Neki osobni prediktori suicidalnosti studenata
Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio ispitati odnos razmišljanja o samoubojstvu, osobina
ličnosti i razloga za život kod studentica. Kao mjera za ispitivanje razmišljanja o
samoubojstvu se koristio Upitnik razmišljanja o samoubojstvu za odrasle (ASIQ, Reynolds
1991), a za procjenu važnosti pojedinih razloga za život Upitnik razloga za život za studente
(CSRLI, Westefeld i sur., 1992), koji su prevedeni na hrvatski jezik. U prvom dijelu
istraživanja, u kojem je sudjelovalo 374 sudionika (72 studenta i 302 studentice), pristupilo se
psihometrijskoj provjeri tih dvaju mjera. Eksploratornom faktorskom analizom je potvrđena
jednofaktorska struktura ASIQ upitnika, dok je kod CSRLI upitnika izlučeno 5 faktora,
odnosno jedan manje u odnosu na izvornu verziju. U drugom dijelu istraživanja, u kojem je
sudjelovalo 245 studentica, za ispitivanje osobina ličnosti je primijenjena hrvatska verzija
upitnika IPIP-50 (Mlačić i Goldberg, 2007) te Upitnik općih podataka. Analizom varijance je
utvrđeno da studentice s manjom učestalošću razmišljanja o samoubojstvu razloge za život na
podljestvicama Vjerovanje o preživljavanju i suočavanju, Briga za studij i budućnost,
Moralno protivljenje i Odgovornost prema obitelji i prijateljima procjenjuju značajno
važnijim za nepočinjenje samoubojstva od studentica s većom učestalošću razmišljanja o
samoubojstvu. Također, utvrđeno je da studentice s manjom učestalošću razmišljanja o
samoubojstvu postižu značajno veće rezultate na dimenzijama ekstraverzije i emocionalne
stabilnosti u odnosu na studentice s većom učestalošću razmišljanja o samoubojstvu. Nadalje,
kao značajni prediktori u objašnjenju varijance razmišljanja o samoubojstvu su se pokazali
emocionalna stabilnost te podljestvice CSRLI upitnika – Vjerovanje o preživljavanju i
suočavanju te Moralno protivljenje. Ekstraverzija, savjesnost i ugodnost su bile povezane sa
svim podljestvicama CSRLI, osim sa podljestvicom Straha od samoubojstva i socijalnog
neodobravanja. Emocionalna stabilnost je bila povezana sa podljestvicama Vjerovanje o
preživljavanju i suočavanju te Moralno protivljenje.The aim of this study was to investigate the relation between suicidal ideation,
personality traits and the reasons for living among students. Adult Suicidal Ideation
Questionnaire (ASIQ, Reynolds 1991) was used as a measure for examining the suicidal
ideation, and College Students' Reasons for Living Inventory (CSRLI, Westefeld et al., 1992)
was used for the assessment of importance of the individual reasons for living, and both of
them were translated in Croatian. In the first part of the study, in which 374 participants (72
male students and 302 female students) took part in, the psychometric evaluation of two
measures was carried out. Exploratory factor analysis revealed the one-factor structure of
ASIQ, while 5-factors were extracted in CSRLI, i.e., one less compared to the original
version. In the second part of the study, in which 245 female students participated, among
ASIQ i CSRLI, the Croatian version of International Personality Item Pool – IPIP 50 (Mlačić
i Goldberg, 2007) was used for the investigation of personality traits, along with some of
sociodemographic data. One-way ANOVA showed that the female students with less
frequency of suicidal ideation, the reasons for living on the subscales Survival and Coping
Beliefs, College and Future-Related Concerns, Moral Objections and Responsibility to
Friends and Family evaluate significantly more important for not committing the suicide
compared to the female students with more frequency of suicidal ideation. Also, there was
established that the female students with less frequency of suicidal ideation achieved
significantly higher results at the dimensions of extraversion and emotional stability in
relation to the female students with more frequency of suicidal ideation. Further, it was shown
that emotional stability and CSRLI subscales – Survival and Coping Beliefs and Moral
Objections are significant predictors in explaining the variance of the suicidal ideation.
