    An efficient PHR service system supporting fuzzy keyword search and fine-grained access control

    Outsourcing of personal health record (PHR) has attracted considerable interest recently. It can not only bring much convenience to patients, it also allows efficient sharing of medical information among researchers. As the medical data in PHR is sensitive, it has to be encrypted before outsourcing. To achieve fine-grained access control over the encrypted PHR data becomes a challenging problem. In this paper, we provide an affirmative solution to this problem. We propose a novel PHR service system which supports efficient searching and fine-grained access control for PHR data in a hybrid cloud environment, where a private cloud is used to assist the user to interact with the public cloud for processing PHR data. In our proposed solution, we make use of attribute-based encryption (ABE) technique to obtain fine-grained access control for PHR data. In order to protect the privacy of PHR owners, our ABE is anonymous. That is, it can hide the access policy information in ciphertexts. Meanwhile, our solution can also allow efficient fuzzy search over PHR data, which can greatly improve the system usability. We also provide security analysis to show that the proposed solution is secure and privacy-preserving.     Public Key Encryption Supporting Plaintext Equality Test and User-Specified Authorization

    In this paper we investigate a category of public key encryption schemes which supports plaintext equality test and user-specified authorization. With this new primitive, two users, who possess their own public/private key pairs, can issue token(s) to a proxy to authorize it to perform plaintext equality test from their ciphertexts. We provide a formal formulation for this primitive, and present a construction with provable security in our security model. To mitigate the risks against the semi-trusted proxies, we enhance the proposed cryptosystem by integrating the concept of computational client puzzles. As a showcase, we construct a secure personal health record application based on this primitive

    Integrated, reliable and cloud-based personal health record: a scoping review.

    Personal Health Records (PHR) emerge as an alternative to integrate patient’s health information to give a global view of patients' status. However, integration is not a trivial feature when dealing with a variety electronic health systems from healthcare centers. Access to PHR sensitive information must comply with privacy policies defined by the patient. Architecture PHR design should be in accordance to these, and take advantage of nowadays technology. Cloud computing is a current technology that provides scalability, ubiquity, and elasticity features. This paper presents a scoping review related to PHR systems that achieve three characteristics: integrated, reliable and cloud-based. We found 101 articles that addressed thosecharacteristics. We identified four main research topics: proposal/developed systems, PHR recommendations for development, system integration and standards, and security and privacy. Integration is tackled with HL7 CDA standard. Information reliability is based in ABE security-privacy mechanism.     A review of the state of the art in privacy and security in the eHealth cloud

    The proliferation and usefulness of cloud computing in eHealth demands high levels of security and privacy for health records. However, eHealth clouds pose serious security and privacy concerns for sensitive health data. Therefore, practical and effective methods for security and privacy management are essential to preserve the privacy and security of the data. To review the current research directions in security and privacy in eHealth clouds, this study has analysed and summarized the state of the art technologies and approaches reported in security and privacy in the eHealth cloud. An extensive review covering 132 studies from several peer-reviewed databases such as IEEE Xplore was conducted. The relevant studies were reviewed and summarized in terms of their benefits and risks. This study also compares several research works in the domain of data security requirements. This paper will provide eHealth stakeholders and researchers with extensive knowledge and information on current research trends in the areas of privacy and security

    A Survey: Attribute Based Encryption for Secure Cloud

    Cloud computing is an enormous area which shares huge amount of data over cloud services and it has been increasing with its on-demand technology. Since, with these versatile cloud services, when the delicate data stored within the cloud storage servers, there are some difficulties which has to be managed like its Security Issues, Data Privacy, Data Confidentiality, Data Sharing and its integrity over the cloud servers dynamically. Also, the authenticity and data access control should be maintained in this wide environment. Thus, Attribute based Encryption (ABE) is a significant version of cryptographic technique in the cloud computing environment. Public Key Encryption acts as the basic technique for ABE where it provides one to many encryptions, here, the private key of users & the cipher-text both rely on attributes such that, when the set of the attributes of users key matches set of attributes of cipher-text with its corresponding access policy, only then decryption is possible. Thus, an opponent could grant access to the sensitive information that holds multiple keys, if it has at least one individual key for accession. The techniques based on ABE consist of two types: KP-ABE (Key- Policy ABE) where the user’s private key is linked to an access structure (or access policy) over attributes and cipher-text is connected to the set of attributes, and CP-ABE (cipher-text policy ABE) is vice versa. Hence, in this, Review we discuss about the various security techniques and relations based on Attributes Based Encryption, especially, the type KP-ABE over data attributes which explains secured methods & its schemes related to time specifications.&nbsp

    Protocols for Secure Computation on Privately Encrypted Data in the Cloud

    Cloud services provide clients with highly scalable network, storage, and computational resources. However, these service come with the challenge of guaranteeing the confidentiality of the data stored on the cloud. Rather than attempting to prevent adversaries from compromising the cloud server, we aim in this thesis to provide data confidentiality and secure computations in the cloud, while preserving the privacy of the participants and assuming the existence of a passive adversary able to access all data stored in the cloud. To achieve this, we propose several protocols for secure and privacy-preserving data storage in the cloud. We further show their applicability and scalability through their implementations. we first propose a protocol that would allow emergency providers access to privately encrypted data in the cloud, in the case of an emergency, such as medical records. Second, we propose various protocols to allow a querying entity to securely query privately encrypted data in the cloud while preserving the privacy of the data owners and the querying entity. We also present cryptographic and non-cryptographic protocols for secure private function evaluation in order to extend the functions applicable in the protocols
