Tri-N-ification
We consider a natural generalization of trinification to theories with 3N
SU(3) gauge groups. These theories have a simple moose representation and a
gauge boson spectrum that can be interpreted via the deconstruction of a 5D
theory with unified symmetry broken on a boundary. Although the matter and
Higgs sectors of the theory have no simple extra-dimensional analog, gauge
unification retains features characteristic of the 5D theory. We determine
possible assignments of the matter and Higgs fields to unified multiplets and
present theories that are viable alternatives to minimal trinified GUTs.Comment: 21 pages LaTeX, 6 eps figure

Trauma-Associated Tinnitus: Audiological, Demographic and Clinical Characteristics
Background: Tinnitus can result from different etiologies. Frequently, patients report the development of tinnitus after traumatic injuries. However, to which extent this specific etiologic factor plays a role for the phenomenology of tinnitus is still incompletely understood. Additionally, it remains a matter of debate whether the etiology of tinnitus constitutes a relevant criterion for defining tinnitus subtypes. Objective: By investigating a worldwide sample of tinnitus patients derived from the Tinnitus Research Initiative (TRI) Database, we aimed to identify differences in demographic, clinical and audiological characteristics between tinnitus patients with and without preceding trauma. Materials: A total of 1,604 patients were investigated. Assessment included demographic data, tinnitus related clinical data, audiological data, the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory, the Tinnitus Questionnaire, the Beck Depression Inventory, various numeric tinnitus rating scales, and the World Health Organisation Quality of Life Scale (WHOQoL). Results: Our data clearly indicate differences between tinnitus patients with and without trauma at tinnitus onset. Patients suffering from trauma-associated tinnitus suffer from a higher mental burden than tinnitus patients presenting with phantom perceptions based on other or unknown etiologic factors. This is especially the case for patients with whiplash and head trauma. Patients with posttraumatic noise-related tinnitus experience more frequently hyperacousis, were younger, had longer tinnitus duration, and were more frequently of male gender. Conclusions: Trauma before tinnitus onset seems to represent a relevant criterion for subtypization of tinnitus. Patients with posttraumatic tinnitus may require specific diagnostic and therapeutic management. A more systematic and - at best - standardized assessment for hearing related sequelae of trauma is needed for a better understanding of the underlying pathophysiology and for developing more tailored treatment approaches as well.Fil: Kreuzer, Peter M.. Tri-Sasakian consistent reduction
We establish a universal consistent Kaluza-Klein truncation of M-theory based
on seven-dimensional tri-Sasakian structure. The four-dimensional truncated
theory is an N=4 gauged supergravity with three vector multiplets and a
non-abelian gauge group, containing the compact factor SO(3). Consistency
follows from the fact that our truncation takes exactly the same form as a
left-invariant reduction on a specific coset manifold, and we show that the
same holds for the various universal consistent truncations recently put
forward in the literature. We describe how the global symmetry group SL(2,R) x
SO(6,3) is embedded in the symmetry group E7(7) of maximally supersymmetric
reductions, and make the connection with the approach of Exceptional
Generalized Geometry. Vacuum AdS4 solutions spontaneously break the amount of
supersymmetry from N=4 to N=3,1 or 0, and the spectrum contains massive modes.
We find a subtruncation to minimal N=3 gauged supergravity as well as an N=1
subtruncation to the SO(3)-invariant sector. We also show that a reduction on
the homogeneous space N^{010} enhances the universal tri-Sasakian truncation
with a Betti vector multiplet.Comment: 40 pages main text, 9 pages appendix, 1 figure, 6 tables, v2: JHEP

Tri Rismaharini's Androgynous Leadership: Strategizing “Hegemonic Masculinity”i
This paper analyses the leadership style of Tri Rismaharini, the Mayor of Surabaya City (2010-2020) using feminist research methodology by centralizing on women‟s personal experiences in a specific context to gain knowledge based on their real life experiences. It employed a qualitative approach by using various videos and written materials of Risma‟s attitudes and experiences as a female political leader. The findings discover that unlike the common feminine leadership style of Indonesian female political leaders, Risma‟s shows a masculine leadership style. It can be seen from her assertive approaches while closing down Gang Dolly located in Surabaya as the biggest red-light district in Southeast Asia. Interestingly, Risma‟s masculinity is combined with motherly value which results in an androgynous leadership style. This paper shows that rather than merely accepting the western notion which believes that the more a woman shows masculinity, the more she hits the ground running for exercising power in the male-dominated political atmosphere. This paper would like to show that Javanese society‟s acceptance of Risma‟s leadership style indicates their approval for female leadership and wider tolerance towards new value of masculinity performed by a female leader despite inconsistency with the gender normative standard of feminine Javanese women. This paper concludes by emphasizing that Risma‟s masculine leadership traits can be seen as strategizing a move towards hijacking “hegemonic masculinity”
THE USES OF “ING” FORM IN REFORM MAGAZIN ESECOND EDITION 2003
Mastering structure is a must for language learners, because if the structure of language is not known well it can make errors in comprehending the information. The purpose of this study is to explain the function and to know the frequency of occurrence of “ing” form in Reform magazine second edition 2003. The research design in this study is quantitative research. The population was twenty-five articles that contain ing-form sentences in Reform magazine second edition 20003 and the sample was taken from the whole population. The data collection was obtained through reading the articles and identifying the “ing” forms sentences in the Reform magazine. . The data analysis was conducted by identifying the entire sentences of Reform magazine consist of “ing” forms. Then deciding the function of “ing” forms in each sentence, classifying them and counting the frequency of occurrence and percentage each type in the table. The result of study shows that the uses of “ing” forms in Reform magazine second edition 2003 were dominated by gerund. The total occurrence of gerund which has seven functions is (64.43%) while the total occurrence of participle which has six functions is (35.57%). Concerning with the uses of “ing” forms, suggestion is offered for the teacher to give priority in teaching “ing” form as gerund that is to be the dominant type. For English students they can read more English articles and study how the writer applies the form. The last for the future researcher can conduct the research in the same field with different case of study
