    Large Type Fit Indices of Mathematics Adult Learners: A Covariance Structure Model

    Fit is the ability of a model to reproduce the data in the variance-covariance matrix form. A good fitting model is one that is reasonably consistent with the data and doesn’t require respecification and also its measurement model is required before estimating paths in a covariance structure model. A baseline model of four constructs together with a combination of none, one, two, three or four additional constructs was constructed with latent variables: educational performance, socio-economic label, self concept and parental authority using dichotomous digits 0 or 1 for each additional construct. We considered 16 progressively nested models starting with baseline model using the mathematics adult learners data from the modeling sample and employing some large fit indexes which are commonly used (NFI, NNFI, CFI, GFI, PGFI, among others) Usluel, et al. (2008) to test the fitness of the model.     У статті досліджуються проблеми розвитку інформаційно-комунікаційних технологій (ІКТ) навчання вищої математики студентів інженерних спеціальностей у США. Охарактеризовано сутність конвергенції тенденції інформатизації системи вищої інженерної освіти США з іншими тенденціями її розвитку; визначено основні історико-педагогічні етапи розвитку теорії і методики використання ІКТ у навчанні вищої математики студентів інженерних спеціальностей у США. Вивчення історико-педагогічної джерельної бази надало можливість виокремити шість етапів, на ранніх етапах проаналізовано провідні засоби ІКТ навчання вищої математики, вказано протиріччя і визначено основні особливості використання засобів ІКТ у навчанні вищої математики студентів інженерних спеціальностей.The article deals with the problems of information and communication technologies (ICT) development in teaching mathematics of engineering specialities students in the United States. In the article the nature of trends of convergence of information system in higher technical education and other tendencies in the USA are сharacterized. The main historical stages of development of the theory and methods of ICT use in teaching mathematics of engineering specialities students in the United States are defined. The study of historical sources has been allowed to emphasize six stages, at each stage it is analyzed the use of ICT for teaching mathematics, it is shown the contradictions and the main features of the use of ICT in teaching mathematics of engineering specialities students

    Perguruan Tinggi sudah mengalami tranformasi di era informasi melalui pemanfaatan internet sebagai media informasi dan moda pembelajaran dengan pendekatan baru. Internet telah menjadi salah satu media penting yang dapat membantu peningkatan popularitas perguruan tinggi dan alat diseminasi ilmu pengetahuan ke masyarakat. Popularitas tersebut berhubungan dengan kuantitas dan kualitas konten yang tersedia pada website perguruan tinggi. Ukuran yang digunakan untuk mengukur mutu pembuatan website tersebut meliputi jumlah halaman web, kekayaan fitur layanan, dan muara akhirnya adalah jumlah tautan dan jumlah kunjungan sebagai ukuran popularitas. Berbagai ukuran tersebut juga digunakan oleh pemeringkatan website perguruan tinggi di dunia seperti yang dilakukan oleh Webometrics dan 4icu. Jumlah perguruan tinggi di Indonesia yang masuk pemeringkatan Webometrics Edisi Juli 2011 sebanyak 149, dan peringkat atas di tingkat nasional didominasi oleh Perguruan Tinggi Negeri. Perguruan tinggi di Indonesia juga masih tertinggal di lingkungan ASEAN yang sepuluh besarnya dikuasai oleh Singapura, Malaysia, dan Thailand

    Factors Effecting the Usage of ICT by the Teaching Members at Jerash University

    This study aims at exploring the factors effecting the extent to which information and communication technology (ICT) is used by the teaching members at Jerash University (JU). For this purpose and based on the descriptive approach, a questionnaire was validly and reliably developed and applied to a randomly selected sample of 100 teaching members. A generally high extent of ICT usage was found. Moreover, no statistically significant differences were found in the aforesaid factors due to academic rank; however, they were found to exist in terms of self-efficiency due to faculty. Training courses are necessarily recommended to be held for the teaching members on the usage of ICT within the learning-teaching process

    An Investigation of the Relationship of ICT Training of Principals in ICT integration in Management Public Secondary Schools: A case of Nairobi County, Kenya

    The purpose of this study was to find out whether there exists a relationship between ICT training of principals and ICT integration in management of public secondary schools in Kenya. Cross-sectional survey design was used in Nairobi County where quantitative research strategy was applied for the collection of data using questionnaires. The target population comprised of 75 secondary schools in Nairobi County at the time of data collection. Simple Random sampling was used to select the public secondary schools with 7(10%) participating in the pilot study. Data collected by questionnaires from 68 principals were analyzed using Pearson’s chi square with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings of the analysis of data revealed that there was a significant relationship between the principals’ educational level and ICT integration in management of public secondary schools in Kenya. Out of this study recommendations were made to the county government and secondary schools in Nairobi County and Kenya in general. Keywords: ICT Training of Principals, ICT integration and Managemen

    THE CONTINGENT ADOPTION OF ICT INNOVATIONS: THE CASE OF AN INDONESIAN UNIVERSITY

    Using the context of a university in a developing country, this research is employing a single case study with embedded design to examine the perspective of academics as secondary adopters of managerial ICT innovations. By exploring the influence of mediating factors towards the adoption and implementation of the innovations, this research will contribute to and extend the hybrid innovation diffusion framework advocated by Gallivan (2001) in a university setting in Indonesia. Gallivan (2001) suggests that innovation diffusion studies should accommodate the contingent adoption scenario where the innovation is first adopted at an organisational level, leaving organisation members as secondary adopters. Universities frequently utilise this scenario as university executives initially adopt innovations before mandating them to academics. The framework is therefore a suitable tool to be used to assess ICT innovation diffusion in universities. The research has reviewed the available literature, identified the research gap and developed a preliminary conceptual framework upon which to analyse the case study. After the data is analysed, a refinement of the framework will be undertaken

    DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF A SCALE ON TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN PHYSICS CLASS (STIPC) FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHERS

    Based in Teo and Zhou’s Extended Technology Acceptance Model as a useful frame for describing and understanding the beliefs on technology integration of the science teachers. This paper addresses the need for a survey instrument designed to measure the beliefs on integrate technology of the Science Teachers in the physics classrooms. The paper describes survey development process and results from a pilot study on 93 junior high school science teachers. Data analysis procedures included Cronbach’s alpha statistics on the E-TAM constructs and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted in the entire instrument. Results suggest that, with the modification based from content experts’ recommendations and deletion of 9 of the survey items from the initial 30 items, the scale is a reliable and valid instrument that will help education specialist implement a professional development program which could enhance the intention and ultimately the practices on technology integration in Physics classroom.  Article visualizations

    Understanding Antecedents to the Satisfaction of Using Learning Management System: an Empirical Study of Accounting Students

    ABSTRACTThis research was aimed to identify the factors affecting the Accounting students' satisfaction of using Google Classroom as one of the Learning Management System (LMS). This research analyzed the effect of perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness on the students' satisfaction. The sample in this research was 108 Accounting students. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 2.0. The research results showed that the level of satisfaction of the Google Classroom was affected positively and significantly by the perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness. Moreover, this research also discussed the impacts of the results both theoretically and practically.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kepuasan mahasiswa akuntansi dalam menggunakan google classroom yang merupakan salah satu learning management system (LMS). Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness terhadap kepuasan. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel 108 responden mahasiswa akuntansi. Data dianalisis menggunakan PLS-SEM dengan software SmartPLS 2.0.
