A General Markup Framework for Integrity and Derivation Rules
We propose a general markup framework for integrity and derivation rules (R2ML).
Rule concepts are defined with the help of MOF/UML, a subset of the UML class
modeling language proposed by the Object Management Group (OMG)
for the purpose of \u27meta-modeling\u27, i.e. for defining languages conceptually on
the level of an abstract (semi-visual) syntax.
From these MOF/UML language models we can obtain concrete markup syntax
by applying a mapping procedure for generating corresponding languages
from parameterized DTDs
Authorization Framework for the Internet-of-Things
This paper describes a framework that allows fine-grained
and flexible access control to connected devices with very
limited processing power and memory.
We propose a set of security and performance requirements
for this setting and derive an authorization framework distributing
processing costs between constrained devices and less constrained back-end servers while keeping message exchanges
with the constrained devices at a minimum.
As a proof of concept we present performance results from
a prototype implementing the device part of the framework
Approaches Regarding Business Logic Modeling in Service Oriented Architecture
As part of the Service Oriented Computing (SOC), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a technology that has been developing for almost a decade and during this time there have been published many studies, papers and surveys that are referring to the advantages of projects using it. Representing Business Contracts in RuleML
This paper presents an approach for the specification and implementation of translating contracts from a human-oriented form into an executable representation for monitoring. This will be done in the setting of RuleML. The task of monitoring contract execution and performance requires a logical account of deontic and defeasible aspects of legal language; currently such aspects are not covered by RuleML; accordingly we show how to extend it to cover such notions. From its logical form, the contract will be thus transformed into a machine readable rule notation and eventually implemented as executable semantics via any mark-up languages depending on the client's preference, for contract monitoring purposes
State-of-the-art on evolution and reactivity
This report starts by, in Chapter 1, outlining aspects of querying and updating resources on
the Web and on the Semantic Web, including the development of query and update languages
to be carried out within the Rewerse project.
From this outline, it becomes clear that several existing research areas and topics are of
interest for this work in Rewerse. In the remainder of this report we further present state of
the art surveys in a selection of such areas and topics. More precisely: in Chapter 2 we give
an overview of logics for reasoning about state change and updates; Chapter 3 is devoted to briefly describing existing update languages for the Web, and also for updating logic programs;
in Chapter 4 event-condition-action rules, both in the context of active database systems and
in the context of semistructured data, are surveyed; in Chapter 5 we give an overview of some relevant rule-based agents frameworks
