Abstract

This paper was study of the samurai residences of the ISONO-Tamiya family and SHIBUYA-Gonzaemon family, former Matsuoka clan members. Both families lived in Osensui-Machi, the residential district of the senior samurai, for about 140 years after moving to Fukui Castle Town. Both the ISONO-Tamiya and SHIBUYA-Gonzaemon families serve as YORIAI-SEKI in the Fukui Clan.
