Rebuilding the Role of Regional Universities in the Depopulation Society: Focusing on the Supply of Human Resources for Local Communities
人口減少社会における大学の役割のうち,地域創生人材の育成に注目して4地域(事例地域3,対照地域1)の高校生の進路希望調査を実施した。本稿の前半では,進路希望調査から,高校生の進路希望,進学希望分野,進学にともなう地域移動,大学等を卒業後に働きたい場所,つきたい仕事などを分析して,地域における専門人材の育成のあり方を検討した。後半では,家庭の経済的格差の改善を目的とする高等教育政策が,地域創生人材の育成にかかわる地域間格差を拡大する危険性について,保育士養成を事例として政策の影響を検討した。In this study, we focused on the role of regional universities in supplying human resources for the local communities in the depopulation society. We surveyed the career aspirations of high school students in four areas far from metropolises where students tend to leave for higher education. We analyzed the aspirations of high school students in these regions, including their career paths, fields of study, regional mobility, and jobs and workplace areas after graduating from universities. Among the higher education policies being planned, the student financial support policies will reduce the supply of local human resource. We examined the childcare professional training as an example.
The major results are as follows.
1. In the above areas, there are many high school students who wish to attend local universities. There are also many students who want to attend universities in urban areas and find jobs locally. There is a mismatch between high school students' hopes for employment after graduating from university, and the demand for human resources in the local areas. Although it is not necessary to develop all specialized human resources locally, it is better to develop some fields within the region.
2. Departments that train childcare workers are popular among students, because they can easily find employment locally. MEXT (the ministry of education in Japan) plans not to offer free tuition to a university which the number of enrolled students is less than 80% of enrollment capacity. However, 35% of childcare departments nationwide fall under this condition. As students avoid courses that are not free, such courses will close and the supply of childcare workers will decline. Trial of Virtual Flipped Classroom in Cross-border Pre-enrollment Education and Future Challenges
2020年度から「国境を越えた「仮想反転授業」による留学前教育に関する実証研究」をスタートさせた。これまで、本研究の第1フェーズとして、留学を希望する国外の大学生を対象とした「仮想反転授業」という学習スタイルを如何に捉えているのかについての調査研究、第2フェーズとして、日本における大学の入学前教育の取り組みの効果測定を、それぞれ行ってきた。本稿では、本研究の第3フェーズの前半にあたる「仮想反転授業」による留学前教育プログラムの試行について報告すると共に、その効果検証に向けての今後の課題を示す。From 2020, we have started empirical research on pre-overseas education by cross-border" virtual flipped classroom". The first phase of this study is a survey and research on how university students in other countries who hope to study abroad perceive the learning style of "Virtual Flipped Classroom". The second phase is a measurement of the effectiveness of pre-enrollment education programs at universities in Japan. This paper reports on the first half of the third phase, a trial of a pre-study abroad education program using "virtual flipped classrooms," and presents future issues to be addressed in order to verify the effectiveness of this program.departmental bulletin pape
Construction of fieldwork-based learning - to involve and connect students
AA12939280In recent years, many universities have begun to offer fieldwork-based learning as a liberal arts course that is open to all students. Despite the high educational effectiveness, teachers are also faced with the problem of how to involve students who have little motivation for the region nor its research with the fieldwork. With the prospect of collecting examples of other teachers' efforts, I present my trials and tribulations in this paper, including "field clips", "field comics", "pre-research", " handover PBL" and "fail-able PBL". From those trials and errors I can extract "three connections" to involve students with fieldwork. These are: making connections with residents before the prior learning, connecting prior learning with the previous year's participants' survey results, and connecting deliverables to the online worlddepartmental bulletin pape
Example report about the life in the African village area : One example in the Republic of Uganda
I performed volunteer activity of the elementary school administration in a village of the western part of Republic of Uganda for 4 months in 2005. I spent the time in the same schedule and ate the same things as a boarding student during the activity period. The living standard there was under the absolute poverty line obviously when I estimated an expenditure amount, but I was able to enjoy it without any problem. Based on experience of this time, I provide a one example about the life in the village part in Africa.2005年9月から12月末までの4か月,アフリカ・ウガンダ共和国西部の村で,小学校運営のボランティア活動を行った.活動期間中は寄宿生と同じスケジュールで,同じものを食べて過ごした.支出金額を推計すると,明らかに絶対的貧困ラインを下回っていた.この時の経験に基づき,アフリカの農村部における生活についての一事例を提供する.departmental bulletin pape
