Requirements for User Experience Management - A Tertiary Study

    Get PDF
Today’s users expect to be able to interact with the products they own without much effort and also want to be excited about them. The development of a positive user experience must therefore be managed. We understand management in general as a combination of a goal, a strategy, and resources. When applied to UX, user experience management consists of a UX goal, a UX strategy, and UX resources. We conducted a tertiary study and examined the current state of existing literature regarding possible requirements. We want to figure out, what requirements can be derived from the literature reviews with the focus on UX and agile development. In total, we were able to identify and analyse 16 studies. After analysing the studies in detail, we identified different requirements for UX management. In summary, we identified 13 requirements. The most frequently mentioned requirements were prototypes and UX/usability evaluation. Communication between UX professionals and developers was identified as a major improvement in the software development process. In summary, we were able to identify requirements for UX management of People/Social, Technology/Artifacts, and Process/Practice. However, we could not identify requirements for UX management that enabled the development and achievement of a UX goal

Internet has become increasingly popular nowadays. Several million of websites have been built and used for electronic buying and selling. Many designers have begun to focus their attention on whether these platforms can really be used to the satisfaction of users. Hence, the need to evaluate users’ experience on E-Commerce platforms. This research compares five platforms (Jumia, Ali-Express, Konga, Amazon and Jiji) based on users’ review through the use of online questionnaires for evaluating the platforms. From the data retrieved, Jumia, Konga and Ali Express recorded a total number of 105, 67 and 45 respondents representing 47.29%, 31.08% and 20.27% of the used sample population respectively. Amazon and Jiji recorded 2 and 3 respondents respectively accounting for 0.9% and 1.35% of the total population size. Attention should be given to attractive and easy-to-Navigate E-Commerce platform designs for users to have good user experience

An investigation of requirements traceability practices in software companies in Malaysia

Requirement traceability (RT) is one of the critical activity of good requirements management and an important part of development projects. At the same time, it improves the quality of software products. Nevertheless, industrial practitioners are challenged by this lack of guidance or results which serve as a rule or guide in establishing effective traceability in their projects. The outcome of this is that practitioners are ill-informed as to the best or most efficient means of accomplishing their tasks, such as found in software companies. Notwithstanding the lack of guidance, there are a number of commonly accepted practices which can guide industrial practitioners with respect to trace the requirements in their projects. This study aims to determine the practices of RT through conducting a systematic literature review. Also, this study conducted a survey for investigating the use of RT practices in the software companies at northern region of Malaysia. Finally, a series of interviews with practitioners were carried out to know the reasons that influence on the use of these practices in software development. The findings showed that majority software companies do not use traceability practices for tracing requirements due to financial issues and the lack of knowledge of these practices. This study presented empirical evidence about the use of RT practices among software companies. Thus, the findings of this study can assist practitioners to select RT practices, and also enables researchers to find gaps and pointers for future study in this study domain

Machine Learning Algorithms in Analysis, Diagnosing and Predicting COVID-19: A Systematic Literature Review

Since the COVID-19 corona virus first appeared at the end of 2019, in Wuhan province, China, the analysis, diagnosis, and prognosis of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) has attracted the greatest attention. Since then, every part of the world needs some sort of system or instrument to assist judgments for prompt quarantine and medical treatment. For a variety of uses, including prediction, classification, and analysis, machine learning (MLR) have demonstrated their accuracy and efficiency in the fields of education, health, and security. In this paper, three main questions will be answered related to COVID-19 analysis, predicting, and diagnosing. The performance evaluation, fast process and identification, quick learning, and accurate results of MLR algorithms make them as a base for all models in analyzing, diagnosing, and predicting COVID-19 infection. The impact of using supervised and unsupervised MLR can be used for estimating the spread level of COVID-19 to make the proper strategic decisions. The researchers next compared the effects of various datatypes on diagnosing, forecasting, and assessing the severity of COVID-19 infection in order to examine the effects of MLRs. Three fields are associated with COVID-19, according to the analysis of the chosen study (analysis, diagnosing, and predicting). The majority of researches focus on the subject of COVID-19 diagnosis, where they use their models to identify the infection. In the selected studies, several algorithms are employed, however, a study revealed that the neural network is the most used method when compared to other algorithms. The most used method for identifying, forecasting, and evaluating COVID-19 infection is supervised MLR

The accelerated development of new technology, particularly on mobile application has increased teacher’s responsibility as a learning facilitator.Mobile learning application is very useful in enriching the mobile learning experience of children. However, some applications fail to assist and increase children knowledge on the subject they studied. Moreover, some children are not interested in mobile applications due to other issues such as poor interfaces. In this paper, some previous studies on dimensions used to evaluate mobile learning applications were reviewed. The systematic literature review approach was employed to search previous papers and studies on usability dimension, particularly for mobile learning applications. The result showed that the top four usability dimensions are efficiency, effectiveness; learn ability and user satisfaction. This study explored the current literatures on the subject matter and stimulates further studies that will lead to improved usability of mobile learning applications for children

There are several literatures pertaining to the usability of mobile commerce (m-commerce) applications, however, these literatures do not sufficiently address issues about usability methods or adequately provide knowledge concerning usability methods used in most of the empirical usability evaluation for applications in m-commerce.Hence, this paper attempts to review available literatures with the aim of capturing the usability techniques commonly or frequently used in the domain of usability evaluation for applications in m-commerce. To achieve the stated research goal, the study applied systematic literature review methodology. Sixty seven (67) papers in the area of usability evaluation for m-commerce apps were downloaded. Out of these papers, twenty one (21) most relevant studies were selected for review in order to extract the appropriate information needed for the analysis. The results from the review reveal that heuristic evaluation, formal test and think-aloud methods are the most commonly utilized methods in m-commerce application usability evaluation compared to the cognitive walk through and informal test methods. In addition, most of the studies applied control experiment (33.30% of the total reviewed studies); other studies that applied case study in usability evaluation make up 14.28%. However, most of the studies reviewed, lacked comprehensive framework to demonstrate the applicability of other usability methods in m-commerce domain such as survey and field study. The results from this paper provide additional knowledge for usability practitioners, designers, developers, and the research community to know the current usability methods applied in m-commerce application evaluation
