    SCoRe: a Self-Organizing Multi-Agent System for Decision Making in Dynamic Software Developement Processes

    International audienceSoftware systems are becoming more and more complex. A common dilemma faced by software engineers in building complex systems is the lack of method adaptability. However, existing agent-based methodologies and tools are developed for particular system and are not tailored for new problems. This paper proposes an architecture of a new tool based on SME for self-constructing customized method processes. Our approach is based on two pillars: the process fragment and the MAS meta-model. These two elements are both defined and considered under a specific agent-oriented perspective thus creating a peculiar approach. Our work is based on the self-organization of agents, making it especially suited to deal with highly dynamic systems such as the design of an interactive and adaptive software engineering process

    Uncertainty of the implementation time of geodynamic monitoring system in multi-criteria ranking of alternatives

    The paper deals with the problem of ranking alternatives to geodynamic monitoring systems in the case of uncertainty of their implementation time. The problem is characterized by the fact that the choice of alternatives and the effect of it depends on the quality properties of the applied organizational and technical solutions, taking into account the time of implementation. The ordering of alternatives is proposed taking into account the uncertainty of the implementation time factors. Ranking is realized by comparing the trees of functional characteristics of alternatives taking into account the compliance of their characteristics with time-varying requirement

    Bi-Modal System Using SVM (Support Vector Machine) and MLP (Multilayer Perceptron) -Proposed

    In this era of high technological advancement, the need to identify an individual especially in the developing countries has long been an attractive goal. The necessity to secure an environments, devices and resources due to the increasing rate of crime has led to the proposal of this research. Iris modality has become interesting as an alternative approach to reliable visual recognition of persons due to its distinctive characteristics, as well as fingerprint modality for its innumerable advantages. Therefore a bi-modal biometric system using Qualitative SVM (Support Vector Machine) and MLP (Multilayer Perceptron) for classification has been proposed in this research. Performance analysis of these modalities will be carried out with each model. The designed models will be duly implemented using JAVA programming Language as a frontend and Access database as a backend respectively.     Unsupervised Statistical Learning of Context-free Grammar

    In this paper, we address the problem of inducing (weighted) context-free grammar (WCFG) on data given. The induction is performed by using a new model of grammatical inference, i.e., weighted Grammar-based Classifier System (wGCS). wGCS derives from learning classifier systems and searches grammar structure using a genetic algorithm and covering. Weights of rules are estimated by using a novelty Inside-Outside Contrastive Estimation algorithm. The proposed method employs direct negative evidence and learns WCFG both form positive and negative samples. Results of experiments on three synthetic context-free languages show that wGCS is competitive with other statistical-based method for unsupervised CFG learning

    A System for Deduction-based Formal Verification of Workflow-oriented Software Models

    The work concerns formal verification of workflow-oriented software models using deductive approach. The formal correctness of a model's behaviour is considered. Manually building logical specifications, which are considered as a set of temporal logic formulas, seems to be the significant obstacle for an inexperienced user when applying the deductive approach. A system, and its architecture, for the deduction-based verification of workflow-oriented models is proposed. The process of inference is based on the semantic tableaux method which has some advantages when compared to traditional deduction strategies. The algorithm for an automatic generation of logical specifications is proposed. The generation procedure is based on the predefined workflow patterns for BPMN, which is a standard and dominant notation for the modeling of business processes. The main idea for the approach is to consider patterns, defined in terms of temporal logic,as a kind of (logical) primitives which enable the transformation of models to temporal logic formulas constituting a logical specification. Automation of the generation process is crucial for bridging the gap between intuitiveness of the deductive reasoning and the difficulty of its practical application in the case when logical specifications are built manually. This approach has gone some way towards supporting, hopefully enhancing our understanding of, the deduction-based formal verification of workflow-oriented models.Comment: International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Scienc

    Normative Emotional Agents: a viewpoint paper

    [EN] Human social relationships imply conforming to the norms, behaviors and cultural values of the society, but also socialization of emotions, to learn how to interpret and show them. In multiagent systems, much progress has been made in the analysis and interpretation of both emotions and norms. Nonetheless, the relationship between emotions and norms has hardly been considered and most normative agents do not consider emotions, or vice-versa. In this article, we provide an overview of relevant aspects within the area of normative agents and emotional agents. First we focus on the concept of norm, the different types of norms, its life cycle and a review of multiagent normative systems. Secondly, we present the most relevant theories of emotions, the life cycle of an agent¿s emotions, and how emotions have been included through computational models in multiagent systems. Next, we present an analysis of proposals that integrate emotions and norms in multiagent systems. From this analysis, four relationships are detected between norms and emotions, which we analyze in detail and discuss how these relationships have been tackled in the reviewed proposals.
