PENGEMBANGAN MODUL METODE PROYEK UNTUK MENGETAHUI KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS (KPS) SISWA PADA LARUTAN ELEKTROLIT DAN NON ELEKTROLIT
This study was conducted to develop a project method module on the subject of electrolyte and non – electrolyte solution, to assess the quality of the module based on the experts suggestions, to get the teacher and student responses to the project method module, and know the KPS based student learning styles and the role project method module. The study was conducted in three schools in Banda Aceh (SMA Negeri 11, SMA Negeri 10 Fajar Harapan, and SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh) by using quantitative research with research methods of and development (R and D). The design of this study is Pre-test and Post-test Group. Experts assessment for the quality of module shows a score of 4.21 (good), the results showed that 90.67% teachers and 80.68% students responded positively to the module. Hypothesis testing is done toward the pretest and posttest data based on students from three schools with a significant level of 0.05%. The result from pretest data using Mann-Whiteney (U test) have a few different although it did not differ significantly. The result from posttest data using the t test are not significantly. The role of the modul was based on the seen average value of students KPS posttest in three schools which is 72.19 with the criteria of "good" when using project method of chemitry module
STUDI FORMULASI SEDIAN MASKER PEEL OFF DARI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN BELIMBING WULUH (Averrhoa blimbi L.)
ABSTRACT The leaves of Starfruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) contain active anti-acne compounds. This study aims to determine the study of the ethanol extract formulation of starfruit leaves as a peel off mask. The research method is experimental. Evaluation of peel off mask preparation included organoleptic observation (smell and color), and irritation test for volunteers. This research was conducted at the Chemical Laboratory of AKAFARMA Banda Aceh and the FKIP Kimia Unsyiah laboratory. The sample used was a peel off mask with four formulas, namely blank (F0), a formula with the addition of 7% (FI), 9% (FII), and 11% (FIII) ethanol extract concentrations. The results showed that all peel off mask formulas were homogeneous. The observation result of the peel off mask showed that the color and smell of the mask preparation did not change for 4 weeks of storage at room temperature. The color for F0 is colorless (clear) while the formula for FI and FII is light brown and FIII is dark brown. The smell for F0 smells of ethanol while FI, FII, and FIII have a distinctive smell, namely the smell of starfruit leaves. This shows that the resulting peel off mask is stable. The peel-off mask did not irritate the skin of 12 volunteers. PENGARUH SUHU DAN WAKTU EKSTRAKSI TERHADAP KAFEIN DALAM KOPI
This study was conducted to determine the effect of temperature and time on the acquisition of caffeine content in coffee by UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. The study was conducted in the AKAFARMA Laboratory of YHB Banda Aceh and the Chemical Laboratory of FMIPA Unsyiah. The sample in this study is Arabica coffee powder produced by Solong Ulee Kareng which was intentionally taken. The results showed that based on temperature, the lowest caffeine content was found at 50 °C immersion temperature, which was 0.0275 mg/g and the highest level was at 100 °C soaking temperature, which was 0.181 mg/g. Whereas, based on the time when the highest caffeine content is found at 1 hour immersion at 50 °C was about 0.0675 mg/g, at 1 hour immersion at 70 °C was about 0.0862 mg/g, and at 1 hour immersion at 100 °C was about 0.181 mg/g. The temperature and extraction time have influenced on caffeine levels in Arabica coffee. The longer the time and the higher the extraction temperature, the more extracted caffeine could be found
STUDY OF BENGKUANG MASK FORMULATION (Pachyrhizus erosus L) WITH ETHANOL EXTRACT OF SWEET POTATO LEAVES (Ipomoea batatas L) AS ANTIOXIDANT
The leaves of purple sweet potato or purple yam contain compounds that are essential and provide a good benefits for human health such as vitamins, protein, calcium, iron, beta-carotene, and etc. As antioxidant source, it can be added as an active compounds to mask which mostly used in this era. The present study aims to prepare and characterize the mask prepared using bengkuang or Jicama/Mexican turnip as basic mask, combined with an ethanol extract of sweet potato eaves as antioxidant. Mask formulation was made by the experimental method. The face mask formulation was made by mixing three ingredients namely bengkuang powder, ethanol extract of purple sweet potato and real honey. The organoleptic test, irritation test and preference test (probandus) were used to characterized three as-prepared masks (F1, F2, and F3). The results showed that the liquid (F1) and semi-solid (F2 and F3) masks, ethanol extract of purple sweet potato leaves provides an additional aroma to the as prepared mask in wich the F3 mask has the best aroma compared to the other mask. In irritation testing, no irritation occurred after 2 weeks for the 3 formulas that were made. The subsequent studies are changes in facial skin after wearing a mask for 2 weeks, the face felt every probandus face becomes a little more moist and smoother. FORMULASI SEDIAAN GEL HAND SANITIZER DARI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN BELIMBING WULUH (AVERHOA BLIMBI L.) KOMBINASI GEL LIDAH BUAYA (ALOE VERA)