Extraversion, conscientiousness and agreeableness were related with all CSRLI subscales,
except with the subscale Fear of Suicide and Social Disapproval. Emotional stability was
related with the subscales Survival and Coping Beliefs and Moral Objections
Processing Croatian Aspectual Derivatives
The main objective of this paper is to detect and describe major derivational processes and affixes used in the derivation of aspectually connected Croa-tian verbs. This kind of analysis is enabled by previous detection of verbal derivational families, i.e. families of verbs with the same root as well as the derivational affixes they contain. Using NooJ, we automatically detect such derivational processes and assign the aspectual tag to derivatives. The proce-dure is based on the list of selected base forms and derivatives, on the list of derivational affixes and their allomorphs, and on the set of derivational rules. For this objective we selected 15 verbal derivational families comprising app. 250 derivatives in total. The output is being used for the development of a large on-line database of Croatian aspectual pairs, triples and quadruplets. Such a resource will be valuable for various research works in lexicology and lexicography
Pisanje rukom kao kognitivni proces
Teza 'medij je poruka' kanadskog filozofa i mislioca Marshall McLuhana je jedna od centralnih teorijskih polazišta u mom diplomskom radu. McLuhan razvio je teorijske koncepte 'vrućih' i 'hladnih' medija na koje ću se okvirno osvrnuti te pokušati upotrijebiti za dekonstrukciju značenja dvaju medija, 'pametnih telefona' i, po meni, u današnje vrijeme sve više zapostavljene tehnike bilježenja informacija vlastitim rukopisom.
Također, kroz prizmu kognitivne antropologije dodatno ću naglasiti sam fenomen čovjekove pismenosti kao nužnog preduvjeta za razvoj sposobnosti logičkog, kritičkog promišljanja te racija u širem smislu. Pisani jezik kao dekontekstualizirani oblik samog jezika ističem kao bitan faktor za tu tezu. Navest ću i neka osnovna težišta i polazišta kognitivne antropologije kao znanosti
Pseudonyms in library catalogs
Ovaj rad bavi se problemom pseudonimije u bibliotekarskoj praksi. U prvom dijelu fokus je na teorijskom razrješavanju samog pojma pseudonima te njemu srodnih pojmova heteronima, egzonima i endonima. Zatim je prikazan način za postupanje s pseudonimima u katalogizaciji naveden u Pravilniku i priručniku za izradbu abecednih kataloga Eve Verone, a potom se upozorilo na moguću interferenciju s pravima pojedinca na privatnost. U drugom i najvećem dijelu rada prikazano je postupanje s pseudonimima u knjižničarskoj praksi. Za ilustrativne primjere uzeti su Voltaire, Mark Twain, E.L. James i Nora Roberts te su se njihova djela pretraživala u katalozima osam velikih knjižnica. Rezultati pretraživanja ukazali su na određene neujednačenosti između pretraživanja s pseudonimom i pretraživanja s pravim imenom, a osobito su izražene u predmetnom pretraživanju.This paper deals with the problem of pseudonymity in library practice. In the first part the focus is on the theoretical resolution of the concept of pseudonyms and related terms heteronyms, exonyms and endonyms. Then the method for dealing with pseudonyms in the cataloging listed in the A Code and manual for compiling alphabetical catalogues of Eva Verona is presented. Furthermore, the possibility of the previous interfering with the individual's rights to privacy is mentioned. In the second and major part of the paper, the handling with pseudonyms in library practice is shown. Voltaire, Mark Twain, E.L. James and Nora Roberts are taken for examples and their literary works are searched in the catalogs of eight large libraries. Search results point to specific disparities between searching with a pseudonym and searching with a real name, and those are especially expressed in subject searching
Criteria for cochlear implantation in children who are hearing impaired
