Short story "The Seeker of the Lost" by A. Platonov: spiritual and autobiographical contexts

Мотив недожитой жизни как знаковый элемент в поколенческой драме революционной эпохи (на примере жизни и творчества А. Платонова)

The article states that “unnoticeability” was just one of the modes of the revolutionary generation’s dramatic destiny of the early 20th century relating to the fate ofthe young emigration of the first wave. For the young people who remained in Russia and came to believe in the “cause of revolution”, the drama of their destiny manifested itself as an “underlived life”: the social and political situation in the country did not give the revolutionary generation an opportunity to reach an old age. The motif of an “underlived life” in all the complexity of its semantic projections was implemented in the work of A. Platonov. The statement is illustrated with reference to works of various genres: a novel (Happy Moscow), a play (Voice of the Father, A Student of the Lyceum), a short story (In Search of the Perished), and Platonov’s letters. The variety of genres increases the validity of the researcher’s position. The analysis of The Unnoticed Generation by V. Varshavsky and some correlations with the life and work of B. Poplavsky enables the author to conclude that the two vectors of the Revolutionary generation’s fate — the émigré (just barely marked by the author) and the Russian internal one — formed a single generational plot with the situation of under-realized / interrupted life in its centre.В статье проводится мысль о том, что «незамеченность» — лишь один из модусов драматической судьбы поколения революционной эпохи начала ХХ в., связанный с судьбой молодой эмиграции первой волны. Для молодого поколения людей, оставшихся на родине и уверовавших в «дело революции», драматизм судьбы раскрывался в варианте недожитой жизни: социально-политическая ситуация в стране не дала возможности революционному поколению дожить до старости. Во всей сложности смысловые проекции мотива недожитой жизни нашли воплощение в творчестве А. Платонова. Выдвинутое положение проводится на материале разных жанров: романного («Счастливая Москва»), драматургического («Голос отца», «Ученик лицея»), жанра рассказа («Взыскание погибших»), а также платоновских писем. Широта жанрового поля увеличивает доказательность исследовательской позиции. Привлечение к анализу проблемы книги В. Варшавского «Незамеченное поколение», некоторые сопоставления с биографией и творчеством Б. Поплавского привели к выводу, что два вектора судьбы революционного поколения: лишь намеченный нами эмигрантский и внутрироссийский — сложились в единый поколенческий сюжет, в центре которого оказалась ситуация недовоплощенной / оборванной жизни

Death in Russian Soldiers Correspondence (1939-1945): Reactions, Reflection and Practices of Justification

This paper analyzes soldiers' ruminations in their private correspondence about the death at war as an 'event' from the philosophical and anthropological perspective. It aims at recovering the value orientations and the moral principles, which are operative in their reflection about death. Conceptually, this research relies on the works of Petar Bojanić, Georg Simmel, Ivan Ilyin, Emmanuel Lévinas and Jürgen Habermas. The analysis focuses on the published letters of soldiers who took part in the Soviet-Finnish war (1939-1940) and the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). These texts shed light on the perception of death at war, conceptualizations of the death-related moral experience, the impact of religion and ideology on soldiers' reflection on death. It should be noted that the existing practice of analysis of such documents puts the main emphasis on the values formed by the Soviet ideology neglecting the impact of religious culture. © 2021 Matica Srpska. Коллекция иконных образцов в собрании Екатеринбургского музея изобразительных искусств

В статье дается обзор коллекции иконных образцов в собрании Екатеринбургского музея изобразительных искусств, происходящей из мастерской иконописца Трефилия Васильевича Филатова. Автор рассматривает иконографический репертуар образцов, уделяя внимание сюжетам, распространенным в старообрядческой иконописи. Среди опубликованных памятников уральской старообрядческой иконописи были обнаружены аналоги композициям некоторых иконных образцов. Определены стилистические особенности ряда иконных образцов, имеющих характерные черты художественного стиля невьянской иконописи. Также в статье приводится краткий обзор изученных филиграней на бумаге

The article presents a detailed analysis of the poem “Masterica vinovatykh vzorov…” with insights on the poetic technique of Mandel’shtam. Special attention is given to the Mandel’shtam’s use of metaphors, to the interplay of homonymous meanings and to the polyphonic structure of this poem that unifies different voices