Hand sanitizer gel merupakan pembersih tangan berbentuk gel yang berguna untuk membersihkan atau menghilangkan kuman pada tangan. Hand sanitizer dapat dibuat dari daun belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) kombinasi daun lidah buaya (Aloe vera) karena mengandung senyawa antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formulasi hand sanitizer ekstrak etanol daun belimbing wuluh kombinasi gel lidah buaya dengan variasi konsentrasi F0(0%), F1(1%), F2(2%), dan F3(3%) serta mengetahui mutu fisiknya. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 4 sediaan formulasi gel hand sanitizer ekstrak etanol daun belimbing wuluh kombinasi gel lidah buaya yaitu F0, F1, F2, dan F3. Pengujian dilakukan pada hari ke 1, 7 dan 14. Hasil pemeriksaan mutu fisik hand sanitizer pada keempat sediaan adalah homogen, warna yang dihasilkan tetap stabil, berbentuk gel dan berbau khas ekstrak daun belimbing wuluh. Hasil uji pH semua sedian memenuhi syarat yaitu 4-10. Semua sedian juga memenuhi syarat viskositas gel. Hasil uji iritasi sedian untuk F0, F1, dan F3 tidak menyebabkan iritasi namun sediaan F2 menyebabkan iritasi salah satu sukarelawan. Hasil uji daya sebar semua sedian juga memenuhi syarat yaitu yaitu 5-7. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa formulasi hand sanitizer ekstrak etanol daun belimbing wuluh kombinasi daun lidah buaya dengan variasi konsentrasi F0(0%), F1(1%), F2(2%), dan F3(3%) memiliki mutu fisik yang baik. Â
THE FORMULATION OF PEEL-OFF MASK FROM THE ETHANOL EXTRACT OF BILIMBI LEAVES (Averrhoa blimbi L.) AS ANTI-ACNE TREATMENT
This research aims to formulate and assess the efficacy of the peel-off mask as an anti-acne of ethanol extract from bilimbi leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.). The method used was an experiment, evaluating the extract through the inhibition test of Staphylococcus epidermis bacteria with the paper disk diffusion method. The peel-off mask formulation added the extract with a concentration of 7% (F1), 9% (F2), 11% (F3), and without using extract (F0). The Peel-off mask preparation testing includes the detection of scents, colours, irritation checks, and the determination of peel-off anti-acne mask efficacy. This study was carried out at Akafarma of Banda Aceh and the Chemistry laboratory of FKIP Unsyiah. The findings of the inhibition zone for Staphylococcus epidermis bacteria at extract concentrations of 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% were 15 mm, 12 mm, 11 mm and 10 mm, respectively. The four peel-off mask formulas were gel, homogeneous, brown, with the distinctive scent of bilimbi leaves, and did not irritate the volunteers’ skin. The average decline in acne before and after using the mask for any formula (F0, FI, FII, and FIII) was 19.64%, 22.63%, 28.75% and 50%, respectively. PENGEMBANGAN MODUL METODE PROYEK UNTUK MENGETAHUI KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS (KPS) BERDASARKAN GAYA BELAJAR SISWA PADA LARUTAN ELEKTROLIT DAN NON ELEKTROLIT
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan modul metode proyek pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit, menilai kualitas modul berdasarkan masukan para ahli, meminta tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap modul metode proyek, dan  mengetahui KPS berdasarkan gaya belajar siswa serta peranan modul metode proyek. Penelitian dilakukan di tiga sekolah kota Banda Aceh (SMAN 11, SMAN 10 Fajar Harapan, dan SMAN 5 Banda Aceh) dengan menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian reasearch and development (R and D). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Pre –test and Post-test Group. Modul telah dikembangkan melalui model ADDIE. Penilaian ahli untuk kualitas modul menunjukkan skor sebesar 4,21 (baik), hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa 90,67% guru dan 80,68% siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap modul. Uji hipotesis dilakukan pada data pretest dan posttest berdasarkan gaya belajar siswa dari tiga sekolah dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 %. Data pretest menggunakan uji Mann-Whiteney (Uji U) hasilnya ada yang berbeda dan tidak berbeda secara signifikan. Data posttest menggunakan uji t hasilnya sebagian besar tidak berbeda secara sigifikan kecuali gaya belajar kinestetik siswa SMAN 10 Fajar Harapan dan SMAN 5 Banda Aceh yang berbeda secara signifikan. Peranan modul dilihat berdasarkan perolehan nilai rata-rata postest KPS siswa ditiga sekolah yaitu sebesar 72,19 dengan kriteria “baik” dan siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik yang mendapat nilai rata-rata KPS tertinggi dengan menggunakan modul kimia
