    Masa memainkan peranan yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran dan pencapaian akademik murid. Penangguhan masa akan memberi impak yang negatif iaitu mengurangkan keberkesanan pembelajaran dan merosakkan prestasi akademik. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti hubungan antara penangguhan masa dalam konteks akademik dengan pencapaian akademik yang cemerlang dalam kalangan murid. Reka bentuk kajian ini adalah secara kuantitatif yang melibatkan 242 orang murid di empat buah sekolah rendah Cina (SJKC). Dapatan kajian dianalisis menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) versi 27. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tahap penangguhan masa dan pencapaian Bahasa Cina. Satu cadangan kajian lanjutan adalah untuk mengkaji keberkesanan program pembangunan kemahiran pengurusan masa dan penggunaan teknologi dalam mengatasi masalah penangguhan masa di kalangan murid

    Pembelajaran Luar Bilik Darjah (PLBD) merupakan salah satu pendekatan alternatif yang memberikan pengalaman autentik di luar persekitaran bilik darjah. Pelaksanaan PLBD dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah membantu murid menghubungkan pengetahuan teori dengan konteks yang nyata sambil memperoleh pengalaman yang menyeronokkan dan bermakna. Faktor yang penting dalam menjayakan pelaksanaan PLBD adalah kesediaan guru. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti kesediaan guru terhadap pelaksanaan PLBD dari aspek pengetahuan, kemahiran dan sikap dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah. Reka bentuk kajian ini adalah kuantitatif iaitu kajian tinjauan dan menggunakan soal selidik sebagai instrumen kajian. Seramai 169 orang guru Sejarah sekolah rendah di daerah Pasir Gudang, Johor telah dipilih sebagai responden. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kesediaan guru melaksanakan PLBD dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah berada pada tahap sederhana tinggi. Ujian hipotesis menjelaskan terdapat hubungan signifikan yang kuat antara pengetahuan dengan kemahiran guru serta korelasi signifikan yang sederhana antara pengetahuan dan kemahiran dengan sikap guru dalam pelaksanaan PLBD. Implikasi kajian ini membantu pihak kementerian meninjau keberhasilan menerusi tahap kesediaan guru dan seterusnya merancang strategi yang sesuai. Justeru, kajian ini diharapkan dapat memberi pendedahan kepada guru-guru Sejarah untuk meningkatkan standard pengajaran dan mengembangkan keupayaan pengajaran bertaraf dunia yang diperlukan dalam milenium baru.&nbsp

    Mystical Elements in the Novels of Marah Rusli

    Marah Rusli is widely recognized as a prominent figure in Indonesian literature, particularly in the field of writing novels. He is regarded as the 'father' of contemporary Indonesian fiction. His well-known writings, including Sitti Nurbaya, were the subject of numerous analyses. The mystical components, another aspect of Marah Rusli's writing that appears to be recurrent, will be examined by the researchers in this article. The findings indicate that Marah Rusli, despite being aligned with modernist ideals and expressing criticism towards traditional Minangkabau rituals, exhibited a profound inclination towards mystical concepts that can be characterized as rooted in folk beliefs. His autobiographical novel Memang Jodoh, in particular, includes numerous mystical influences and illustrates supernatural events.     Isu tanah pertanian terbiar sentiasa menjadi perhatian pihak kerajaan dengan memperuntukkan pelbagai insentif dan dana dalam usaha untuk memperkasakan sekuriti makanan negara sekaligus mengelak kebergantungan terhadap bekalan import. Tindakan tersebut wajar supaya negara kekal berdaya tahan daripada sebarang kemungkinan pada masa hadapan di samping menjana ekonomi berasaskan pertanian. Namun, isu peningkatan tanah pertanian terbiar berterusan membelenggu pemilik tanah dan negara apabila berlaku peningkatan saban tahun sepertimana yang dilaporkan oleh Jabatan Pertanian. Oleh itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan peningkatan tanah pertanian terbiar di Negeri Kedah Darul Aman. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan penyelidikan kualitatif dan data dikutip melalui kaedah temu bual separa berstruktur serta pemerhatian langsung. Seramai 33 orang pemilik tanah dan 5 orang informan kajian telah ditemu bual. Kaedah analisis kandungan telah digunakan untuk menganalisis data menerusi transkrip temu bual. Melalui kajian ini, isu sebenar yang dihadapi oleh pemilik tanah pertanian dapat dikenal pasti. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa masalah modal merupakan faktor utama yang mempengaruhi peningkatan tanah pertanian terbiar di negeri Kedah Darul Aman. Selain itu terdapat juga beberapa faktor lain yang mempengaruhi seperti bantuan agensi kerajaan, birokrasi, kekurangan kelengkapan asas, masalah minat dan lain-lain faktor yang merangkumi masalah haiwan liar, bencana alam dan sumber tanah. Hasil kajian ini diharap dapat membantu Kerajaan Persekutuan dan Kerajaan Negeri merangka strategi dalam penambahbaikan Dasar Pertanian Negara, melaksanakan pendekatan strategi pertanian yang kompeten di samping pengurusan dan perancangan guna tanah yang lebih dinamik di masa hadapan

