Robots socials. Un punt de trobada entre ciència i ficció

Els robots industrials i els androides de la ciència-ficció, tan diferents fins ara, comencen a confluir gràcies al ràpid desenvolupament de la robòtica social. Atesa la creixent necessitat de mà d’obra en el sector assistencial i de serveis, s’estan dissenyant robots que puguin interaccionar amb les persones, ja sigui atenent a discapacitats i gent gran, fent de recepcionistes o dependents en centres comercials, i àdhuc actuant de mestres de reforç o mainaderes. En aquest context, proliferen les iniciatives per facilitar la inspiració mútua entre tecnociència i humanitats. Qüestions ètiques com la influència de les mainaderes robòtiques sobre el psiquisme infantil, abans tractades en obres literàries, són ara debatudes en fòrums científics

Social robots : a meeting point between science and fiction

Industrial robots and androids in science fiction were worlds apart until recently, but now begin to merge with the rapid development of social robotics. Given the growing need for labour in the healthcare and service sectors, robots are being designed to interact with the disabled and elderly people, or to take the place of receptionists or shop assistants in shopping malls, or even to act as support teachers or nannies. Within this context, efforts have grown to facilitate mutual inspiration between techno-science and humanities. Ethical issues such as the influence of robotic nannies on child psyche, previously within the realms of literary works, are now being discussed in scientific forums.Postprint (published version
