Conversão de registros bibliográficos do padrão AACR2r para NBR 6023/2002 usando XML: suporte documental livro
The difficulty in preparing references is perceived among students and teachers. The problem lies in understanding the various forms of application of different standards, widely used in information units and academic work. In Brazil, the recommendation for use of ISO 6023/2002, ABNT. It should be noted the difficulty in preparing references perceived in public non-specialist literature on standardization. The goal that was intended to achieve with this study was to develop methodology applicable to a computational tool that addresses the preparation of references to documents containing ISBN. As specific objectives were to: develop a tool to display references using the essential elements established by the NBR 6023/2002; study format conversion of bibliographic records in standard AACR2R to NBR6023/2002; maintain a conversion process from the indication of the ISBN number for the NBR 6023/2002 format, bibliographic records in MARC 21 Bibliographic AACR2R described in the pattern, using the XML markup language, make proposals for further action to address other formats of bibliographic records. The work was motivated by an interest in fostering the relationship between the automated information systems in libraries and user needs, and developing a computational tool that utilizes the essential elements established by the Brazilian standard preparation of references, such as author, title, edition, place, publisher and date of publication, from bibliographic records in standard AACR2R. The methodological procedure involved literature review and field research beyond the study of XML. It was necessary to establish a boundary to the documentary type book, considering the complexity of working, at first, with other support documents, and another, with books that contained the ISBN number, so that one could develop the process of conversion indication from this data in bibliographic records cataloged in MARC 21 Bibliographic format, exploring, well, the ease of original representation of bibliographic information. The research involved reading and bibliographic records of material involving the standards AACR2R, NBR 6023/2002, MARC 21 Bibliographic, ISBN, and XML. In field research, we proceeded to investigate whether looking for tools to ascertain the mechanisms and elements used. We identified several tools, including: a national (MORE) and two American (and OttoBib EasyBib) and went to the comparative analysis of the mechanisms identified in order to verify the information used as well as their patterns of results. It is expected, with this methodology, develop tool to meet the demand of students and teachers regarding the preparation of references, bibliography. In future, we intend to improve it in order to include other formats of bibliographic records
Indicadores de evaluación de citas y referencias en tesis de maestría en educación: una muestra peruana
This research work is aimed at determining the quality of citations and references of the Master’s thesis in Education of peruvian colleges. The documental analysis technique was used and the “Observation Guide” proposed by Martín and Lafuente (2017) was employed as an instrument, which is composed of five quality indicators for the bibliographic review (exhaustiveness, critical use of the bibliography, quality, relevance and review of previous research works); and of 9 for bibliographic references (update, number of references, self-citation, language, typology, support, complete references, accuracy and fulfillment of a standard or style). In addition, 562 bibliographic references and 1209 citations extracted from 14 theses, digitalized and published in the National Digital Repository of Peru during 2017, were analyzed. The mechanisms for citations as well as the bibliographic references were evaluated. After the descriptive-statistical analysis, it could be identified that the level achieved for both variables was “Enough”.La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar la calidad de citas y referencias de las tesis de Maestría en Educación de universidades peruanas.

The NASA Astrophysics Data System: Data Holdings
Since its inception in 1993, the ADS Abstract Service has become an
indispensable research tool for astronomers and astrophysicists worldwide. In
those seven years, much effort has been directed toward improving both the
quantity and the quality of references in the database. From the original
database of approximately 160,000 astronomy abstracts, our dataset has grown
almost tenfold to approximately 1.5 million references covering astronomy,
astrophysics, planetary sciences, physics, optics, and engineering. We collect
and standardize data from approximately 200 journals and present the resulting
information in a uniform, coherent manner. With the cooperation of journal
publishers worldwide, we have been able to place scans of full journal articles
on-line back to the first volumes of many astronomical journals, and we are
able to link to current version of articles, abstracts, and datasets for
essentially all of the current astronomy literature. The trend toward
electronic publishing in the field, the use of electronic submission of
abstracts for journal articles and conference proceedings, and the increasingly
prominent use of the World Wide Web to disseminate information have enabled the
ADS to build a database unparalleled in other disciplines.

eABC: scientific publications bibliografic archive
The paper intends to present eABC – Scientific Publications Bibliographic Archive of University of Aveiro’. It describes the motivation that induced its implementation, advantages for users and for all those whom the system serves. Some of the systems functionalities will be presented, along with a description on how to use them. Finally, the current status of the system - as it is being used by the University of Aveiro - will be presented, with the addition of an explanation on how this system helps in the creation of mechanisms that enable the adaptability and flexibility of systems to improve the scientific community dynamics
Referencing Sources of Molecular Spectroscopic Data in the Era of Data Science: Application to the HITRAN and AMBDAS Databases
The application described has been designed to create bibliographic entries
in large databases with diverse sources automatically, which reduces both the
frequency of mistakes and the workload for the administrators. This new system
uniquely identifies each reference from its digital object identifier (DOI) and
retrieves the corresponding bibliographic information from any of several
online services, including the SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data Systems (ADS) and
CrossRef APIs. Once parsed into a relational database, the software is able to
produce bibliographies in any of several formats, including HTML and BibTeX,
for use on websites or printed articles. The application is provided
free-of-charge for general use by any scientific database. The power of this
application is demonstrated when used to populate reference data for the HITRAN
and AMBDAS databases as test cases. HITRAN contains data that is provided by
researchers and collaborators throughout the spectroscopic community. These
contributors are accredited for their contributions through the bibliography
produced alongside the data returned by an online search in HITRAN. Prior to
the work presented here, HITRAN and AMBDAS created these bibliographies
manually, which is a tedious, time-consuming and error-prone process. The
complete code for the new referencing system can be found at

On Fractional Approach to Analysis of Linked Networks
In this paper, we present the outer product decomposition of a product of
compatible linked networks. It provides a foundation for the fractional
approach in network analysis. We discuss the standard and Newman's
normalization of networks. We propose some alternatives for fractional
bibliographic coupling measures
