    The Effect of Integrated Marketing Communication, environmental Responsibility and Voluntariness Toward Electricity Saving Behavior Intention

    There is a strong relationship between the development of industrial technology and electric power. It is time when people are required to have electricity saving behavior. This research purpose is to strengthen the relationship of integrated marketing communication, perceived environmental responsibility, and voluntariness in behavior intention. The population of this research is individuals who involved in the decision of electricity use, either for himself or his family in DIY Province. The sample was taken using non probability sampling with convenience sampling method. The number of sample used in this research is 170 respondents. The data analysis technique is using AMOS 4.0. The research result proved that; (1) integrated marketing communication and perceived environmental responsibility has a significant positive effect toward voluntariness, and (2) voluntariness has a significant positive effect toward behavior intention.     Examining consumer acceptance of green innovations using innovation characteristics: A conceptual approach

    In the wake of global warming and environmental preservation, all processes and actions are now being directed along the lines of creating a greener environment. Household solar equipments are one such initiative, whereby people around the world are being encouraged to adopt green innovations even within homes. Recent emphasis is particularly along the usage of solar energy for home lighting, heating and cooking. To achieve increased adoption of these green innovations, it is important to understand the behaviours of various factors that may influence consumers in forming favourable intentions towards such innovations. This article aims to develop a theory-based conceptual framework for examining user adoption of household solar innovations. Attributes from Rogers’ Diffusion of Innovations theory, Tornatzky and Klein’s Meta-Analysis, and Moore and Benbasat’s Perceived Characteristics of Innovating theory will be used to design the intended framework for examining the adoption of household solar and other green innovations

    Factors influencing students' acceptance of m-learning: An investigation in higher education

    M-learning will play an increasingly significant role in the development of teaching and learning methods for higher education. However, the successful implementation of m-learning in higher education will be based on users' acceptance of this technology. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to study the factors that affect university students' intentions to accept m-learning. Based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) (Venkatesh et al., 2003), this study proposes a model to identify the factors that influence the acceptance of m-learning in higher education and to investigate if prior experience of mobile devices affects the acceptance of m-learning. A structural equation model was used to analyse the data collected from 174 participants. The results indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, influence of lecturers, quality of service, and personal innovativeness were all significant factors that affect behavioural intention to use m-learning. Prior experience of mobile devices was also found to moderate the effect of these constructs on behavioural intention. The results of this research extend the UTAUT in the context of m-learning acceptance by adding quality of service and personal innovativeness to the structure of UTAUT and provide practitioners and educators with useful guidelines for designing a successful m-learning system

    A Qualitative Approach to Examine Technology Acceptance

    The research field of technology acceptance and software acceptance is a fertile field in the discipline of MIS. Acceptance research is mainly affected by the technology acceptance model (TAM). The TAM is counted as the major guideline for acceptance research. But recently more researchers discover the deficits of former acceptance research. The main cause of the criticism is the focus on quantitative research methods. We will show this with the help of former meta-studies and a literature review. Quantitative approaches are basically appropriate for the testing of theories. The development of new theories or constructs is followed to a lesser intent. In the article we will show how a qualitative approach can be used for theory-construction. We will introduce a qualitative research design and show how this approach can be used to develop new constructs of acceptance while some existing constructs taken from TAM and related theories cannot be confirmed

    Exploration of Factors Affecting Nurse Faculty Use or Resistance to Online Education

    The substantial increase in online nursing program enrollment demands that nurse educators be adept in the delivery of online education; however, a significant challenge exists in how to deliver practice-based nursing education in the online environment. Teaching online requires a change in the traditional role of the educator accompanied by the effective use of online learning technologies. Some studies suggest that faculties remain pessimistic to online delivery of education and do not participate, yet few objectively examine variables that influence resistance or use. Included in this dissertation are two manuscripts. The first manuscript defines resistance and addresses prominent concerns associated with teaching online: technology skills and competencies, faculty preparation and training, workload, and quality. The second manuscript is a research study report that utilized multiple regression to test the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) among a population of 940 southern U.S. nurse educators. The study revealed several causal connections associated with nurse faculty use of online education. Experience, performance expectancy, social influence, attitude, voluntariness, anxiety, and facilitating conditions significantly contributed to the UTAUT model, explaining 36% (R2) of the variance in usage behavior. Effort expectancy and self-efficacy variables did not significantly contribute to the model

By incorporating virtual team learning theory and technology acceptance research, faculty can develop such strategies. An examination of a virtual team learning theory and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) is provided.     Meta-Analysis of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT): Challenging its Validity and Charting A Research Agenda in the Red Ocean

    There are both formal and informal cries that UTAUT and by association the stream of research on technology adoption has reached its limit, with little or no opportunities for new knowledge creation. Such a conclusion is ironic because the theory has not been sufficiently and suitably replicated. It is possible that the misspecifications in the various replications, applications, and extensions led to the incorrect conclusion that UTAUT was more robust than it really was and opportunities for future work were limited. Although work on UTAUT has included important variables, predictors and moderators, absent a faithful use of the original specification, it is impossible to assess the true nature of the effects of the original and additional variables. The present meta-analysis uses 25,619 effect sizes reported by 737,112 users in 1,935 independent samples to address this issue. Consequently, we develop a clear current state-of-the-art and revised UTAUT that extends the original theory with new endogenous mechanisms from different, other theories (i.e., technology compatibility, user education, personal innovativeness, and costs of technology) and new moderating mechanisms to examine the generalizability of UTAUT in different contexts (e.g., technology type and national culture). Based on this revised UTAUT, we present a research agenda that can guide future research on the topic of technology adoption in general and UTAUT in particular
