    Bibliometric Analysis on Research Trends of International Journal of Computers Communications & Control

    International Journal of Computers Communications & Control (IJCCC) is an international journal in the fields of automation control systems and computer science. According to Web of Science (WoS), the first document of IJCCC was published in 2006. In this paper, we study the research trends of publications in IJCCC by performing bibliometric analysis from 2006 to 2019. 982 publications are selected from WoS after data preprocessing by VOS viewer and CiteSpace. Firstly, fundamental information of publications is explored including the type, the annual trend and the most cited publications in IJCCC. Secondly, characteristics of countries/ regions, institutions and authors are presented in terms of evaluation indicators. Next, landscape analysis is conducted to show the development of IJCCC at level of countries/regions, institutions, authors and references, such as co-authorship analysis, bibliographic coupling analysis, co-citation and burst detection analysis, cooccurrence and timeline view analysis. Based on which, discussions about current challenges and possible research trends of IJCCC are provided. Finally, some main findings are summarized. This paper offers a valuable reference for scholars to understand the research trends of IJCCC and grasp hot topics related to relative fields

    Opinion mining and sentiment analysis in marketing communications: a science mapping analysis in Web of Science (1998–2018)

    Opinion mining and sentiment analysis has become ubiquitous in our society, with applications in online searching, computer vision, image understanding, artificial intelligence and marketing communications (MarCom). Within this context, opinion mining and sentiment analysis in marketing communications (OMSAMC) has a strong role in the development of the field by allowing us to understand whether people are satisfied or dissatisfied with our service or product in order to subsequently analyze the strengths and weaknesses of those consumer experiences. To the best of our knowledge, there is no science mapping analysis covering the research about opinion mining and sentiment analysis in the MarCom ecosystem. In this study, we perform a science mapping analysis on the OMSAMC research, in order to provide an overview of the scientific work during the last two decades in this interdisciplinary area and to show trends that could be the basis for future developments in the field. This study was carried out using VOSviewer, CitNetExplorer and InCites based on results from Web of Science (WoS).     Studies in Informatics and Control: A Bibliometric Analysis from 2008 to 2019

    As an international scientific journal, Studies in Informatics and Control (SIC ) covers the field of Information Technology (IT) and topics related to research areas, as well as important applications in IT, with particular emphasis on Advanced Automatic Control, Modeling and Optimization. SIC has greatly contributed to the areas where it involves since its first online publication way back in 1992. This paper sets out to analyze the structure and the underlying trend of the journal by making use of bibliometric methods. Firstly, the classical indicators are provided to illustrate the performance of the journal. This current study performs an in-depth analysis of the most productive and the most influential authors, institutions, and countries/regions, as well as the most cited research works published in SIC. Secondly, the visualization tools VoS viewer and CiteSpace are used to create scientific maps that may explain the structure of the journal in an intuitionistic way. In the science mapping, the co-citation maps, and the co-authorship networks of various items (such as authors, institutions, and countries/regions) are conducted. Also, the bursts detection of these items are derived. The co-occurrence of keywords and their bursts detection and timeline review are shown, respectively. Finally, some conclusions are given.     Does “Evaluating Journal Quality and the Association for Information Systems Senior Scholars Journal Basket…” Support the Basket with Bibliometric Measures?

    We re-examine “Evaluating Journal Quality and the Association for Information Systems Senior Scholars Journal Basket…” by Lowry et al. (2013). They sought to use bibliometric methods to validate the Basket as the eight top quality journals that are “strictly speaking, IS journals” (Lowry et al., 2013, pp. 995, 997). They examined 21 journals out of 140 journals considered as possible IS journals. We also expand the sample to 73 of the 140 journals. Our sample includes a wider range of approaches to IS, although all were suggested by IS scholars in a survey by Lowry and colleagues. We also use the same sample of 21 journals in Lowry et al. with the same methods of analysis so far as possible. With the narrow sample, we replicate Lowry et al. as closely as we can, whereas with the broader sample we employ a conceptual replication. This latter replication also employs alternative methods. For example, we consider citations (a quality measure) and centrality (a relevance measure in this context) as distinct, rather than merging them as in Lowry et al. High centrality scores from the sample of 73 journals do not necessarily indicate close connections with IS. Therefore, we determine which journals are of high quality and closely connected with the Basket and with their sample. These results support the broad purpose of Lowry et al., finding a wider set of high quality and relevant journals than just MISQ and ISR, and find a wider set of relevant, top quality journals

    The Internet of Things Research in Agriculture: A Bibliometric Analysis

    An in-depth analysis of Internet of Things (IoT) applications expertise for agriculture. This article's primary purpose is to provide a comprehensive and organized review of IoT research in agriculture themes. Although recent research has offered some pertinent information regarding the analysis of IoT applications in agriculture, further information is needed. Bibliometric analysis is utilized to objectively investigate, and develop information knowledge of IoT applications in agriculture. The papers investigated and examined the themes of IoT-agriculture by analyzing the co-occurrence keywords. The analysis began by picking 550 papers from the Scopus database that were published from 2003 to May 2023. The results show that IoT agriculture papers have grown rapidly since 2015 until now. The three journals that published the most IoT agricultural publications are Sensors (Switzerland), Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, and IEEE Access. Based on the co-occurrence keywords, the focus of IoT paper in agriculture is wireless sensors network (WSN) and radio frequency identification (RFID) for agricultural monitoring, smart agriculture with IoT blockchain and machine learning, IoT greenhouses with cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI), components of IoT agriculture, precision agriculture with low power low range (LoRa) communication network and IoT cloud platform, smart farming with sensor networks and automation. The study provided an understanding of themes of the IoT agriculture that has been carried out and its future growth. The future of IoT application will elaborate a system efficient, consumes less energy, and emits less carbon dioxide.     Robotics in Industry 4.0: A Bibliometric Analysis (2011-2022)

