    Decision making in reinsurance with induced OWA operators and Minkowski distances

    The decision to choose a reinsurance program has many complexities because it is difficult to simultaneously achieve high levels in different optimal criteria including maximum gain, minimum variance, and probability of ruin. This article suggests a new method by which, through membership functions, we can measure the distance of each alternative to an optimal result and aggregate it by using different types of aggregations. In this article, particular attention is given to the induced Minkowski ordered weighted averaging distance operator and the induced Minkowski probabilistic ordered weighted averaging distance operator. The main advantage of these operators is that they include a wide range of special cases. Thus, they can adapt efficiently to the specific needs of the calculation processes. By doing so, the reinsurance system can make better decisions by using different scenarios in the uncertain environment considered

    OWA-based aggregation operations in multi-expert MCDM model

    This paper presents an analysis of multi-expert multi-criteria decision making (ME-MCDM) model based on the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operators. Two methods of modeling the majority opinion are studied as to aggregate the experts' judgments, in which based on the induced OWA operators. Then, an overview of OWA with the inclusion of different degrees of importance is provided for aggregating the criteria. An alternative OWA operator with a new weighting method is proposed which termed as alternative OWAWA (AOWAWA) operator. Some extensions of ME-MCDM model with respect to two-stage aggregation processes are developed based on the classical and alternative schemes. A comparison of results of different decision schemes then is conducted. Moreover, with respect to the alternative scheme, a further comparison is given for different techniques in integrating the degrees of importance. A numerical example in the selection of investment strategy is used as to exemplify the model and for the analysis purpose

    Social network decision making with linguistic trustworthiness based induced OWA operators

The publisher's version of record can be found by following the DOI link.Classic aggregation operators in group decision making such as the OWA, IOWA, C-IOWA, P-IOWA and I-IOWA have shown to be successful tools in order to provide flexibility in the aggregation of preferences. However, these operators do not take advantage of information related to the interaction between experts. Experts involved in a group decision making problem may have developed opinions about the reliability of other experts' judgements, either because they have previous history of interaction with each other or because they have knowledge that informs them on the reliability of other colleagues in the group in solving decision making problems in the past. In this paper, and within the framework of social network decision making, we present three new social network analysis based IOWA operators that take advantage of the linguistic trustworthiness information gathered from the experts' social network to aggregate the social group preferences. Their use is analysed with simple but illustrative examples

    Induced and logarithmic distances with multi-region aggregation operators

This paper introduces the induced ordered weighted logarithmic averaging IOWLAD and multiregion induced ordered weighted logarithmic averaging MR-IOWLAD operators. The distinctive characteristic of these operators lies in the notion of distance measures combined with the complex reordering mechanism of inducing variables and the properties of the logarithmic averaging operators. The main advantage of MR-IOWLAD operators is their design, which is specifically thought to aid in decision-making when a set of diverse regions with different properties must be considered. Moreover, the induced weighting vector and the distance measure mechanisms of the operator allow for the wider modeling of problems, including heterogeneous information and the complex attitudinal character of experts, when aiming for an ideal scenario. Along with analyzing the main properties of the IOWLAD operators, their families and specific cases, we also introduce some extensions, such as the induced generalized ordered weighted averaging IGOWLAD operator and Choquet integrals. We present the induced Choquet logarithmic distance averaging ICLD operator and the generalized induced Choquet logarithmic distance averaging IGCLD operator. Finally, an illustrative example is proposed, including real-world information retrieved from the United Nations World Statistics for global regions

    This study proposes, through weighted averages and ordered weighted averaging operators, a new aggregation system for the investigation of average gases emissions. We present the ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions, the induced ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions, the weighted ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions and the induced probabilistic weighted ordered weighted averaging operators gases emissions. These operators represent a new way of analyzing the average gases emissions of different variables like countries or regions. The work presents further generalizations by using generalized and quasi-arithmetic means. The article also presents an illustrative example with respect to the calculations of the average gases emissions in the European region

    We study the induced aggregation operators. The analysis begins with a revision of some basic concepts such as the induced ordered weighted averaging (IOWA) operator and the induced ordered weighted geometric (IOWG) operator. We then analyze the problem of decision making with Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence. We suggest the use of induced aggregation operators in decision making with Dempster-Shafer theory. We focus on the aggregation step and examine some of its main properties, including the distinction between descending and ascending orders and different families of induced operators.     A Consensus Approach to the Sentiment Analysis Problem Driven by Support-Based IOWA Majority

    In group decision making, there are many situations where the opinion of the majority of participants is critical. The scenarios could be multiple, like a number of doctors finding commonality on the diagnose of an illness or parliament members looking for consensus on an specific law being passed. In this article, we present a method that utilizes induced ordered weighted averaging (IOWA) operators to aggregate a majority opinion from a number of sentiment analysis (SA) classification systems, where the latter occupy the role usually taken by human decision-makers as typically seen in group decision situations. In this case, the numerical outputs of different SA classification methods are used as input to a specific IOWA operator that is semantically close to the fuzzy linguistic quantifier ‘most of’. The object of the aggregation will be the intensity of the previously determined sentence polarity in such a way that the results represent what the majority think. During the experimental phase, the use of the IOWA operator coupled with the linguistic quantifier ‘most’ (math formula) proved to yield superior results compared to those achieved when utilizing other techniques commonly applied when some sort of averaging is needed, such as arithmetic mean or median techniques
