    Pietro d’Aragona, De Vita, Moribus et Regimine Principum. Edizione Critica e commento

    The previous editions of De Regimine Principum by Peter of Aragon, though essential and valuable, were based on the normalized Latin of the only surviving eighteenth-century manuscript of the treatise, thus presenting a language inevitably distant from what the author himself might have used. I therefore aim to offer a contribution to the study of this work through a critical edition carried out by comparing the orthography of the text with that of another group of his writings, the Revelationes, of which we possess a manuscript contemporary with their composition and produced in a cultural and linguistic context much closer to that of the author. This process of comparison has made it possible to identify certain distinctive phonetic and grammatical features, and through careful analysis, it has been possible to reconstruct a version of the text that is hoped to be closer to the author’s original intent. Alongside the edition of the treatise, this work is accompanied by a biographical note and a brief commentary on the content and themes of the text.Le precedenti edizioni del De Regimine principum di Pietro d’Aragona, seppure imprescindibili e valide, si basavano sul latino normalizzato dell’unico manoscritto del secolo xviii che tramanda il trattato, presentando una lingua che risultava inevitabilmente distante da quella che poteva aver utilizzato l’autore. Mi propongo dunque di offrire un contributo allo studio di quest’opera attraverso un’edizione critica condotta confrontando la grafia del testo con quella di un altro suo gruppo di testi, le Revelationes, di cui possediamo un manoscritto coevo alla redazione e nato in un contesto culturale e linguistico molto più vicino a quello del suo autore. Questo processo di confronto ha permesso di identificare alcuni fenomeni fonetici e grammaticali peculiari, e attraverso una attenta analisi si è potuto ricostruire una versione del testo che si auspica essere più vicina all’intento originale dell’autore. Assieme all’edizione del trattato, si è voluto corredare questo lavoro con una nota biografica ed un breve commento sul contenuto ed i temi del testo

    Behavioural disruption in the educational context of the Balearic Islands

    Les alteracions de la conducta als centres educatius representen un dels reptes més complexos i a la vegada més difícils d’afrontar per part dels docents, per les repercussions significatives que pot tenir a l’àmbit escolar, social i familiar. Aquestes dificultats fan referència a la incapacitat de l’alumnat per controlar els seus impulsos i comportaments, la qual cosa fomenta l’aparició de conductes disruptives, desafiants, que poden arribar, fins i tot, a comportaments agressius, de forma física, verbal o relacional, ja sigui entre iguals, amb el professorat i fins i tot amb la família i resta de persones que conviuen amb l’alumnat afectat. L’objectiu principal d’aquesta investigació és definir què és una alteració conductual, en l’àmbit educatiu, diferenciant les conductes inapropiades dels possibles trastorns; determinar la prevalença de cada trastorn associat i les diferents variables que hi incideixen, i analitzar l’evolució actual de la prevalença dels trastorns greus de la conducta a l’escola pública, concertada i privada de l’Estat espanyol, comunitats autònomes i Illes Balears.Behavioural disorders in educational Settings represent one of the most complex and challenging issues for teachers, due to the significant repercussions they can have in the school, social, and family domains. These difficulties refer to the inability of students to control their impulses and behaviours, which fosters the emergence of disruptive and defiant conduct, leading to aggressive physical, verbal, or relational behaviour, whether among peers or with teachers, family members or other people who interact with the affected students. The main objective of this research is to define what constitutes a behavioural disorder in the educational context, distinguishing inappropriate behaviours from potential disorders; to determine the prevalence of each associated disorder and the various influencing factors indole; and to analyse the current trends in the prevalence of severe behavioural disorders in public, charter, and private schools in Spain, its regions, and the Balearic Islands in particular

    El manifest per a l’alfabetització estadística

    L’alfabetització estadística és essencial per a la formació de ciutadans capaços de comprendre i utilitzar informació estadística de manera eficaç. Aquest article presenta un manifest per a l’alfabetització estadística, destaca la importància d’aquesta en la societat actual i proposa mesures per millorar l’educació estadística a tots els nivells. Es discuteixen alguns errors estadístics comuns en els mitjans de comunicació, en els usos d’estadístics resum i en la selecció demostres. A més, es presenta un decàleg per promoure l’alfabetització estadística entre els ciutadans.Statistical literacy is essential to educating citizens to be able to effectively understand and use statistical information. This article presents a manifesto for statistical literacy, highlighting its importance in today’s society and proposing measures to improve education in statistics at all levels. It discusses some statistical errors common in the media, regarding the uses of summary statistics and sample selection. Additionally, ten principles are presented to promote statistical literacy for everybody

    Electronic correlation analysis using intracule functions

    Aquest treball explora la correlació electrònica, un concepte fonamental en l’anàlisi de les aproximacions que s’empren en mecànica quàntica per fer simulacions de processos químics. La correlació electrònica afecta tots els observables físics, i entendre aquest concepte és cabdal per poder realitzar simulacions cada cop més realistes. Per tal d’estudiar la correlació electrònica presentem la densitat de parells, que conté informació explícita sobre la interacció entre dues partícules. La densitat de parells, però, té la complicació d’estar definida en un espai de vuit dimensions i la seva anàlisi directa esdevé molt feixuga tant de calcular com d’interpretar. Per aquesta raó, introduïm el concepte forat de McWeeny, que fixa la posició d’un electró, i el concepte funció intracular, que porta a la definició del forat de Coulson. Ambdós mètodes redueixen la dimensionalitat del problema i ofereixen un dibuix intuïtiu de la correlació electrònica, que analitzem en sistemes model. No obstant això, l’estudi s’acaba centrant en la descomposició del forat de Coulomb, que té l’avantatge de reduir a una les dimensions que cal estudiar i ofereix una relació directa amb un component de l’energia del sistema. Finalment, presentem un sistema model de la molècula d’hidrogen que el lector pot analitzar d’una manera exacta. Aquest marc conceptual permet aprofundir en la comprensió de la correlació electrònica i contribuir al desenvolupament de mètodes d’estructura electrònica que possibilitin fer simulacions més acurades.This study explores electronic correlation, a fundamental concept for analyzing the approximations used in quantum mechanics to simulate chemical processes. Electronic correlation affects all physical observables, and understanding this concept is key to enabling increasingly realistic simulations. To study electronic correlation, we present the pair density, which contains explicit information about the interaction between two particles. However, the pair density is defined in an eight-dimensional space, and its direct analysis is computationally demanding and difficult to interpret. For this reason, we introduce the concept of the McWeeny hole, which fixes the position of one electron, and the concept of the intracule function, which leads to the definition of the Coulson hole. Both methods reduce the dimensionality of the problem and offer an intuitive picture of electronic correlation, which we analyze in model systems. However, we ultimately focus the study on the decomposition of the Coulomb hole, which has the advantage of reducing the analysis to a single dimension and offers a direct connection to a component of the system’s energy. Lastly, we present a model system based on the hydrogen molecule that the reader can analyze exactly. This conceptual framework allows for a deeper understanding of electronic correlation and contributes to the development of electronic structure methods that enable more accurate simulations

     The fundamental goal of our research was to demonstrate that it was in Catalonia that advertising was first given the status of academic science in Spain in the opening decades of the 20th century, based on the knowledge and advances of the most industrialized countries, especially the USA. Our findings confirm three main lines of the proposed hypotheses, namely: a) the secondary role played by Spain in worldwide advertising theory; b) the national interest in adapting advertising studies in Spanish curricula, above all according to the contributions of Catalan theorists; and c) the leading role of the written press as a platform for the dissemination of advertising.Key words: advertising, mass communication, education, press, psychology.Original source: Comunicació.