Ugradnja umjetne pužniceterapijski je postupak izbora za osobe s teškim zamjedbenim oštećenjem sluha.Brojni su kriteriji, tj. čimbenicikoji utječu na ishod ugradnje umjetne pužnice i rehabilitacije, a jedan od najvažnijih kod preligvalno gluhe djece jest dob u kojoj je operacija učinjena. Rano otkrivanje slušnog oštećenja potrebno je radi pravodobne i odgovarajuće rehabilitacije kojom se smanjuju posljedice oštećenja sluha i poboljšava komunikacija s okolinom. Cilj je rehabilitacije omogućiti djetetu razvoj kognitivnih, socijalnih i emocionalnih potencijala te ga uključiti u redoviti sustav odgoja i obrazovanja. Jedna od metoda rehabilitacije djece s ugrađenom umjetnom pužnicom jest verbotonalna metoda Petra Guberine koja je već dugo godina aktualna u Republici Hrvatskoj. Verbotonalnom metodom se primjenom lingvističkih (leksičkih) i nelingvističkih (neleksičkih) sredstava izražavanja nastoji uspostaviti, odnosno povratiti slušanje i govor kod gluhih osoba. Proces koji dijete prolazi prije, za vrijeme i poslije ugradnje umjetne pužnice zahtjevan je i za dijete i za roditelje. Zato su tijekom tog procesa važne motivacija i upornost, realnost i podrška.Cochlear implantation is a therapeutic procedure of choice for individuals with profound sensorineural hearing loss. There are many criteria, i.e. factors that influence the outcome of the cochlear implantation, and one of the most important in prelingually deaf children is the age at cochlear implantation. Early detection of hearing loss is necessary for timely and appropriate rehabilitation, which reduces the consequences of hearing loss and improves communication with the environment. The aim of rehabilitation is to enable the development of child's cognitive, social and emotional potentials and integrate it into a regular education system. One of the possible treatment methods is the Verbotonal Method which was developed by Petar Guberina and has been applied in Croatia for a long time. The method develops and/or restores speaking and hearing abilities to hearing impared people by linguistic (lexical) and non-linguistic (non-lexical) means. The process that a child passes before, during and after cochlear implantation is demanding for the child and for the parents. That is why motivation and perseverance, realistic expectations and support are important during this process

UNACCOMPLISHED ATTEMPTS OF POPE JOHN PAUL II TO VISIT YUGOSLAVIA
In August 1980 Presidency of Yugoslavia sent an invitation to Pope John Paul II. However,
when Pope declared that he would like to visit Yugoslavia during the Eucharistic congress
in Maria Bistrica (1984), Yugoslav authorities denied this initiative, which also has repeated
in 1985. Namely, Yugoslav authorities assumed that such a visit, while Yugoslavia
was enduring a heavy economic crisis and national turbulences, would not be politically
opportune. Therefore, Yugoslav authorities did not withdraw the invitation, while at the
same time they were diplomatically trying to postpone the papal visitation, in order to
prevent its realization completely.
Namely, Yugoslav authorities believed that the papal visitation would strengthen position of
the Catholic Church within the society, and that this could be utilized by the political opposition
of Yugoslavia, which had to be avoided in any case, especially during the 1980s while
Yugoslavia was experiencing economic and political crisis. By the same token, they were
quite aware that an explicit denial of the icnvitation could provoke a negative public opinion,
and therefore they were trying to condition such a form of the papal visitation, which
should be unacceptable to the Church. At the same time, Yugoslav authorities were plotting
such a plan, in which even if the Church would accept all the conditions, then they would
require additional amenability of the Yugoslav bishops towards the state and authorities.