A Critical Examination of Views of Language from the Perspectives and Ways of Thinking Pertinent to Foreign Languages and Japanese Language
新学習指導要領において,外国語科と国語科の連携に関する内容が明記された。本稿では,外国語科と国語科における言語観の育成について,教科・科目固有の「見方・考え方」に見られる言語観について批判的に検討を行った。国語教育(国語科)では知識体系(言語の構造と機能)中心から表現中心へ,英語教育(外国語科)では知識体系中心から伝達中心へ,という流れで小学校,中学校,高校段階で,児童生徒の認知の発達段階を考慮し,ゆるやかに言語観が変容していくような指導が望ましいと結論づけた。The new Course of Study clearly outlines the collaboration between foreign languages and the Japanese language. This study critically examines the language perspectives in the subject-specific “perspectives” and “ways of thinking” in the development of language perspectives in a foreign language and the Japanese language. It was determined that it would be preferable for Japanese language education to transition from an emphasis on language knowledge systems (such as structure and function of language) to a focus on expression, and for English language education to shift its emphasis from knowledge systems to communication. This approach would facilitate the gradual transformation of language perspective at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels, taking into consideration the cognitive developmental stages of pupils and students.departmental bulletin pape
Attitude survey about “Well-being” in the university student ― The first report. About association with ‟Well-being” and the mental and physical ‟health degree” and stress tolerance ―
今回の研究では、220名の大学生(平均年齢19.1歳)について、Google FormによるWell-beingに関する意識調査を通して、「幸福度」、「健康度」および「ストレス状態」の3者の関連性について比較検討を行った。その結果、大学生においては、「幸福度」が「高い」と回答した学生が49.7%となった。また約半数の学生が、幼少時および学童期から大学生となった現在まで、総じて幸福度の高い人生を送ってきたものと推察された。多くの学生は、「中学生時代」および「大学生時代の現時点」に比して、「幼少期から学童期」および「高校生時代」の方が、「幸福度」が高く、「幼少期から学童期」および「高校生時代」は、より幸せかつ充実した時期であったことが窺われた。一方で、約3割の学生は、現在までの期間、総じて「幸福度」の低い人生を送ってきたものと推察された。次に「幸福度」と心身の「健康度」の両者における相関関係について検定を行ったところ、強い正の相関が示された。また「幸福度」、心身の「健康度」および「ストレス状態」の3者についても、相互に相関がみられた。以上より、「幸福度」と心身の「健康度」は表裏一体の関係にあり、特に心身の「健康度」と「ストレスの状態」は、表裏一体の密接な関係にあることが判明した。従って、「ストレス状態」の変化が心身の「健康度」の良し悪しに大きな影響を与え、また心身の「健康度」が「幸福度」に反映されるものと考えられた。なお、ストレスに対する正しい対応が出来ないか、あるいは見つけられない学生が増加していることが示唆され、ストレスコーピングによる対応が非常に重要であるといえる。In this study, "Well-being" weighed it about tripartite association of "a healthy degree" and "the stress tolerance" through an attitude survey about "Well-being" by Google Form about 220 university students (average age 19.1 years old). As a result, in the university student, the student that "Well-being" replied, "it is high" became 49.7%. In addition, until the present when about half of students became a university student from in childhood and the schoolchild period, it was guessed that I sent the life when the “Well-being” was high generally. "Well-being" was higher in the schoolchild period and "high school days" from the childhood period than "junior high school days" and "the present of college student days", and, as for many students, it was indicated to have been happier and substantial time in for the schoolchild period and "high school days" from period for childhood. On the other hand, it was guessed that the student of about 30% spent the low life of the “Well-being" generally during a period to date. After examining it about the correlation in "Well-being" and both of "the health degree" mental and physical next, strong equilateral correlation was shown. Of "a health degree" again mental and physical "Well-being" and "the stress tolerance" even if tripartite, arrived, correlation was seen mutually. The mental and physical "health degree" had a one and indivisible relation with "Well-being" than the above, and it became clear that the particularly mental and physical "health degree" and "state of the stress" were in a one and indivisible close relation. Therefore, a change of "the stress tolerance" had a big influence on the mental and physical good or bad of "the health degree", and it was thought that a mental and physical "health degree" was reflected again by "Well-being". In addition, it is suggested that the students who cannot give a right response, or cannot find it for the stress increase, and it may be said that the correspondence with the stress coping is very important.departmental bulletin pape
For a Comparative Sociology of the "Reality" of Special Effects : Sorting out points of Plastic Reality (Turnock, 2015)
As a stepping stone to develop a comparative sociological study of the "reality" of special effects, this article sorts out points of Plastic Reality: Special Effects, Technology, and the Emergence of 1970s Blockbuster Aesthetics by Julie Turnock. This book discusses the aesthetics of special effects in big-budget commercial feature films, known as blockbusters, in the post-1970s era. Three main issues are discussed in this paper: 1) the technical and industrial context and aesthetics of blockbuster films, 2) storytelling and the provision of visual experiences, and 3) the aesthetics of stop motion animation.
