these schools was using Tablet PCs
Initiating e-learning by stealth, participation and consultation in a late majority institution
The extent to which opportunities afforded by e-learning are embraced by an institution can depend in large measure on whether it is perceived as enabling and transformative or as a major and disruptive distraction. Most case studies focus on the former. This paper describes how e-learning was introduced into the latter environment. The sensitivity of competing pressures in a research intensive university substantially influenced the manner in which e-learning was promoted. This paper tells that story, from initial stealth to eventual university acknowledgement of the relevance of e-learning specifically to its own context
