A New Relational Spatial OLAP Approach For Multi-resolution and Spatio-multidimensional Analysis of Incomplete Field Data

    Get PDF
International audienceIntegrating continuous spatial data into SOLAP systems is a new research challenge. Moreover, representation of field data at different scales or resolutions is often mandatory for an effective analysis. Thus, in this paper, we propose a logical model to integrate spatial dimensions representing incomplete field data at different resolutions in a classical SOLAP architecture

Improving Document Exchanges in the Supply Chain

Abstract. In order to help businesses to communicate fruitfully, we present a solution based on ontology alignment for integrating business documents. We focus on detecting and resolving semantic conflicts encountered during the integration process due to different terminologies used in xCBL, cXML and RosettaNet. Our contribution is to benefit from research in the ontology alignment area and considered as empirical study to test if alignment solution can overcome the heterogeneity problems between business systems. As case study, we apply alignment on purchase order ontologies, a common task of the supply chain

Modeling the creation of a Learning organization by using the Learning Organization Atlas Framework

    No full text
International audienceIn a continuously changing external environment, the learning organization can provide a competitive advantage. However, the concept has been largely criticized for the lack of guidelines and tools on how it could be developed. This undermines the opportunity for the development of the learning organization. This paper aims to contribute toward the debate on its creation by proposing a Learning Organization Atlas Framework approach. This framework comprises of the facets of the learning organization that characterize them, a Learning Organization Grid for the analysis and benchmarking of organizations, a Learning Organization Atlas that can be used for developing models of them, and a Learning Organization Road Map that includes the intentions of the organization and the strategies to achieve those intentions. With the framework and its four elements, we propose a method for modeling the learning organization and organizational change by providing embedded flexibility. The next level for research is in identifying the influence between different facets, strategy selection, and development of guidelines for models of learning organizations

Analysis of the ergonomics of e-commerce websites

The following paper includes research about ergonomics of e-commerce web applications. Main purpose of experiment was to compare existing application of Morele.net shop and developed prototype of application using eyetracking examination and survey. The study carried out on a group of 40 students provided heat maps, scan paths, number of fixations and saccades, times to the first fixation in area of interest, task completion times, assessments of both applications in the form of WUP indicators. Based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis, conclusions were drawn confirming the hypothesis put forward in the work that there is an impact of ergonomic placement of navigation elements on the accessibility and usability of the application, as well as the time of performing tasks in it

An Adaptation Technique for Multimedia Applications Based On the User Context to Manage the Service Quality

    Get PDF
Abstract-Currently, the adaptation of multimedia applications is necessary, because documents can be accessed at anytime and anywhere with a wide variety of devices, such as PDAs, laptops and tablets. Unfortunately, in most applications dedicated to this type of problem, are essentially based on the heterogeneity of the data (image, sound, text, video and encoding format for each type), related to a user context, the context of terminal and network receiver and transmitter. In this paper. We propose an architecture on-the-fly adaptation of multimedia documents. More precisely, we propose a procedure that selects the relevant adaptation policies to build a document adapted to ensure quality of service and to consider the limits users (physical handicap, preferences of users)

Spark solutions for discovering fuzzy association rules in Big Data

The research reported in this paper was partially supported the COPKIT project from the 8th Programme Framework (H2020) research and innovation programme (grant agreement No 786687) and from the BIGDATAMED projects with references B-TIC-145-UGR18 and P18-RT-2947.The high computational impact when mining fuzzy association rules grows significantly when managing very large data sets, triggering in many cases a memory overflow error and leading to the experiment failure without its conclusion. It is in these cases when the application of Big Data techniques can help to achieve the experiment completion. Therefore, in this paper several Spark algorithms are proposed to handle with massive fuzzy data and discover interesting association rules. For that, we based on a decomposition of interestingness measures in terms of α-cuts, and we experimentally demonstrate that it is sufficient to consider only 10equidistributed α-cuts in order to mine all significant fuzzy association rules. Additionally, all the proposals are compared and analysed in terms of efficiency and speed up, in several datasets, including a real dataset comprised of sensor measurements from an office building.COPKIT project from the 8th Programme Framework (H2020) research and innovation programme 786687BIGDATAMED projects B-TIC-145-UGR18 P18-RT-294
