This research focuses on exploring learners' language, especially the errors that are performed by the English learners. The subjects of this study are two adolescent students who have been learning English since early age. The data analyzed is collected by doing the interview session. Identification and classification are done toward the errors performed by the subjects. After that, the pattern is drawn to find out the subjects' nature of language. The result shows that both interlanguage and intralanguage affect the students' English. However, interlanguage affects the errors more than does intralanguage. It proves that the nature of L1 affects the L2 acquisition. The errors occurred in terms of subject-verb agreement, tenses, and relative clause. At the end, the appropriate feedback given to speaking performance is implicit correction such as recast and prompts

Interlanguage theory is naturally a constantly evolving theory, having changed considerably since its initial formulation. It is, therefore, not an easy task to produce an accurate account of the theory. The aim of this article is basically to provide a brief and composite account of the interlanguage theory. In so doing, some crucial issues are accordingly viewed: (1) error analysis, (2) stages of interlanguage development, (3) Interlanguage transfer, (4) fossilization, (5) input hypothesis, (6) and pidginization fossilization, I ginization as well. There is in fact considerable disagreement about how best to characterize the nature of an interlanguage system. Nevertheless, this principle is able to account for insights provided byform-function analysis

Yuwanti, Cahyaning, Maulida. 2014. Error Analysis on the Argumentative Essays Written by the Fourth Semester Students of Study Program of English, Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya. Study Program of English, Department of Languages and Literature Faculty of Cultural Studies Universitas Brawijaya. Supervisor: Endang Sasanti, Co – supervisor: Istiqomah Wulandari. Keywords: error analysis, surface strategy taxonomy.Error analysis is an analysis on error in an essay of an essay in terms of grammar, verb omission, noun addition, etc. Almost every language learner who writes an essay makes error, so do the fourth semester students of the English Department. In this study the researcher analyzed errors in the argumentative essays written by them and the problems were : 1) The errors found in the argumentative essay by the fourth semester students of English Department of Faculty of Cultural Studies of Brawijaya University. 2) The types of errors found in the argumentative essay by the fourth semester students of English Department Students of Faculty of Cultural Studies of Brawijaya University. A qualitative approach was employed in this research. The data used by the researcher in this study were 30 students' argumentative essays from the English Department, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya in which the topic was decided by their lecturer. The data used were taken directly by the researcher from their class. All kinds of errors mentioned by Dulay in the surface strategy taxonomy were made by the students, but the researcher found that the error mostly made was misformation (Mf) with 127 errors (44%) especially misformation of “be”. Other mistakes made were omission (Om) with 95 errors (33%), then addition (Ad) with 57 errors (20%), and the last is misordering (Md) with 9 errors (3%). It can be concluded that when producing a written work like an essay, the students focused on the content more than on grammar. Misformation errors were made the most because in Bahasa Indonesia as the L1, the structure like ‘be' or regular and irregular past tense verbs are not significant or not found. Therefore, the students have to learn them as new knowledge. This needs time and it seems that studying them for four semesters is not enough. It is suggested that students give more time for studying grammar and its application

This research is designed to analyze students' error on essay writing organization. The writers focus on the one category of error identifications that is organization. By conducting this research, the writers hope some development of students' ability in arranging essay. By analazing the erros, students get feed back to develop their ability. This study was conducted descriptively and qualitatively in nature. It is designed to identify and to describe kinds of errors is made by the student in essay writing organization in the EFL classroom. To achieve the goal, the writers describe in detail all the data taken from the students' works and interpreted to make an empirical generalization. This research was conducted in second grade of English department in one of the university in Cirebon. The writers use purposive random sampling. The result of findings show that 16 students stand in scale 3 which is equal with 64 %. Then, 7 students stand in scale 4 which is equal with 28 %. And the last, 2 students stand in scale 2 which is equal with 8 %. So that, the writer concluded that the students of second grade of UNSWAGATI Cirebon are adequate to fair on essay writing organization. Key words: error, writing, essay organizatio

    Beta systems error analysis

The atmospheric backscatter coefficient, beta, measured with an airborne CO Laser Doppler Velocimeter (LDV) system operating in a continuous wave, focussed model is discussed. The Single Particle Mode (SPM) algorithm, was developed from concept through analysis of an extensive amount of data obtained with the system on board a NASA aircraft. The SPM algorithm is intended to be employed in situations where one particle at a time appears in the sensitive volume of the LDV. In addition to giving the backscatter coefficient, the SPM algorithm also produces as intermediate results the aerosol density and the aerosol backscatter cross section distribution. A second method, which measures only the atmospheric backscatter coefficient, is called the Volume Mode (VM) and was simultaneously employed. The results of these two methods differed by slightly less than an order of magnitude. The measurement uncertainties or other errors in the results of the two methods are examined

Error Analysis of Modified Langevin Dynamics

We consider Langevin dynamics associated with a modified kinetic energy vanishing for small momenta. This allows us to freeze slow particles, and hence avoid the re-computation of inter-particle forces, which leads to computational gains. On the other hand, the statistical error may increase since there are a priori more correlations in time. The aim of this work is first to prove the ergodicity of the modified Langevin dynamics (which fails to be hypoelliptic), and next to analyze how the asymptotic variance on ergodic averages depends on the parameters of the modified kinetic energy. Numerical results illustrate the approach, both for low-dimensional systems where we resort to a Galerkin approximation of the generator, and for more realistic systems using Monte Carlo simulations