From the late 1960s to the 1970s the technology that the author calls “optical animation”was developed, and naturalism was favored. These factors influenced the aesthetics of special effects, with “photorealism” and “kineticism” as elements. In Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, these elements are combined to visually construct a movie world. On the other hand, while stop motion animation is no longer mainstream due to the new aesthetics of special effects, its “not-too-realism” is uniquely suited to accomplished storytelling.
These findings make this book an essential reference for studies of the aesthetics of Japanese special effects. In addition, comparing the two aesthetics of special effects could also raise important sociological issues.本稿では、特撮の「リアリティ」について比較社会学的な考察を展開するための足掛かりとして、J. TurnockによるPlastic Reality: Special Effects, Technology, and the Emergence of 1970s Blockbuster Aestheticsの論点整理を行う。本書は、ブロックバスター映画と呼ばれる大規模予算で製作された長編商業映画における1970年代以降の特殊効果の美学を論じている。このうち、本稿では次の三つの論点を取り上げる。すなわち、1) 技術的・産業的背景とブロックバスター映画の美学、2)物語の伝達と視覚体験の提供、3)ストップ・モーション・アニメーションの美学、である。
1960年代後半から1970年代にかけて、著者が「オプティカル・アニメーション」と呼ぶ技術が開発され、自然主義が流行し、これらが「フォトリアリズム」と「キネティシズム」を要素とする特殊効果の美学の形成に影響を与えた。『スター・ウォーズ』や『未知との遭遇』では、これらの要素が組み合わされ、映画の世界を視覚的に構築している。一方、この美学の登場によって、ストップ・モーション・アニメーションは主流から外れることになった。だが、ストップ・モーション・アニメーションの「リアルすぎない主義」は、物語の伝達を独特の方法で達成している。
これらの知見は、日本の特撮の美学を研究する際に重要な参照点となる。また、両者の美学を比較することで、社会学的な問題にアプローチすることも可能だろう。departmental bulletin pape
How do Newspaper Articles Represent Ethnic Towns : Case Study of Korea Town in Ikuno-ku, Osaka City
The purpose of this study is to analyze newspaper articles about ethnic towns in Japanese society. As a representative example of an ethnic town, this study uses "Ikuno Korea Town" in Ikuno Ward, Osaka City, as a case study. The survey covered articles in the Asahi Shimbun and the Yomiuri Shimbun. The analysis revealed that the number of newspaper articles on Ikuno Korea Town increased in the 2000s. In this paper, through text-mining analysis, we examined the pattern of the words associated with Ikuno Korea Town in the newspapers. As a result, words that evoke the image of Ikuno Korea Town as a town of Koreans were extracted from many articles on Ikuno Korea Town. Specifically, they were words related to "multicultural coexistence" such as Koreans, history of Korea Town, ethnic festivals, and ethnic education. In addition, words related to tourism, such as shopping streets, food culture, and the Korean boom,were also found. Noteworthy in the analysis of this paper is Ikuno Korea Town, which appears in articles on political situations and sporting events. Among them, we found a pattern of newspaper articles in which "Korean residents in Japan are asked to comment on the political situation in South and North Korea.本研究の目的は、日本社会におけるエスニックタウンのイメージについて、新聞記事をとおして分析することである。本研究では、エスニックタウンの代表的な例として、大阪市生野区にある「生野コリアタウン」を分析した。分析の結果、2000年代以降に生野コリアタウンについての新聞記事が増加していることがわかった。そして、テキストマイニングによる分析の結果からは、新聞での生野コリアタウンのイメージとそのパターンを見出すことができた。departmental bulletin pape
An Attempt at Formal Semantic Analysis of Kinship Terminology by Computer
In 1971, H. W. Scheffler and F. G. Lounsbury developed a formal semantic analysis of kinship terminology. It had many merits, but it was difficult to deploy manually its vast procedures, and it was not widely used. Now I have wrote a computer program to perform Formal Semantic Analysis automatically. By this program, I would like to reevaluate the merits and possibilities of formal semantic analysis, especially in cross-cultural understanding and kinship studies.departmental bulletin pape