On the other hand, the Holy See truly wanted to realize this visit, since this was in accordance
with its »Eastern policy«, i.e. strengthening the Catholic Church position in
the eastern European communist countries. Namely, after the visit to Poland, it seemed
that Yugoslavia was the most suitable country for the next papal visitation, especially
since Vatican had formally good diplomatic relations with the Yugoslav authorities. Consequently,
since all the papal attempts failed, the Holy See in 1985 decided give up the
visit. Thus, Pope did not manage to visit socialistic Yugoslavia, but in the following years
after dissolution of Yugoslavia, John Paul II has visited Croatia three times and Bosnia
and Herzegovina one time
Teachers' perception of academic dishonesty in gymnasiums and vocational schools
Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati neke aspekte nastavničke percepcije akademskog nepoštenja i stavova prema varanju u srednjoj školi. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 215 nastavnika iz 12 srednjih škola u Zagrebu i okolici. Primijenjeni instrumenti uključuju Skalu varanja, Skalu razloga varanja, Skalu interakcije nastavnik-učenik i pojedinačne čestice koje se odnose na etički kodeks i stavove o čimbenicima koji doprinose lakšem nošenju s akademskim nepoštenjem. Rezultati pokazuju da nastavnici strukovnih škola percipiraju varanje na testu češćim nego nastavnici gimnazija. Nastavnička percepcija akademskog nepoštenja nije se razlikovala s obzirom na postojanje i čestinu komuniciranja etičkog kodeksa. Stavovi nastavnika gimnazija i strukovnih škola prema varanju se statistički značajno ne razlikuju, pri čemu su nastavnici skloni objasniti varanje razlozima povezanima s ocjenama. Ignoriranje varanja u razredu pozitivno je povezano s čestinom varanja na testu i čestinom težih oblika varanja, dok su visoka očekivanja od učenika negativno povezana s čestinom varanja na testu. Nastavnici ističu kako bi im u nošenju s učeničkim varanjem pomogli promjena društvenih vrijednosti, promjene u školstvu, veća odgovornost roditelja i učenika, dosljednost nastavnika, strože i dosljednije sankcije, promjena fizičkih uvjeta u radnoj okolini te kontrola korištenja mobitela u učionicama.The aim of this study was to examine some aspects of the teachers' perception of academic dishonesty and attitudes toward cheating in high school. The participants were 215 teachers from 12 high schools in Zagreb and the surrounding area. The participants completed The Cheating Scale, The Reasons For Cheating Scale, The Scale Of Teacher-Student Interaction and items related to the ethical code and attitudes about factors contributing to easier coping with academic dishonesty. The results show that vocational school teachers perceive cheating on tests more frequent than gymnasium teachers. The teachers' perception of academic dishonesty did not differ with regard to the existence and communication of the ethical code. Differences in attitudes between gymnasium and vocational school teachers are not statistically significant, with teachers from both groups more inclined to explain cheating by the reasons associated with grades. Ignoring cheating in the classroom is positively associated with both forms of academic dishonesty, while high expectations from students are negatively associated with cheating on the test. Teachers point out that changing social values, changes in schooling, greater responsibility of parents and students, teachers' consistency, stricter and more consistent sanctions, changing physical conditions in the work environment and control of the cell phone use in the classrooms would help them cope with academic dishonesty
Melania Trump's Linguistic Production
In the past couple of years, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has been one of the most talked about people in the world. Likewise, many people talk about his Slovenian–born wife Melania Trump, and frequently comment on her linguistic production. Consequently, this paper analyses Mrs Trump's linguistic production as well as people's comments on her linguistic production. The results of the first analysis show that Mrs Trump's mother tongue Slovene influences her production of English, which can be seen in examples of morphological and syntactic crosslinguistic transfer, and examples of her incomplete acquisition of English. The second analysis is a critical discourse analysis i.e. an analysis of ideologies underlying people's attitudes towards Mrs Trump's linguistic production. The results of the analysis show that the typical ideologies are the ideology of the standard language, ideology of the native speaker, ideology of territorialisation, ideology of fractional bilingualism, and the pluralist ideology
Ceramics in Archaeology - Pottery of the Vučedol Culture in the Vinkovci Region
Knjiga je podijeljena na dva dijela, prvi dio knjige proizlazi iz radnog mjesta autorice na Katedri za arheometriju i metodologiju Odsjeka za arheologiju Filozofskog fakulteta u Zagrebu, u kojem se uhvatila u koštac s onim dijelom arheologije koji nije baš popularan kod arheologa, a to je prebrojavanje, klasificiranje i tipiziranje desetaka tisuća keramičkih ulomaka. Ali kako sama autorica kaže slažeći podatke poput slagalice čini nam se kao da sami sudjelujemo u stvaranju keramičkih posuda i ulazimo u živote ljudi koji su ih napravili. Keramika je jedan od najčešćih materijala koji arheolozi obrađuju i analiziraju, pružajući nebrojene i važne informacije o kulturnim, socijalnim, ekonomskim, religioznim i tehnološkim postignućima određene zajednice i razdoblja u kojem su pojedine posude nastale. Ovaj dio knjige koji se bavi analitičkim tehnikama i teorijskim okvirima o keramičkoj tehnologiji, kao i parametrima za obradu keramičkog materijala, vrlo je koristan i važan svakom arheologu koji se bavi keramičkim nalazima kao vodećem izvoru arheoloških podataka.
