    The annual flower trials were planted from 30 May through 4 June, 1999 in the Perennial Landscape and All America Selections Display Garden of the Georgeson Botanical Garden (64°51N, 147°52W). Fairbanks silt loam soil was fertilized with 1 0 -2 0 -2 0 S (4 lbs per 100 sq feet, 195 g per sq meter) on 28 May. With the exception of dahlias, all flowers were grown as seedling transplants and were hardened off outdoors for one week prior to transplanting.     Corrections to Quark Asymmetries at LEP

    The most precise measurement of the weak mixing angle sin^2(theta) at LEP is from the forward-backward asymmetry e+e- --> bbbar at the Z-pole. In this note the QED and electroweak radiative corrections to obtain the pole asymmetry from the measured asymmetry for b- and c-quarks have been calculated using ZFITTER, which has been amended to allow a consistent treatment of partial two-loop corrections for the b-quark final asymmetries. A total correction of dAfbb=0.0019+/-0.0002 and dAfbc=0.0064+/-0.0001 has been found, where the remaining theoretical uncertainty is much too small to explain the apparent discrepancy between sin^2(theta) obtained from Afbb and from the left-right asymmetry at SLD

    Relativistic mean field study of the properties of Z=117 nucleus and the decay chains of 293,294^{293,294}117 isotopes

    We have calculated the binding energy, root-mean-square radius and quadrupole deformation parameter for the recently synthesized superheavy element Z=117, using the axially deformed relativistic mean field (RMF) model. The calculation is extended to various isotopes of Z=117 element, strarting from A=286 till A=310. We predict almost spherical structures in the ground state for almost all the isotopes. A shape transition appears at about A=292 from prolate to a oblate shape structures of Z=117 nucleus in our mean field approach. The most stable isotope (largest binding energy per nucleon) is found to be the 288^{288}117 nucleus. Also, the Q-value of α\alpha-decay QαQ_\alpha and the half-lives TαT_{\alpha} are calculated for the α\alpha-decay chains of 293^{293}117 and 294^{294}117, supporting the magic numbers at N=172 and/ or 184.Comment: 6 Pages and 8 Figure

If the teacher wants to develop appropriate attitude and creativities in mathematics teaching learning it needs for him to develop innovation in mathematics teaching. The teacher may face challenge to develop various style of teaching i.e. various and flexible method of teaching, discussion method, problem-based method, various style of classroom interaction, contextual and or realistic mathematics approach. To develop mathematical attitude and creativity in mathematics teaching learning processes, the teacher may understand the nature and have the highly skill of implementing the aspects of the following: mathematics teaching materials, teacher’s preparation, student’s motivation and apperception, various interactions, small-group discussions, student’s works sheet development, students’ presentations, teacher’s facilitations, students’ conclusions, and the scheme of cognitive development.In the broader sense of developing attitude and creativity of mathematics learning, the teacher may needs to in-depth understanding of the nature of school mathematics, the nature of students learn mathematics and the nature of constructivism in learning mathematics.     Investigating the Factors Affecting Consumer Purchase Intention towards Halal Organic Food

    Organic food industry is currently one of the emerging markets around the world. People begin to realize the advantages of using organic instead of conventional food. Despite taking care of the environment, people are also concerned about their healthy lifestyle. The rising of Muslim consumers in the world has also attracts this industry to react in order to meet Muslims needs and preferences. Organic foods must have a Halal certification to please and win Muslim consumers. The purpose of this paper is to investigate factors, namely, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behaviour control and price that influence Muslim consumer’s purchase intention towards Halal organic food. To do this, questionnaires were distributed to 208 respondents that shop at organic stores in Penang, Malaysia during end of January until early February, 2019. The relationships between factors were investigated, this study using structural equation modelling (SEM) with partial least square (PLS) version 2.0. The study found that attitudes, perceived behaviour control and price have significant effects on consumers’ purchase intention of Halal organic food, while subjective norms was found to be insignificant. This study contributes to the body of literature by adding price as one of the independent variables to the Theory of Planned Behavior.     Teacher education in the UK in an era of performance management

    In common with all education systems world wide, those of the United Kingdom have been subject to rapid change and development in recent years. Much of the management of this change has been supported by methods, including performance management of individuals, borrowed from industrial or commercial spheres of activity (Peters et al, 1999). This has led to a redefinition of concepts of teacher professionalism. In the two principal UK systems - those of England (often itself referred to as the UK system) and Scotland - there have been different emphases in terms of managing and developing the profession, although concerns of staff development and professional accountability are encapsulated in both. In this paper we argue, firstly, that staff development - of whatever variety - has to result in better learning for young people within schools. Secondly, we assert that the construction of teacher professionalism is a contested area in the UK, both in terms of initial teacher education and in terms of continuing professional development and that there has to be a recognition of this debate. Ultimately, however, both sides need to come together to create systems which support and develop pupil learning