    Exploring Reasons for Learning English and Burnout Among Pre-University Students

    English is crucial to achieve academic success and fulfil social needs of the language in today’s society. Several studies have reported that the reasons for learning English could facilitate learners to learn the language more seriously with the aim to be proficient and successful in acquiring the language. However, the reasons for learning the English language may be a factor that could lead to academic burnout. Therefore, this study explored the reasons for learning English and burnout among pre-university students. A quantitative approach was done to investigate reasons for learning English and its relation to students’ burnout. The survey used was derived from Pintrich and De Groot’s (1990) reasons for learning and Campos et al.’s (2011) causes of burnout. A purposive sample of 271 UiTM Centre of Foundation Studies students responded to the survey. The findings of this study revealed the affective component was the most significant cause of academic burnout due to maladaptive perfectionism whereby learners were concerned about making mistakes especially when they focused on learning English to excel in tests and examinations. Conclusively, the relationship between the reasons for learning English language and cause of burnout has prominent implications for academic institutions and educators to foster a positive and successful learning environment by providing resources and assistance programmes for students to manage academic difficulties and social stresses in English language learning

    The Graphic Schemata Drawings of Children Using Golomb’s Representational Theory

    This study intends to study primary schools’ children’s graphic schemata drawings developments using Golomb’s representational theory. The graphic schemata drawing of 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12-year-old children was examined based on the stimulus given to them. Children’s drawing responses were observed in terms of representational activity marks such as line, shape and colour. The subjects were 384 from primary schools. Stimulus materials consisting of a theme “A Garden with Trees, Flowers and Insects” were given to the children to complete their drawings. The statistical analysis uses frequencies, percentages, and chi-square measurement to analyse the drawings of the children. The analysis indicates that the three key aspects of Golomb’s representation have similarities and differences based on each group of young children’s age. The findings revealed that Golomb’s representational theory were significant to the primary schools’ children’s age group. Hence, it can be concluded children’s creative and intellectual development is positively impacted

    Effective teaching and learning strategies are one of the most important factors in achieving any educational institution's mission and vision. However, to ensure teaching and learning methods are relevant to the curriculum, which is very challenging and complex, educators' psychological well-being plays a vital role in supporting all planning and whatever goals are to be achieved by educational institutions. This study was to explore the views and perceptions of educators from higher educational institutions offering a Medical Laboratory Technology Diploma Program with regards to the contributing factors to psychological well-being. This study employed a qualitative, semi-structured interview to collect data from three selected participants. The data was thoroughly analysed in several procedures before being reported. This study revealed five themes of contributing factors to educators' psychological well-being by sharing relevant perspectives, challenges, and strategies for overcoming them

    Murid Berkeperluan Pendidikan Khas (MBPK) sering menghadapi masalah dalam mata pelajaran matematik terutamanya dalam tajuk bahagi. Oleh itu, guru perlu sentiasa kreatif bagi mencuba pelbagai kaedah untuk membantu MBPK mengatasi masalah ini. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau Keberkesanan Pendekatan Kaedah Tulang Ikan Dalam Tajuk Bahagi Bagi MBPK Tingkatan Dua. Terdapat empat orang peserta bagi dalam kajian ini. Peserta merupakan MBPK Tingkatan Dua yang menggunakan Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menengah Pendidikan Khas (KSSMPK) yang bersekolah di SMK Tobiar, Pendang, Kedah. Metodologi kajian ini menggunakan Kajian Tindakan yang mengaplikasikan Model Kemmis & McTaggart (1988). Pendekatan ujian pra dan ujian pasca digunakan untuk membandingkan peserta kajian sebelum dan selepas intervensi dijalankan. Soal selidik juga digunakan untuk mengumpul pandangan responden terhadap kaedah Tulang Ikan yang digunakan guru. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan kaedah Tulang Ikan berupaya meningkatkan pencapaian dan minat murid dalam tajuk bahagi subjek matematik.     Tourists’ Behaviour Towards Islamic Tourism Characteristics in Kota Bharu Malaysia

    Islamic tourism, sometimes referred to as halal tourism, is a developing trend in the market that is gaining popularity among tourists who want to enjoy many travel perks while keeping in mind their religious commitments. On the other hand, Islamic tourism is a global industry that generates a billion-dollar economic impact and provides thousands of employments. The study's goal is to examine how behaviour among tourists and Islamic tourism in Kota Bharu are related. A total of 421 domestic tourists completed the questionnaire survey and six Subject Matter Experts (SME) participated in the structured interview as part of the sequential explanatory mixed-method research. Relative Importance Index (RII) and content analysis were applied to the data analysis. According to the results, the majority of the respondent were satisfied and agree with Kota Bharu Islamic Tourism indicators and components. The findings of this study will be helpful to the Kota Bharu tourism industry in improving Islamic tourism, which will boost the number of visitors to the city. Furthermore, it is believed that this research will serve as the basis for Islamic tourism in other Islamic cities around the globe