Drugi dio knjige zanimljiv je i ostalim čitateljima, ne samo stručnjacima. Iako je arheologija danas interdisciplinarna znanost, što se iščitava i iz knjige Ine Miloglav, bez arheobotanike ne možemo zamisliti rekonstrukciju krajolika ili prehrambene navike stanovništva, dok se arheozoologija bavi proučavanjem životinjskih ostataka na arheološkim lokalitetima. Tako npr. saznajemo da je dominantna gospodarska grana Vučedolaca na Ervenici oko 2880.-2480. g. pr. Kr. bilo stočarstvo te da su najviše uzgajali goveda. Mnoge od analiza koje su napravljene na ulomcima vučedolskih posuda pružaju nam „nezamislive“ podatke o keramičkom posuđu. Arheološki biomarkeri na jednoj šalici s Ervenice pokazali su ostatke mliječnih masti te ju možemo interpretirati kao šalicu za mlijeko, dok se na osnovi ostataka masti s keramičkog cjedila s Damića gradine zaključuje kako su Vučedolci proizvodili sir. Osim toga, petrografske analize keramičkih ulomaka na vinkovačkom području pokazale su da mineralni sastav keramike odgovara mineralnom sastavu prapora na kojem se nalaze Ervenica i Damića gradina, što je dokaz da se posuđe izrađivalo od lokalnih sirovina. Napravljen je i test standardizacije na keramičkom materijalu čiji rezultati ukazuju na standardiziranu proizvodnju keramičkih posuda, posebno određenog tipa zdjela. Na osnovi rezultata autorica zaključuje da je u obrađenim vučedolskim naseljima postojala organizirana keramička proizvodnja sa specijaliziranim lončarima. (Iz Predgovora Maje Krznarić Škrivanko
Valencija latinskih glagola: sintaktička analiza odabranog korpusa
U ovom je radu prikazana sintaktička analiza odabranih latinskih tekstova iz udžbenika
Orbis Romanus I s gledišta teorije valentnosti. U prvom dijelu rada prikazuju se kratak teorijski
okvir i jezična problematika vezana uz teoriju valentnosti. U dugom dijelu navedeni su rezultati
analize korpusa. U abecednom popisu glagola tablično su prikazani podaci o njihovoj
valentnosti, vrsti i broju dopune. Nakon obrade provedena je statistička analiza. U nastavku
slijedi metodičko-didaktički osvrt na primjenjivost teorije valentnosti u suvremenoj nastavi
latinskog jezika.Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit der syntaktischen Analyse der aus dem Lehrbuch Orbis
Romanus I gewählten lateinischen Texte. Dabei bediente man sich der Valenztheorie. Im ersten
Teil der Arbeit werden Grundbegriffe und das Wesen der Valenztheorie sowie deren
Problematik geschildert. Die Resultate der Korpusanalyse werden im zweiten Teil dargestellt.
Mit den in alphabetischer Reihenfolge geordneten Verben werden auch die Angaben über ihre
qualitative und quantitative Valenz genannt. Danach wurde die statistische Analyse
durchgeführt. Im Anschluss daran wird die Anwendbarkeit der Valenztheorie im Lateinunterricht von heute erörtert
