Modulation of ConA-induced inflammatory ascites by histamine — Short communication
The early phase of the ConA-induced inflammatory ascites was studied, with special reference to histamine. Concanavalin A (ConA), a cell-surface binding lectin was injected i.p. (25 mg/kg bw) to mice. After 1 h the animals were killed, the ascitic fluid collected and measured. Other agents were injected s.c., 10 min before the ConA-challenge. Exogenous histamine markedly inhibited the ConA-induced ascites. Release of endogenous vasoactive agents from the mast cells by Compound 48/80 had a similar, but slight effect. Cromolyn, a mast cell stabilizing agent, and chloropyramine, a histamine H1 receptor antagonist was ineffective. Although histamine increases endothelial permeability, it did not enhance the formation of ascitic fluid, on the contrary, it inhibited the ConA-induced ascites, presumably due to its known hypotonic effect. It is concluded that ConA-induced ascites is not mediated by mast cell histamine
Gauge Orbit Types for Theories with Classical Compact Gauge Group
We determine the orbit types of the action of the group of local gauge
transformations on the space of connections in a principal bundle with
structure group O(n), SO(n) or over a closed, simply connected manifold
of dimension 4. Complemented with earlier results on U(n) and SU(n) this
completes the classification of the orbit types for all classical compact gauge
groups over such space-time manifolds. On the way we derive the classification
of principal bundles with structure group SO(n) over these manifolds and the
Howe subgroups of SO(n).Comment: 57 page
The Topological B-model on a Mini-Supertwistor Space and Supersymmetric Bogomolny Monopole Equations
In the recent paper hep-th/0502076, it was argued that the open topological
B-model whose target space is a complex (2|4)-dimensional mini-supertwistor
space with D3- and D1-branes added corresponds to a super Yang-Mills theory in
three dimensions. Without the D1-branes, this topological B-model is equivalent
to a dimensionally reduced holomorphic Chern-Simons theory. Identifying the
latter with a holomorphic BF-type theory, we describe a twistor correspondence
between this theory and a supersymmetric Bogomolny model on R^3. The connecting
link in this correspondence is a partially holomorphic Chern-Simons theory on a
Cauchy-Riemann supermanifold which is a real one-dimensional fibration over the
mini-supertwistor space. Along the way of proving this twistor correspondence,
we review the necessary basic geometric notions and construct action
functionals for the involved theories. Furthermore, we discuss the geometric
aspect of a recently proposed deformation of the mini-supertwistor space, which
gives rise to mass terms in the supersymmetric Bogomolny equations. Eventually,
we present solution generating techniques based on the developed twistorial
description together with some examples and comment briefly on a twistor

Entanglement and Quantum Phase Transitions via Adiabatic Quantum Computation
For a finite XY chain and a finite two-dimensional Ising lattice, it is shown
that the paramagnetic ground state is adiabatically transformed to the GHZ
state in the ferromagnetic phase by slowly turning on the magnetic field. The
fidelity between the GHZ state and an adiabatically evolved state shows a
feature of the quantum phase transition.Comment: Revise
Exploring morphological correlations among H2CO, 12CO, MSX and continuum mappings
There are relatively few H2CO mappings of large-area giant molecular cloud
(GMCs). H2CO absorption lines are good tracers for low-temperature molecular
clouds towards star formation regions. Thus, the aim of the study was to
identify H2CO distributions in ambient molecular clouds. We investigated
morphologic relations among 6-cm continuum brightness temperature (CBT) data
and H2CO (111-110; Nanshan 25-m radio telescope), 12CO (1--0; 1.2-m CfA
telescope) and midcourse space experiment (MSX) data, and considered the impact
of background components on foreground clouds. We report simultaneous 6-cm H2CO
absorption lines and H110\alpha radio recombination line observations and give
several large-area mappings at 4.8 GHz toward W49 (50'\times50'), W3
(70'\times90'), DR21/W75 (60'\times90') and NGC2024/NGC2023 (50'\times100')
GMCs. By superimposing H2CO and 12CO contours onto the MSX color map, we can
compare correlations. The resolution for H2CO, 12CO and MSX data was about 10',
8' and 18.3", respectively. Comparison of H2CO and 12CO contours, 8.28-\mu m
MSX colorscale and CBT data revealed great morphological correlation in the
large area, although there are some discrepancies between 12CO and H2CO peaks
in small areas. The NGC2024/NGC2023 GMC is a large area of HII regions with a
high CBT, but a H2CO cloud to the north is possible against the cosmic
microwave background. A statistical diagram shows that 85.21% of H2CO
absorption lines are distributed in the intensity range from -1.0 to 0 Jy and
the \Delta V range from 1.206 to 5 km/s.Comment: 18 pages, 22 figures, 5 tables. Accepted to be published in

Stability of circular orbits of spinning particles in Schwarzschild-like space-times
Circular orbits of spinning test particles and their stability in
Schwarzschild-like backgrounds are investigated. For these space-times the
equations of motion admit solutions representing circular orbits with particles
spins being constant and normal to the plane of orbits. For the de Sitter
background the orbits are always stable with particle velocity and momentum
being co-linear along them. The world-line deviation equations for particles of
the same spin-to-mass ratios are solved and the resulting deviation vectors are
used to study the stability of orbits. It is shown that the orbits are stable
against radial perturbations. The general criterion for stability against
normal perturbations is obtained. Explicit calculations are performed in the
case of the Schwarzschild space-time leading to the conclusion that the orbits
