Improving bounds on in and
In view of recent experimental progress in rate and CP asymmetry measurements
in , we reconsider information on the weak phase
which can be obtained from these processes. Model-independent inequalities are
proven for in terms of two ratios of partial rates for
, where is any multiparticle charmless state
carrying strangeness . Good prospects are shown to exist for using these
inequalities and CP asymmetry measurements in two body and multibody decays in
order to improve present bounds on .Comment: References updated, to be published in Phys. Lett.
Measurement of Masses and Widths of Excited Charm Mesons and Evidence for Broad States
Using data from the FOCUS experiment we analyze the and
invariant mass distributions. We measure the mass M_{D_2^{*0}} =
(2464.5 \pm 1.1 \pm 1.9) \mev and width \Gamma_{D_2^{*0}} = (38.7 \pm 5.3 \pm
2.9) \mev, and the mass M_{D_2^{*+}} = (2467.6 \pm 1.5 \pm 0.76)
\mev and width \Gamma_{D_2^{*+}} = (34.1 \pm 6.5 \pm 4.2) \mev. We find
evidence for broad structures over background in both the neutral and charged
final state. If each is interpreted as evidence for a single L=1,
excited charm meson resonance, the masses and widths are M_{1/2}^0 =(2407 \pm
21 \pm 35) \mev, \Gamma_{1/2}^0 = (240 \pm 55 \pm 59) \mev, and M_{1/2}^+ =
(2403 \pm 14 \pm 35) \mev \Gamma_{1/2}^+ = (283 \pm 24 \pm 34) \mev,
respectively.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures. Submitted to Phys. Lett. B. Added preprint

Single and Pair Production of Doubly Charged Higgs Bosons at Hadron Colliders
Current searches for doubly charged Higgs bosons (H^{\pm\pm}) at the Fermilab
Tevatron are sensitive to single production of H^{\pm\pm}, although the pair
production mechanism q\bar q\to H^{++}H^{--} is assumed to be dominant. In the
context of a Higgs Triplet Model we study the mechanism q'\bar q\to
H^{\pm\pm}H^{\mp} at the Tevatron and CERN Large Hadron Collider, and show that
its inclusion can significantly improve the search potential for H^{\pm\pm}.
Moreover, assuming that the neutrino mass is generated solely by the triplet
field Yukawa coupling to leptons, we compare the branching ratios of
H^{\pm\pm}\to l^\pm l^\pm and H^{\pm\pm}\to H^\pm W^* for the cases of a normal
hierarchical, inverted hierarchical and degenerate neutrino mass spectrum.Comment: 17 pages, 15 figures, references added, version to appear in PR
Measurements of Branching Fractions and Time-dependent CP Violating Asymmetries in Decays
We report measurements of branching fractions and time-dependent CP
asymmetries in and decays
using a data sample that contains pairs
collected at the resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB
asymmetric-energy collider. We determine the branching fractions to
be
and . We measure CP asymmetry parameters and in and , ,
, and in , where the first uncertainty is
statistical and the second is systematic. We exclude the conservation of CP
symmetry in both decays at equal to or greater than significance.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figure
Determination of the Michel Parameters rho, xi, and delta in tau-Lepton Decays with tau --> rho nu Tags
Using the ARGUS detector at the storage ring DORIS II, we have
measured the Michel parameters , , and for
decays in -pair events produced at
center of mass energies in the region of the resonances. Using
as spin analyzing tags, we find , , , , and . In addition, we report
the combined ARGUS results on , , and using this work
und previous measurements.Comment: 10 pages, well formatted postscript can be found at

Production of doubly charged scalars from the decay of singly charged scalars in the Higgs Triplet Model
The existence of doubly charged Higgs bosons (H^{\pm\pm}) is a distinctive
feature of the Higgs Triplet Model (HTM), in which neutrinos obtain tree-level
masses from the vacuum expectation value of a neutral scalar in a triplet
representation of SU(2)_L. We point out that a large branching ratio for the
decay of a singly charged Higgs boson to a doubly charged Higgs boson via
H^\pm\to H^{\pm\pm}W^* is possible in a sizeable parameter space of the HTM.
From the production mechanism q'qbar\to W^* \to H^{\pm\pm}H^\mp the above decay
mode would give rise to pair production of H^{\pm\pm}, with a cross section
which can be comparable to that of the standard pair-production mechanism
qqbar\to \gamma^*,Z^* \to H^{++}H^{--}. We suggest that the presence of a
sizeable branching ratio for H^\pm\to H^{\pm\pm}W^* could significantly enhance
the detection prospects of H^{\pm\pm} in the four-lepton channel. Moreover, the
decays H^0\to H^\pm W^* and A^0\to H^\pm W^* from production of the neutral
triplet scalars H^0 and A^0 would also provide an additional source of H^\pm,
which can subsequently decay to H^{\pm\pm}.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures, two figures added in v2, to appear in Physical

Observation of B+- -> omega K+- Decay
We report the first observation of the charmless two-body mode decay, and a new measurement of the branching fraction for the
decay. The measured branching fractions are
and . %and we set 90% confidence
level upper limits of %.
We also measure the partial rate asymmetry of decays
and obtain . The results are based on
a data sample of 29.4 fb collected on the resonance by
the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, resubmitted to Phys. Rev. Let
