男子大学生陸上競技選手を対象とした継続的な栄養サポートの報告

Our university provides nutritional support needed for all sports club members. In particular, we have been continuously providing nutritional support to students who belong to our university's track and field club for about three years. Sprints and Jump sports consume much more energy levels during training than during competitions. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasize nutritional support during training. They must receive the necessary nutrients in accordance with their daily training levels. Among the energy-producing nutrients, carbohydrates and proteins have developed guidelines and consensus statements for athletes. In other words, athletes can determine the amount of food they should consume according to their level of physical activity. This support included setting intake targets based on these evidences, and regularly conducting physical measurements and group/individual nutrition education. As a result, carbohydrate and protein intake has significantly improved. Also, lean body mass index improved slightly.departmental bulletin pape

Evaluation of Scenery from the Window of Local Railways Focusing on Hapi-Line Fukui

The segment from Ushinoya Station to Harue Station is highly rated for its natural beauty, while the section from Harue Station to Echizen Hanando Station scores lower due to urban influences. High levels of natural scenery are observed from Echizen Hanando Station to Sabae Station and from Takefu Station to Yunoo Station. In this study, a neural network is employed to evaluate the health of slabs and main girders in PC girder bridges and steel girder bridges in Fukui Prefectures. The networks are constructed to model the relationships between various deterioration factors and the overall health status, based on data from the second round of assessments. 剣道防具倉庫の細菌及びX線照射による殺菌と除臭方法の検討

Kendo protective gear warehouses in summer have peculiar and unpleasant odors. In this study, we investigated the causes of the odors in a protective gear warehouse and the methods to control them. Bacteria were collected from various types of protective gears and body suits stored in the warehouse. When they were cultured on the standard agar media, the similar unpleasant odors as the warehouse were perceived from the bacteria colonies. Although many kinds of species were identified based on their DNA sequences, a high percentage of spore-forming bacteria such as Bacillus cereus and Priestia megaterium were found. To control the unpleasant odors, Bacillus. cereus and Staphylococcus aureus (spore-non-forming bacteria) were irradiated with various intensities of X-rays. Although S. aureus strains were sterilized at 800 Gray, Bacillus cereus strains were sterilized at 9,000 Gray. Since X-ray irradiation of foods at 10,000 Gray or less has been reported to be safe, the irradiation of protective gears and body suits at 9,000 Gray was supposed to be practically useful conditions. We also found that dilute hydrochloric acid as well as hypochlorous acid reduced the bad odors. This paper was study of the samurai residences of the ISONO-Tamiya family and SHIBUYA-Gonzaemon family, former Matsuoka clan members. Both families lived in Osensui-Machi, the residential district of the senior samurai, for about 140 years after moving to Fukui Castle Town. Both the ISONO-Tamiya and SHIBUYA-Gonzaemon families serve as YORIAI-SEKI in the Fukui Clan. Both families were adjacent to each other in both Matsuoka and Fukui castle towns, with the Isono-Tamiya family to the north and the Shibuya-Gonzaemon family to the south.departmental bulletin pape

剣道防具倉庫から単離された細菌が発する悪臭物質の同定とかびの生育への影響

Bacteria-emitting malodors were detected in the kendo protective gear warehouse. In this study, structures of the malodors were analyzed by using headspace Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results showed that various species of the bacteria commonly and mainly produced organosulfur compounds such as methanethiol, dimethyl disulfide (DMDS), and dimethyl trisulfide (DMTS) as volatile organic compounds（VOCs）. When the VOCs were collected at 37°C in GC-MS, DMDS was the major substance, whereas when they were collected at 80°C, DMTS was the major one, suggesting that temperature-induced structural changes from DMDS to DMTS occurred. To clarify the function of these organosulfur compounds, the bacteria were respectively incubated with two kinds of fungi. The VOCs significantly inhibited growth of Aspergillus parasiticus 95DM as well as Penicillium citrinum MI190. The organosulfur compounds also inhibited the same fungal growth. These results indicated that these bacteria inhibit fungal growth by producing these organosulfur compounds such as DMDS and DMTS in nature.departmental bulletin pape

越前町における集約バイオマスメタン発酵の経済性検討

The economic feasibility of an integrated methane fermentation facility was investigated by applying the Ishikawa model cost function to Echizen Town, where many treatment facilities exist after the merger of towns and villages. It was found that sludge alone is economically disadvantageous, but the addition of the entire amount of food waste generated can be economically advantageous. On the other hand, when processing 30% of the food waste, the costs for the existing facilities were same as those for the integrated Ishikawa model. Since food waste is often incinerated as combustible waste, a future challenge is how to collect it. Other biomass such as fishery waste, pruned branches and mowed grass should also be considered as targets for methane fermentation.departmental bulletin pape

RGB解析法を用いたPVA-KIゲル線量計の線量評価研究

In cancer treatment using radiation, radiation visualization is an essential technology for accurately evaluating dose distribution. In this research, we developed a new measurement system that combines a blue organic EL light source specialized for PVA-KI gel dosimeters and a digital camera using a macro lens. Using this system, we imaged a PVA-KI gel irradiated with X-rays. The captured image was converted to RGB values. By comparing the photon count results obtained by ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy with the B value of RGB values, we clarified the relationship between the B value and the absorbed dose.departmental bulletin pape

エコデバイスとしてのシクロデキストリンポリマー層を含むフィルム型有機EL素子の作製と評価 －TPD/Alq3系－

In this study, we present findings on the production and evaluation of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices featuring cyclodextrin polymer layers. These devices were composed of N, N'-Bis(3-methylphenyl)-N, N'-bis(phenyl)-benzidine (TPD), cyclodextrin polymers (α-, β-, γ-CDP), Tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3), LiF, and Al, deposited onto ITO PEN films substrates. With CDP present, the OLEDs emitted green light due to the fluorescence of TPD and Alq3, achieving a peak brightness of 3444 cd m-2. Our investigation suggests that the enlargement of the cavity size, weakening the encapsulation effect, facilitates the extraction of fluorescence. Moreover, we verified that the existence of CDP induces structural alterations at the interface, impacting the pathways of energy transfer during the excited state process of OLEDs. These discoveries offer significant insights into the design and potential applications of OLEDs, spanning various sectors including space technology and the evolving landscape of organic electronics.departmental bulletin pape

This report summarizes one of the contents of the sport coaching class based on the "Model Core Curriculum for Coach Development" in university education. Sixteen lessons of "Sport Coaching Theory" were conducted based on the "Model Core Curriculum for Coach Development". Based on the "Model Core Curriculum for Coach Development," classes can be more motivating to students than lecture-style classes through active learning class. In addition, the content related to training needs to be taught not only in "Sports Coaching Theory" but also in cooperation with other classes.
