========== In actual situation, the quantity of demand and supply fulfillment often changes. This causes the ratio of demand to supply fluctuates. In conditions when demand is greater than supply, the company that has some classes of customers are encounters a problem called rationing. The main activity of rationing is to allocate the supply and service level differentiation on each customer according to its priority level. Considerations or criteria in making rationing policy generally are factors of interest, the characteristics and value of different strategic, this situation indicates is necessary to be done to improve company profitability. In this thesis three scenarios in inventory rationing of continuous review (Q,r) are proposed. There are two demand classes with fluctuated demand characteristic on those three screnarios. In the first scenario, service level allocated to demand classes based on partiality rationing strategy, the second scenario is based on weighted rationing strategy, and the third scenario is based on static rationing strategy. Those three scenarios then implemented based on the consideration of two aspects namely company or industry and customers needs and assessed based on two criteria namely service level and total profit

This paper investigates optimal choices for the e-tailer with inventory rationing, hybrid channel strategies, and service level constraint under multiperiod environment. Based on different operational conditions, five mathematical models are proposed for the e-tailer who faces two types of fuzzy demand and a framework is designed to illustrate the e-tailer’s operation in different models. This paper presents the advantages of inventory rationing and hybrid channel strategies and analyzes the influences of channel differences variability on optimal choices for the e-tailer, where the channel differences include margin difference of priority and margin difference of channel. Through computer simulation, the optimal choices for the e-tailer under different multiperiod environments are obtained, and the influences of margin difference of priority and margin difference of channel on the e-tailer’s optimal choices are also examined. Experiment results show that the pure-play drop shipping model and the hybrid channel with inventory rationing model are the optimal choices for the e-tailer; these findings have valuable guiding significance for the e-tailer to make optimal tactical decisions under multiperiod environment

A manufacturer-buyers integrated inventory model with generic distribution of lead times to deliver equal and/or unequal batch sizes

Although lead time variation is common in practice, integrated single-manufacturer multi-buyer model considering this factor is unavailable in the extant literature. This article considers generic distribution of lead times of delivering equal and/or unequal batch (sub-lot) sizes of a lot in developing a synchronised integrated single-manufacturer multi-buyer model. The batch sizes are assumed to be in geometric series. The variables considered in the model are the smallest batch size, total number of batches and number of unequal batch sizes delivered from the manufacturer to buyers. The smallest batch sizes delivered to the buyers are bounded below by 1 and above by the capacity of the transport vehicle. The minimal total cost solution technique to the model is derived by the method of differentiation. Significant minimal total cost reductions by the synchronised flow is illustrated through solutions to some numerical example problems. Sensitivity analyses on increasing costs of transportation, shortage, inventory and increasing mean lead times upon the optimal solution have been performed