    Robotics forms an integral part of industry 4.0, the industrial revolution of the 21st century. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of Web of Science (WoS) indexed publications addressing this emerging field from 2011 till June 2022. WoS research publications were firstly analysed along multiple verticals such as annual counts, types, publishing sources, research directions, researchers, organizations, and countries. Next, co-authorship collaborations among authors, organizations, and countries were discovered. This was followed by an analysis of co-occurring keywords related to robotics in industry 4.0. Finally, a detailed citation analysis was carried out to unearth citation linkages among authors, institutions, documents, nations, and journals. Latest trends, under-investigated topics, and future directions are also discussed. Primary results indicate that more than 3000 articles are being published annually in this emerging field, with a total of 18,893 documents published in WoS during the last decade. The 'IEEE Access', Chinese Academy of Science, Wang Y. (USA), and the USA emerged as the topmost productive journal, institution, author, and nation. Porpiglia Francesco (Italy), Chinese Academy Science and USA obtained the highest co-authorship total link strength (TLS); whereas Lee Chengkuo (Singapore), China, Chinese Academy Science, and the IEEE Access scored the highest citation TLS among authors, countries, organizations, and sources respectively. Machine learning (ML) emerged as the highest co-occurring keyword, followed by artificial intelligence (AI). Computer Science emerged as the most trending research domain, followed by general applications. In the future, ML and AI will advance more sophisticated robots in industry 4.0 systems

    Big Data Privacy Context: Literature Effects On Secure Informational Assets

    This article's objective is the identification of research opportunities in the current big data privacy domain, evaluating literature effects on secure informational assets. Until now, no study has analyzed such relation. Its results can foster science, technologies and businesses. To achieve these objectives, a big data privacy Systematic Literature Review (SLR) is performed on the main scientific peer reviewed journals in Scopus database. Bibliometrics and text mining analysis complement the SLR. This study provides support to big data privacy researchers on: most and least researched themes, research novelty, most cited works and authors, themes evolution through time and many others. In addition, TOPSIS and VIKOR ranks were developed to evaluate literature effects versus informational assets indicators. Secure Internet Servers (SIS) was chosen as decision criteria. Results show that big data privacy literature is strongly focused on computational aspects. However, individuals, societies, organizations and governments face a technological change that has just started to be investigated, with growing concerns on law and regulation aspects. TOPSIS and VIKOR Ranks differed in several positions and the only consistent country between literature and SIS adoption is the United States. Countries in the lowest ranking positions represent future research opportunities.Comment: 21 pages, 9 figure

    Exploring Terms and Taxonomies Relating to the Cyber International Relations Research Field: or are "Cyberspace" and "Cyber Space" the same?

    This project has at least two facets to it: (1) advancing the algorithms in the sub-field of bibliometrics often referred to as "text mining" whereby hundreds of thousands of documents (such as journal articles) are scanned and relationships amongst words and phrases are established and (2) applying these tools in support of the Explorations in Cyber International Relations (ECIR) research effort. In international relations, it is important that all the parties understand each other. Although dictionaries, glossaries, and other sources tell you what words/phrases are supposed to mean (somewhat complicated by the fact that they often contradict each other), they do not tell you how people are actually using them. As an example, when we started, we assumed that "cyberspace" and "cyber space" were essentially the same word with just a minor variation in punctuation (i.e., the space, or lack thereof, between "cyber" and "space") and that the choice of the punctuation was a rather random occurrence. With that assumption in mind, we would expect that the taxonomies that would be constructed by our algorithms using "cyberspace" and "cyber space" as seed terms would be basically the same. As it turned out, they were quite different, both in overall shape and groupings within the taxonomy. Since the overall field of cyber international relations is so new, understanding the field and how people think about (as evidenced by their actual usage of terminology, and how usage changes over time) is an important goal as part of the overall ECIR project

    A bibliometric analysis of Economic Research-Ekonomska Istrazivanja (2007–2019)

    Economic Research-Ekonomska Istrazivanja is an international journal in the research field of business and economics and firstly published in 2007. In this paper, we make a bibliometric analysis of publications in Economic Research-Ekonomska Istrazivanja from 2007 to 2019. According to Web of Science (WoS), we derive 831 publications in the journal after data pre-processing. First, we explore characteristics of publications and citations based on widely recognised bibliometric indicators. Second, we present the influential countries/regions and influential institutions of publications in the journal. Next, we illustrate science mapping analysis according to two visualisation tools that are VOS viewer and CiteSpace. Specifically, co-citation networks and co-authorship networks are conducted to analyse connection of items. We generate bust detection analysis to identify the emerging cited authors and cited journals. Co-occurrence analysis and timeline view analysis of keywords are developed to detect the hot topics and trend of the journal. Finally, we make some discussions about future challenges of the journal in terms of the above analysis. This paper helps in objectively understanding the development of Economic Research-Ekonomska Istrazivanja and provides a valuable reference for the scholars in business and economics
