Laboratory Evaluation of the Pathogenicity of \u3ci\u3eBeauveria Bassiana\u3c/i\u3e and \u3ci\u3eMetarhizium Anisopliae\u3c/i\u3e to Larvae of the Banded Sunflower Moth, \u3ci\u3eCochylis Hospes\u3c/i\u3e (Lepidoptera: Cochylidae).

Laboratory bioassays were conducted to assess the virulence of two entomopathogenic fungi, Beauveria bassiana, and Metarhizium anisopliae to 5th instars of the banded sunflower moth, Cochylis hospes,(Lepidoptera: Cochylidae). Temperature conditions of 20 and 25°C and high humidity, (near saturation) were nearly optimal for development of both fungi. Concentrations of 10(7) to 10(8) conidia/ml produced 100% mortality in 10 days or less and 106 conidia/ml produced 90% mortality at 21 to 26 days. Median lethal concentrations of conidia (LC50) from M. anisopliae were 3.6 x 103 at 25°C and 4.1 x 103 at 20°C. The LC50 for B. bassiana was 14.9 x 104 conidia/ml at 20°C and 6.7 x 103 conidia/ml at 25°C. Although B. bassiana tended to be less virulent at 20°C, these differences were not significant. The high humidities required for germination and growth may reduce the usefulness of these fungi as con­trol agents of C. hospes in the northern Great Plains. Further studies and field evaluations are needed to determine if there are microhabitats in the soil or on the sunflower head where the humidity is high enough for germination and growth of B. bassiana or M. anisopliae. Targeting of C. hospes stages in the soil to avoid contaminating the seed or oil with saprophytic fungal spores may be preferred to targeting the sunflower plant for reasons of preserving seed quality, marketing, and consumption

You heard a little bit about them from the former people who have done them, what special unique problems are involved in them and challenges the prosecutors face and what effect, if any

Creation of internetworking infrastructure has long since taken on an international character and Derek Law's essay serves to inform us of just how variable the effort may be from one nation to the next, given differences in political traditions and institutional structures, not to mention the character of educational traditions. The Follet program in the United Kingdom has placed a premium on broad access by end users different from the somewhat market driven approach in the United States. It has also taken advantage of the opportunities provided by central authority which may seem unthinkable in the United States. At the same time common values and strategies are also evident, particularly the commitment to strengthening the information (read "knowledge ") creating role of higher education and promoting training of students in advanced information skills as a direct benefit to healthy economic growth. Similarly, the goals of access without charge to institutional users and subscription based funding will be familiar to American librarians who continue to pursue these goals

PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KERJA PRAKTIKUM KUBIKEL TEGANGAN MENENGAH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI MAHASISWA PADA MATA KULIAH PRAKTEK INSTALASI LISTRIK INDUSTRI DI FAKULTAS TEKNIK UNIVERSITAS NEGERI YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui proses pengembangan lembar kerja praktikum, (2) mengetahui kelayakan dan (3) mengetahui keefektifan lembar kerja praktikum kubikel tegangan menengah (switchgear medium voltage 20 kV) yang telah dibuat untuk mendukung pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Praktik Instalasi Listrik Industri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pengembangan (research and development). Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan angket dan soal tes. Sementara teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif, yaitu dengan menganalisis data kuantitatif kemudian ditafsirkan dalam pengertian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) proses pengembangan lembar kerja praktikum dilakukan dalam empat tahapan utama yaitu menganalisis kebutuhan, merancang dan membuat lembar kerja, pengujian kelayakan serta pengujian keefektifan lembar kerja; (2) pengujian kelayakan dari ahli materi didapatkan nilai 89,58%, ahli media sebesar 84%, uji coba skala kecil mahasiswa didapatkan nilai 85% dan dari uji coba skala besar mahasiswa didapatkan nilai sebesar 87%. Berdasarkan dari nilai persentase tersebut secara keseluruhan didapatkan nilai persentase rata-rata sebesar 86,56% dengan kriteria “sangat baik” dan disimpulkan lembar kerja praktikum kubikel tegangan menengah (switchgear medium voltage 20 kV) ini layak digunakan untuk proses pembelajaran; dan (3) pengujian keefektifan dilakukan dengan membandingkan nilai posttest kelas eksperimen dengan nilai posttest kelas kontrol didapatkan hasil nilai t_hitung=8,935, yang jauh lebih besar dari〖 t〗_tabel=1,668, pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 (5%), sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan, penggunaan lembar kerja praktikum yang dikembangkan efektif digunakan untuk mendukung pembelajaran pada mata kuliah Praktik Instalasi Listrik Industri
