Behavioural disruption in the educational context of the Balearic Islands

Abstract

Behavioural disorders in educational Settings represent one of the most complex and challenging issues for teachers, due to the significant repercussions they can have in the school, social, and family domains. These difficulties refer to the inability of students to control their impulses and behaviours, which fosters the emergence of disruptive and defiant conduct, leading to aggressive physical, verbal, or relational behaviour, whether among peers or with teachers, family members or other people who interact with the affected students. The main objective of this research is to define what constitutes a behavioural disorder in the educational context, distinguishing inappropriate behaviours from potential disorders; to determine the prevalence of each associated disorder and the various influencing factors indole; and to analyse the current trends in the prevalence of severe behavioural disorders in public, charter, and private schools in Spain, its regions, and the Balearic Islands in particular
