Association Mining in Database Machine

Get PDF
Association rule is wildly used in most of the data mining technologies. Apriori algorithm is the fundamental association rule mining algorithm. FP-growth tree algorithm improves the performance by reduce the generation of the frequent item sets. Simplex algorithm is a advanced FP-growth algorithm by using bitmap structure with the simplex concept in geometry. The bitmap structure implementation is particular designed for storing the data in database machines to support parallel computing the association rule mining

East of Eden: A Contractual Lens for an Unsettled Area of First Amendment Shunning Jurisprudence

The Free Exercise Clause was enacted for the purpose of protecting diverse modes of religious practice. One practice that numerous religious traditions observe is shunning—the expulsion and social exclusion of noncompliant individuals from a religious community. Yet because shunning usually involves concomitant harm to religious congregants, plaintiffs often bring religious-tort claims against religious entities for the injuries they suffer. This implicates free-exercise concerns for both the plaintiff and the religious-entity defendant. Despite the utmost importance of religious freedom in American jurisprudence, courts analyze religious-tort claims in widely disparate ways. And they typically rely on consent and membership as the basis for judicial decisionmaking. But these analytical lenses are flimsy and lead to unpredictable outcomes. At times, they are underprotective of religious plaintiffs; at others, they penalize religious entities and chill religious practices. In order to clarify a muddled sphere of free-exercise jurisprudence, courts should adopt a contract paradigm for analyzing shunning claims. A contract paradigm would lead to cleaner results and would uphold the integrity of religious institutions, which are necessary for religious individuals to thrive

Apparent timing and duration of the Matuyama-Brunhes geomagnetic reversal in Chinese loess

The Matuyama-Brunhes (MB) geomagnetic reversal in Chinese loess has been studied extensively as an important boundary for land-ocean stratigraphic and paleoclimatic correlations. However, the apparent timing and duration of the MB boundary remain controversial in Chinese loess deposits due to its inconsistent stratigraphic position and the uncertain chronologies. Here we synthesized high-resolution paleomagnetic records from four loess sequences in the central Chinese Loess Plateau and synchronized the loess-paleosol chronology by matching the grain-size variations to orbitally tuned grain-size time series. The synthesized paleomagnetic results reveal consistent features of the MB transition in Chinese loess, including the stratigraphic position (L8/S8 transition), timing (∼808–826 ka), duration (∼14–16 ka), and rapid directional oscillations. Compared with the MB transition in marine records (770–775 ka), the timing of the MB transition is relatively older and longer in Chinese loess, due to a complex interplay between different remanence acquisition mechanisms which occurred during the course of postdepositional physical and chemical processes.</p

Atlas of electron content values observed at Urbana, Illinois, 1 December 1967 - 30 December 1970

Ionospheric electron content versus local time data deduced from Faraday rotation observations of ATS-III geostationary satellite signals at Urbana, Illinois are reported. The data are presented in two forms. Values of subionospheric latitude (SILAT) and subionospheric longitude (SILON) are in degrees north and degrees west, respectively. These are computed on the basis of 350 km for the mean ionospheric height, which value is also used for the calculation of the geometric-magnetic factor, required for the conversion of the measured Faraday rotation angle to electron content. Entries of zero for the electron content in the tables represent no data for those times
