Comparative analysis of the problem of defining the criminal offense of terrorism in international law
The issue of defining terrorism as a criminal offense in international law raises numerous
controversies, and recent efforts to reach a consensus remain challenging and complex. This
article presents a comparative analysis of different approaches to defining terrorism within the
framework of international legal order. Taking into account various documents and
conventions, such as the UN Convention on Terrorism and General Assembly resolutions, the
article analyzes the issues that arise in attempts to establish a globally acceptable uniform
definition. The article also considers the differences between legal systems and the influence of
political interests on the definition of terrorism, as well as the legal consequences stemming
from various conceptual approaches. The primary aim of this paper is to examine the
shortcomings of international law and propose potential solutions that could contribute to
greater legal clarity and effectiveness in the global fight against terrorism.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin’s effect on wound healing after apicotomy
Introduction: In modern dentistry, damaged tissue can be replaced using autologous tissue transplantation (such as autologous bone or skin) or biomaterials (substitute materials for bone or skin reconstruction). Among the biomaterials used in bone tissue engineering, Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) has recently gained considerable attention. This study aims to demonstrate the superiority of PRF in the healing process following surgical interventions for the treatment of chronic periapical inflammatory processes.
Case description: A diagnosis of periapical chronic periodontitis was made in two patients, aged 16 and 48, and a treatment plan was developed. Surgical intervention (apicotomy) was performed on both patients. Venous blood was drawn from the patients, placed in a PRF centrifuge, and a biological material was obtained. The platelet-rich fibrin was subsequently applied to the lesions. X-rays were obtained prior to the intervention, as well as one month and two months post-procedure.
Discussion: Significant improvement in the condition of the alveolar bone, which had been destroyed during the pathological inflammatory process, was observed in both patients. Autologous platelet storage through PRF is an easy and cost-effective method for obtaining high concentrations of growth factors to promote tissue healing. Previous clinical experience confirms that PRF can be considered as biomaterial with therapeutic properties that accelerate physiological healing.
Conclusion/clinical significance: Currently available clinical evidence suggests that the healing rate of surgical sites reinforced with PRF is two to three times higher than that of standard surgical sites.
Key Words: PRF, apicotomy, periapical processes
Multilingualism and Bilingualism – Sociolinguistics Aspect
The aim of this paper is to analyze and compare typical speech and language development with the
bilingual/multilingual acquisition process. The analysis of this comparison is shaped and written based
on previous research and available literature on monolingualism, bilingualism and multilingualism. At
the end of the paper, similarities and differences in research on the influence of monolingualism and
bilingualism on developmental language disorders (DLD) are also presented
Impact of (poly)phenol-rich dietary sources on DNA damage: insights from human intervention studies using the Comet assay - a review and perspective
(Poly)phenols are plant-derived food bioactives abundantly present in human diet. They exert positive effects on various aspects of human health and in particular in reducing the risk of chronic non-communicable diseases. Dietary (poly)phenols have been reported to improve vascular function, blood lipids, insulin sensitivity and to decrease systemic inflammation. Evidence also suggests that (poly)phenols may exert protective effects on DNA, by reducing the extent of its damage. In recent years, advanced analytical methods, including transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics and metagenomics, have been employed to unravel the complex impact of (poly)phenols in health and disease. Advances in bioinformatics enable an integrated multi-omics approach to data analysis, opening avenues for discovering new, previously unknown molecular mechanisms of action. Innovative solutions and automation of the Comet assay offer new opportunities for more in-depth analysis of the impact of (poly)phenols on DNA damage and its inclusion in integrative bioinformatic models. Such an approach has the potential to uncover new multi-level interactions and to reveal previously unknown factors underlying inter-individual variabilities in health-promoting effects of (poly)phenols. This review provides an insight into the application of the Comet assay in human intervention studies using (poly)phenol-rich dietary sources. Recent advancements in the Comet assay technology and the prospects for more extensive use of this method in future human intervention studies with (poly)phenols could contribute to the development of personalized dietary recommendations for these plant-derived food bioactives

Correlation of dental medicine students’ performance in preclinical and clinical courses
The main aim of this study was to investigate the correlations of final grades among dental students across three
academic courses, examining both their pre-clinical and clinical performances, and to determine the relationships
between their achievements in pre-clinical practical courses and clinical courses. The final preclinical and clinical
grades for 34 graduates from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Goce Delcev University in Stip, North Macedonia,
who studied dental medicine between 2020 and 2022 (appropriate generations), were retrieved. The study
examined three courses: one preclinical course, Preclinical Periodontology, and two clinical courses,
Periodontology 1 and Periodontology 2. Final grades for these courses were sourced from the students’
information system (e-index) and evaluated anonymously. Correlation analysis methods were applied to discover
the relationship between two variables/datasets, as well as the strength of that relationship. The data analysis
indicates a positive relationship between the grades of students in preclinical courses and their final grades in
clinical courses. In particular, it has been found that students with higher final grades in preclinical courses often
achieve higher final grades in clinical courses as well. However, it is important to note that many students
experience discrepancies in their final grades between the two clinical courses. Our research suggests a potential
positive correlation between preclinical and clinical performance, indicating that clinical outcomes may be
forecasted based on preclinical final grades. Additionally, students who demonstrate proficiency in the necessary
clinical procedures during the ninth semester tend to maintain that proficiency in the tenth semester. However, it
is important to acknowledge that the specific factors influencing this relationship were not explored in this study
and warrant further investigation
Immunotherapy in treatment of anaplastic thyroid cancer: a case report
This case report describes a 55-year-old woman with diagnosed anaplastic thyroid cancer(ATC).Initially, the patient was treated surgically, followed by rapid progression. After that radiation therapy wasperformed, andthe patient immediately progressesagain. It was decided that the patient should start chemotherapy while waiting for molecular tests due to the rapid growth of the cancer. After six cycles of chemotherapy in which the disease was stable progression occurredagainimmediately after discontinuation of chemotherapy.Molecular test shows PD-L1positive patientwithCPS score of 20% andshe was put on immunotherapy with pembrolizumab. After 1 year of immunotherapy treatment, PET CT scan showedmetabolic and morphological regression of tumor mass in the neck and cervical lymph nodes. The patient had a goodquality of life with no side effects throughout theimmunotherapy. In this case, we want to emphasize that immunotherapy can also be considered as choice of treatmentin anaplastic thyroid carcinomawho represents carcinomaswith high lethalityrat
English Language Testing: Validity, Reliability, and Communicative Competence
In English language instruction, testing is essential for assessing students' competency, monitoring their development, and promoting efficient teaching methods. It uses a variety of methods, from conventional written tests to contemporary computer-based evaluations, with the goal of gauging proficiency in speaking, writing, listening, and reading. Testing evaluates communicative competence and the capacity to utilise language in authentic contexts in addition to grammar and vocabulary. Reliability, validity, fairness, and reducing cultural prejudice are major issues in English language testing. In order to produce more accurate and significant findings, testing has progressively included technology and performance-based tasks in response to the rising demand for English around the world. In addition to measuring learning objectives, well-crafted assessments inspire students and raise the standard of education.
