Implementing lifetime performance index of products from type-II right - censored data using Lomax distribution

    Get PDF
Process capability analysis has been widely applied in the manufacturing industry to monitor the performance of industrial processes. The lifetime performance index CL is used to assess the performance and potential of their process, where L is the lower specification limit. In the case of product processing a two-parameter Lomax distribution, the study will apply the transformation technology to construct a maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of CL based on type-II right-censored data. Then, the MLE of the CL is utilized to develop the new hypothesis testing procedure in the condition known as lower specification limit. Finally, we give an example and the Monte Carlo simulation to assess the behavior of the proposed method under the given significance level

A Multiple Dependent State Repetitive Sampling Plan Based on Performance Index for Lifetime Data with Type II Censoring

    Get PDF
In this paper, a multiple dependent state repetitive (MDSR) sampling plan based on the lifetime performance index C-L is proposed for lifetime data with type II censoring when the lifetime of a product follows the exponential distribution or Weibull distribution. The optimal parameters of the proposed plan are determined by minimizing the average sample number while satisfying the producer's risk and consumer's risk at corresponding quality levels. Besides, the performance of the proposed plan is compared with that of the existing lifetime sampling plan in terms of the average sample number and operating characteristic curve. Two illustrative examples are given for the demonstration of the proposed plan.11Ysciescopu

In manufacturing, quality control is a process that ensures customers receive products free from defects and meet their needs. Process capability analysis has been widely applied in the field of quality control to find out how well a given process meets a set of specification limits. The lifetime performance index \begin {math} C_L ,\end {math} a type of process capability index is used to measure the larger-the-better type quality characteristics.  Under the assumption of Two-Parameter Rayleigh Distribution, this study constructs a maximum likelihood estimator of  \begin {math} C_L \end {math} based on the progressively type II right censored sample. The maximum likelihood estimator of  \begin {math} C_L \end {math} is then utilized to develop the new hypothesis testing procedure. The testing procedure can be employed the testing procedure to determine whether the lifetime of a product adheres to the required level

Computational testing algorithmic procedure of assessment for lifetime performance index of products with weibull distribution under progressive type I interval censoring

[[abstract]]The assessing of the lifetime performance is a very important topic in manufacturing or service industries. Process capability indices had been widely used to evaluate the process performance to the continuous improvement of quality and productivity. The lifetimes of products are assumed to have Weibull distribution with a known shape parameter and the larger-the-better lifetime performance index is considered. The maximum likelihood estimator is used to estimate the lifetime performance index based on the progressive type I interval censored sample. The asymptotic distribution of this estimator is also investigated. We use this estimator to develop the new hypothesis testing algorithmic procedure with respect to a lower specification limit. Finally, two practical examples are given to illustrate the use of this testing algorithmic procedure to determine whether the process is capable.[[notice]]補正完

Bayesian testing procedure on the lifetime performance index of products following Chen lifetime distribution based on the progressive type-II censored sample

[[abstract]]With the high demands on the quality of high-tech products for consumers, assuring the lifetime performance is a very important task for competitive manufacturing industries. The lifetime performance index CL is frequently used to monitor the larger-the-better lifetime performance of products. This research is related to the topic of asymmetrical probability distributions and applications across disciplines. Chen lifetime distribution with a bathtub shape or increasing failure rate function has many applications in the lifetime data analysis. We derived the uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator (UMVUE) for CL, and we used this estimator to develop a hypothesis testing procedure of CL under a lower specification limit based on the progressive type-II censored sample. The Bayesian estimator for CL is also derived, and it is used to develop another hypothesis testing procedure. A simulation study is conducted to compare the average confidence levels for two procedures. Finally, one practical example is given to illustrate the implementation of our proposed non-Bayesian and Bayesian testing procedure.[[notice]]補正完

Computational Procedure of Performance Assessment of Lifetime Index of Products for the Weibull Distribution with the Progressive First-Failure-Censored Sampling Plan

Process capability analysis has been widely applied in the field of quality control to monitor the performance of industrial processes. In practice, lifetime performance index CL is a popular means to assess the performance and potential of their processes, where L is the lower specification limit. This study will apply the large-sample theory to construct a maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of CL with the progressive first-failure-censored sampling plan under the Weibull distribution. The MLE of CL is then utilized to develop a new hypothesis testing procedure in the condition of known L

The evaluation on the process capability index CL for exponentiated Frech’et lifetime product under progressive type I interval censoring

    Get PDF
[[abstract]]We present the likelihood inferences on the lifetime performance index CL to evaluate the performance of lifetimes of products following the skewed Exponentiated Frech’et distribution in many manufacturing industries. This research is related to the topic of skewed Probability Distributions and Applications across Disciplines. Exponentiated Frech’et distribution is a generalization of some lifetime distributions. The maximum likelihood estimator for CL for lifetimes with exponentiated Frech’et distribution is derived to develop a computational testing procedure so that experimenters can implement it to test whether the lifetime performance reached the pre-assigned level of significance with a given lower specification limit under progressive type I interval censoring. At the end, two examples are provided to demonstrate the implementation on the algorithm for our proposed computational testing procedure.[[notice]]補正完

Estimating the environmental impact of dairy cattle breeding programs through emission intensity.

    Get PDF
A recently developed methodological approach for determining the greenhouse gas emissions impact of national breeding programs was applied to measure the effects of current and future breeding goals on the emission intensity (EI) of the Canadian dairy industry. Emission intensity is the ratio of greenhouse gas outputted in comparison to the product generated. Traits under investigation affected EI by either decreasing the direct emissions yield (i.e. increasing feed performance), changing herd structure (i.e. prolonging herd life) or through the dilution effect of increased production (i.e. increasing fat yield). The intensity value (IV) of each trait, defined as the change in emissions' intensity per unit change in each trait, was calculated for each of the investigated traits. The IV trend of these traits was compared for the current and prospective selection index, as well as for a system with and without quota (the supply management policy designed to prevent overproduction). The overall EI of the average genetic merit Canadian dairy herd per breeding female was 5.07 kg CO2eq/kg protein equivalent output. The annual reduction in EI due to the improvement of production traits was -0.027, -0.018 and -0.006 for fat, protein and milk other solids, respectively. The functional traits, herd life and mastitis resistance, had more modest effects (-0.008 and -0.001, respectively). These results are consistent with international studies that identified traits related to production, survival, health and fertility as having the largest impact on the environmental footprint of dairy cattle. Overall, the dairy industry is becoming more efficient by reducing its EI through selection of environmentally favorable traits, with a 1% annual reduction of EI in Canada

Alpha Power-Kumaraswamy Distribution with An Application on Survival Times of Cancer Patients

    Get PDF
The aim of the study is to obtain the alpha power Kumaraswamy (APK) distribution. Some main statistical properties of the APK distribution are investigated including survival, hazard rate and quantile functions, skewness, kurtosis, order statistics. The hazard rate function of the proposed distribution could be useful to model data sets with bathtub hazard rates. We provide a real data application and show that the APK distribution is better than the other compared distributions fort the right-skewed data sets
