On testing VLSI chips for the big Viterbi decoder

    Get PDF
A general technique that can be used in testing very large scale integrated (VLSI) chips for the Big Viterbi Decoder (BVD) system is described. The test technique is divided into functional testing and fault-coverage testing. The purpose of functional testing is to verify that the design works functionally. Functional test vectors are converted from outputs of software simulations which simulate the BVD functionally. Fault-coverage testing is used to detect and, in some cases, to locate faulty components caused by bad fabrication. This type of testing is useful in screening out bad chips. Finally, design for testability, which is included in the BVD VLSI chip design, is described in considerable detail. Both the observability and controllability of a VLSI chip are greatly enhanced by including the design for the testability feature

    Wasted Woodchips? What To Do?

One big question that overshadows any efforts to use chips as mulch is whether or not those chips?-?if from a diseased tree?-?pose any threat to the health of the trees that are otherwise expected to benefit from the treatment. A limited number of experiments to confirm that chips infested with pathogenic fungi do, in fact, pose a threat to plant health generally support the contention that chips from diseased trees are “safe” if they are properly composted. The diseases have been studied in this context are Verticillium wilt, Armillaria root rot and Phytophthora. The term “proper” composting is discussed. After having looked at what is an admittedly thin amount of reliable data, the conclusion is that it’s probably wise to err on the side of caution with regard to use of fresh waste wood chips

Pineapple (Ananas comosus L) is a fruit crop coming from Brazil. Besides pineapple can be eaten directly can be further processed into chips pineapple, pineapple dodol, jam, syrup and others. In the village there Nenas Kualu agro-industrial raw material, namely pineapple pineapple chips, diamonds pineapple and pineapple dodol. Pineapple chips are most widely refined products developed by craftsmen in the village Kualu pineapple processing pineapple. Processing of agricultural or agro-industry is a subsystem of agribusiness very big role in increasing the added value of agricultural products. Employers will also seek to do business with a decent order to obtain the maximum revenue to improve their welfare. In connection with this condition, this study aims to conduct feasibility analysis, Break Even Point (BEP), and the added value that can be produced by the pineapple industry. The results showed that the Agro-Industry Pineapple "Thanks to the Joint Enterprises in May 2016 to produce pineapple chips of 651 Kg. With a production cost of Rp. A sum of 45,475,122, - and the revenue generated Rp. 13,114,878, -. Results BEP analysis shows that this business in the breaks even when producing pineapple chips 60 kg with admission of Rp. 5,371,598, -. If the expected profit of Rp. 20.000.000, -, sales of chips should reach 902 Kg. the added value generated by effort "Berkat Bersama" is Rp. 872, - /kg of fresh pineapple

UD chips business. Sido Mulyo is a chip business that has grown rapidly so that it can improve the economy of partners. UD. Sido Mulyo is one of the big chip agents in the Batealit sub-district. UD. Sido Mulyo produces various types of chips, which are distributed to consumers in various sizes and prices. The implementation method used by the KKN team in partnering with UD. Sido Mulyo, namely socialization, training, mentoring and evaluation. UD. Sido Mulyo provides an opportunity for people whose age is no longer productive to join their company, so that these people still get income to support their economy during this pandemi

Analysis of deformations during the chip removal

During the cutting, because of coactions of the workpiece and the tool, an important, plastic shape transformation happens in a slim layer of the workpiece. This strain depends not only on the machining parameters, but on the material-quality too. Locally differing shape transformation can be detected especially in case of materials that own a big extent of anisotropy of mechanical parameters (e.g.: elastic modulus). In such materials the differences of the orientations of crystallites influence the surface roughness, too. In my study the results of examinations were made on OF-Cu and Al samples by an „in situ” (with videocamera) observation of the chip removal, and by the measuring of 1., the shape transformation of the chipped surface and the removed chips, and 2., change of micro hardness. We wanted to know, what effects each parameters of the anisotropy and cutting have on the workpiece’s plastically deformed layers- size and features

IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY ECONOMY THROUGH UMKM GINGER CRIPS BUSINESS IN RACEK TIRIS VILLAGE, PROBOLINGGO

sugar, ginger, coconut and sesame. Making ginger chips uses the traditional way and requires patience, because the manufacture is quite difficult and requires painstaking, so many people prefer to buy rather than make it themselves. However, this is a big opportunity for ginger chip makers, especially during the month of Ramadan. One of the villages that produces ginger chips is Racek Village. The ingredients for making ginger chips themselves are almost self-harvested, such as coconut and ginger, compared to buying them at the market so that local people use their land. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The results of this study can be concluded that the business of making ginger chips is reducing unemployment for housewives, and can increase the economy of the people of Racek Village, besides that the natural resources found in Racek Village can be put to good use. and the existence of a ginger chip business in the village of Racek not only improves the economy experienced by the ginger chip makers, but also improves the economy of the surrounding community

Food as Experience A Design and Evaluation Methodology

This research, conducted for Frito Lay-North America, Inc, demonstrates how new product designs, package designs, concepts, and prototypes can be created based on the social, emotional, cognitive, and sensory information gathered through a combined methodology based on activity theory, Kansei Engineering and the ZMET process. The study examines how activity theory can be used to observe situational settings mediated by products for the purpose of collecting significant social and behavioral data. It also examines how Kansei methods can be used to evaluate sensory experiences and how the ZMET process can be used to gather demographic and marketing data. The outcome of this research concludes that activity theory, Kansei engineering, and ZMET are each useful, however, none of these methods used in isolation are sufficient to inform all aspects of marketing, new product development, and package design decisions. However, as a combined design and evaluation methodology they can provide more useful data for these processes. Keywords: Experience Design, Kansei Assessment, Food, Activity Theory</p
