It has eased in revealing unknown fact in medical science, remote sensing, and many other domains. Digital image processing along with classification and neural network algorithms has enabled grading of various things. One of prominent area of its application is classification of agriculture products and especially grading of seed or cereals and its cultivars.     Convolutional Neural Networks for Counting Fish in Fisheries Surveillance Video

    We present a computer vision tool that analyses video from a CCTV system installed on fishing trawlers to monitor discarded fish catch. The system aims to support expert observers who review the footage and verify numbers, species and sizes of discarded fish. The operational environment presents a significant challenge for these tasks. Fish are processed below deck under fluorescent lights, they are randomly oriented and there are multiple occlusions. The scene is unstructured and complicated by the presence of fishermen processing the catch. We describe an approach to segmenting the scene and counting fish that exploits the N4N^4-Fields algorithm. We performed extensive tests of the algorithm on a data set comprising 443 frames from 6 belts. Results indicate the relative count error (for individual fish) ranges from 2\% to 16\%. We believe this is the first system that is able to handle footage from operational trawlers

The use of two or more simple robot is preferable to the use of one sophisticated robot. The agriculture industry can benefit from installing a robot, from seeding to the packaging of the product. A precise analysis is required for the installation of two collaborative robots. This paper discusses the motion control analysis of two collaborative arms robots in the fruit packaging system. The study begins with the relative motion analysis between two robots, starting with kinematics modeling, image processing for object detection, and the Fuzzy Logic Controller's design to show the relationship between the robot inputs and outputs. The analysis is carried out using SCILAB, open-source software for numerical computing engineering. This paper is intended as the initial analysis of the feasibility of the real experimental system

    A New Framework for Measuring Volume of Axisymmetric Food Products using Computer Vision System Based on Cubic Spline Interpolation

    Volume is an important factor to determine the external quality of a food product. The volume measurement of food product is not a simple process if it is performed manually. For alternative, several volume measurement methods for food products have been proposed using 2D and 3D computer vision. Disk method and frustum cone method have been applied in many 2D computer visions to approximate the volume of axisymmetric food products. These methods were less in accuracy, since it used piecewise linear function to approximate the boundary of the object. This paper aims to propose a new framework for measuring the volume of axisymmetric food product based on cubic spline interpolation. Cubic spline interpolation is employed to construct a piecewise continuous polynomial of the boundary of object from captured image. The polynomial is then integrated to approximate the volume of the object. The simulation result shows that the proposed framework produced accurate volume measurement result

    Nonintrusive methods for biomass estimation in aquaculture with emphasis on fish: a review

    Fish biomass estimation is one of the most common and important practices in aquaculture. The regular acquisition of fish biomass information has been identified as an urgent need for managers to optimize daily feeding, control stocking densities and ultimately determine the optimal time for harvesting. However, it is difficult to estimate fish biomass without human intervention because fishes are sensitive and move freely in an environment where visibility, lighting and stability are uncontrollable. Until now, fish biomass estimation has been mostly based on manual sampling, which is usually invasive, time‐consuming and laborious. Therefore, it is imperative and highly desirable to develop a noninvasive, rapid and cost‐effective means. Machine vision, acoustics, environmental DNA and resistivity counter provide the possibility of developing nonintrusive, faster and cheaper methods for in situ estimation of fish biomass. This article summarizes the development of these nonintrusive methods for fish biomass estimation over the past three decades and presents their basic concepts and principles. The strengths and weaknesses of each method are analysed and future research directions are also presented. Studies show that the applications of information technology such as advanced sensors and communication technologies have great significance to accelerate the development of new means and techniques for more effective biomass estimation. However, the accuracy and intelligence still need to be improved to meet intensive aquaculture requirements. Through close cooperation between fisheries experts and engineers, the precision and the level of intelligence for fish biomass estimation will be further improved based on the above methods
