© 2019 World Scientific Publishing Company. Social business processes support enterprises tap into the opportunities of Web 2.0. To ensure an efficient support, this paper presents an approach for identifying an enterprise\u27s business processes that could be converted into social. Indeed, not all processes are eligible for this conversion. The approach is built upon the concept of enterprise architecture that sheds the light on the necessary contextual elements for guiding the socialization of business processes. Due to the fuzzy nature of socialization, two multi-criteria decision making techniques, fuzzy logic and fuzzy-decision tree, enhance this guidance. A set of experiments for evaluating the proposed approach are presented in the paper, as well

Make improvements to external matters related to the company and especially the company's internal, starting from the procurement of materials to the delivery of products to consumers. Industry in Indonesia every year has increased and decreased in the food, agriculture, plantation, handicraft, and other sectors. In the agricultural industry, especially sugarcane which is processed into sugar, demand is increasing. Sugar is one of the strategic commodities in the Indonesian economy. One of the sugar manufacturing industries in Indonesia is PG. Semboro is located in Jember. PG Semboro has been in existence since 1955 and started producing sugar in 1958. Intense competition and increasing uncertainty as well as rapid changes in the business environment will have an impact on the complexity of business risks that must be faced by the company. Therefore PG. Semboro needs to know the risks that occur and determine the steps that must be taken in handling these risks. This study aims to identify risks and mitigate the risks that occur. The method used in risk identification and mitigation is risk assessment. The results obtained are that there are 21 risk events with 5 priority risk events and 5 proposed mitigation action strategies to handle and minimize the impact and possibility of risk occurrence

As institutions of higher learning respond to the rapidly changing demographics of its administrators, they must continuously find processes that improve the performance and effectiveness of these individuals. They must also begin to understand how the integration of coaching and/or mentoring shapes educational leaders and their institutions. From developing administrator’s potential to work well with others and strengthen communication, coaching also access to mobility, career advancements, promotions and pay increases. Of interest is the presence of female administrators in the California community colleges and the role that coaching plays in their ability to be effective educational leaders

the European Union and the diffusion of ideas

This paper sets out the research agenda of the Kolleg-Forschergruppe “The Transformative Power of Europe. The European Union and the Diffusion of Ideas”. The diffusion of ideas has become a central research theme in political science, sociology, law, history, and economics. In this context, the Kolleg-Forschergruppe focuses on the theoretical and methodological challenges of identifying scope conditions for and interaction effects between the various causal mechanisms by which ideas are spread across time and space. We concentrate on the European Union (EU) as an almost ideal laboratory for investigating processes and outcomes of diffusion. First, European integration itself can be described as an effort to promote the diffusion of ideas across Europe and beyond. Second, European societies and polities emulate each other through mimetic processes. Third, Europe and the EU also serve as active promoters of diffusion processes toward the outside world. Last not least, European integration is embedded in and responds to larger global diffusion processes. The Kolleg-Forschergruppe will explore the diffusion of ideas in three thematic areas: “identity and the public sphere,” “compliance, conditionality, and beyond,” and “comparative regionalism and Europe’s external relations”

The process of retaining leadership succession at higher education institutions (HEI) is crucial since it has entailed the process of selecting the ideal candidate. The goal is to guide universities toward maintaining organizations' excellence in their academic leadership and management (ALM) positions. Due to the lack of established standards for assessing the competency of possible successors at their home institutions, many ALM of Malaysia HEIs is difficult to identify the proper replacement for their posts. This study aims to propose a multi-criteria tacit knowledge acquisition framework (MC-TKAF) for supporting talent development intervention programs in Malaysia HEIs. It will be based on cognitive apprenticeship, socialization, and informal learning theory which is mostly used in acquiring knowledge from expertise to overcome talent bottlenecks among novices. Fuzzy Delphi will be used as the primary methodology in this study to gather agreement regarding the appropriate indicator to measure tacit knowledge competency among ALMs at Malaysian HEIs. There are three phases: Phase 1 involves analysing the current tacit knowledge acquisition (TKA) and identifying the appropriate parameters to build the intended framework. Phase 2 involves using the results of Phase 1 to create a new framework of tacit knowledge acquisition (TKAF) that is appropriate for the HEI environment. Phase 3's final objective is to assess the viability of the Talent Development Intervention Program's (TDIP) Tacit Knowledge Acquisition Framework (TKAF) utilizing the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach. This paper's goal is to offer the hybrid MCDM approach as a talent performance indicator for the multi-criteria tacit acquisition framework. The final Phase 3 of the study design will essentially be the subject of this paper. The built-in indicators in this document may be utilized as a guide for the HEI sectors to create talent performance metrics that are appropriate for each TKA applied

Configurations of Leadership Traits and Their Relation to Performance Ratings: A Person-Oriented Approach

The study of traits has re-emerged in the leadership literature despite its checkered past. There is now ample evidence that a variety of individual traits consistently relate to leadership effectiveness. Nonetheless, enormous ambiguity remains regarding the patterning of these traits within leaders and the implications of the various interactions among traits. A major contributor to these issues has been the failure to examine these traits within their founding theoretical context, as elements operating simultaneously as a configural system within the individual. Thus, this study examines the configurations of leadership traits in a sample of middle and upper-level managers. The main purposes of this paper are: 1) to describe clusters of within-person trait patterns in a sample of managers, and 2) to evaluate the extent to which these cluster profiles are related to performance ratings from a 360-degree feedback instrument and an assessment center. Results identified four stable clusters of managers based on the similarity of their leader trait patterns. The profile of each cluster was described and the following labels were provided: Action-Oriented Drivers, Interpersonal Achievers, Steadfast Introverts, and Apathetic Stoics. As hypothesized, these clustered displayed differences in both assessment center and multisource feedback ratings of leadership performance. For the most part, Interpersonal Achievers and Steadfast Introverts had the highest performance ratings across all dimensions and sources; however, a few interesting exceptions were revealed. Overall, results support the general premises of the person-oriented approach based on holistic interactionism theory. That is, a limited number of common trait patterns can be identified and used to describe individuals in leadership positions. In addition, based on the results of this study trait patterns assessed via a person-oriented approach are related to leadership performance and often provide a more precise explanation of leadership ratings than do individual or additive trait effects

Information Systems and Healthcare XXXIV: Clinical Knowledge Management Systems—Literature Review and Research Issues for Information Systems

Knowledge Management (KM) has emerged as a possible solution to many of the challenges facing U.S. and international healthcare systems. These challenges include concerns regarding the safety and quality of patient care, critical inefficiency, disparate technologies and information standards, rapidly rising costs and clinical information overload. In this paper, we focus on clinical knowledge management systems (CKMS) research. The objectives of the paper are to evaluate the current state of knowledge management systems diffusion in the clinical setting, assess the present status and focus of CKMS research efforts, and identify research gaps and opportunities for future work across the medical informatics and information systems disciplines. The study analyzes the literature along two dimensions: (1) the knowledge management processes of creation, capture, transfer, and application, and (2) the clinical processes of diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prognosis. The study reveals that the vast majority of CKMS research has been conducted by the medical and health informatics communities. Information systems (IS) researchers have played a limited role in past CKMS research. Overall, the results indicate that there is considerable potential for IS researchers to contribute their expertise to the improvement of clinical process through technology-based KM approaches
