    Asean Community 2015 mandates a single market and production base shall comprise 5 core elements: 1) free flow of goods; 2) free flow of services; 3) free flow of investment; 4) free flow of capital; and 5) free flow of skilled labour. In addition, the single market and production base also include two important components, namely, the priority integration sectors, and food, agriculture and forestry. The family business in Muhammadiyah need to strengthen to increase the power of the moslem community encounter to ASEAN Community 2015. Considering the five basic elements and the two major component in the ASEAN single and production market is not a power of Muhammadiyah community yet. Meanwhile, the strength of Muhammadiyah business lies in the family business of Muhammadiyah members.     To avoid the pattern of laissez-faire leadership at the head of Muhammadiyah schools required the application of trans-formational leadership pattern. This is supported by a study evaluating the effect of Authentic Transformational Leader-ship behaviors of Emotional Intelligence by intervening variable: Value congruence, Trust and Respect for teachers and employees in Muhammadiyah schools. The sample used in this study were 66 employees and 125 teachers. The results show that the behavior Authentic Transformational Leadership have a significant influence on Emotional Intelligence directly. Significant influence is also shown intervening variables: value congruence (posi-tive), Trust (negative) and Respect (negative)

    The role of family business the economy are enormous, both in term of contribution in GNP and employment. Many world class companies such as motorla, Nordstrom, Bakrie, Gudang Garam maintain as a family business even though they have been going public in the capital markets. Perception of the global community is more like  men as a manager and controller of the business than women. Male primogenitur is the adagium to describe how men are very dominant in the business world. In the USA and South Korea man is the successor of the family business. Japan rejected the role of women in the family business so that all inheritance fell on one of the sons. In China, the company inherited fell on the whole boys shared equality. In Turkey, female successor only 4.2%. Nevertheles, quite a lot of women who own the company. In USA there are 8 million women-owned family business, in Japan 23%, Australia 33%, Canada 31%, Mexico 16%, and Netherlands 15%. The imbalance in gender equity and equality in the family business was global perceived. In Indonesia takes efforts to open wider access for Indonesian women in the domain corporate management, expand the participation of women, increase the role of controlling, adding to the usefulness in the management of family business that have sustainable resilience in the face of global competition. Key-words: family business, gender, male primogeniture

    BUSINESS ETHICS FOR BUSINESS SUSTAINABILITY IN MUHAMMADIYAH HOSPITAL: EVIDENCE FROM PONOROGO, INDONESIA

    The purpose of this study is to examine how business ethics can support business sustainability in hospitals. Business ethics is associated with: Hospital professional ethics, medical professional ethics, professional accounting ethics, and Islamic business ethics. This study used a qualitative approach with phenomenological analysis techniques to process the data collected from key informants, through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with 20 supervisors, in-depth interviews with six members of the management, 11 outside observations, and documentation over a period of six months. The business ethics theory was used to guide the research’s findings. The business sustainability theory was used to find the relationship of the research’s findings with the opinions of four expert informants for the purpose of triangulation on the reasons for conducting Islamic business ethics for a sustainable business. The finding of this study is the reason for running the hospital ethically. The finding of this study can be used to redesign the vision and mission of the hospital as a basis for achieving better performance. The implication of the finding of this research is the need for business ethics in the design of internal systems

Meskipun pemasyarakatan ekonomi syariah itu telah dimulai tahun 1992, sejak berdirinya Bank Muamalat Indonesia. Dan kemudian diperkuat dengan diundangkannya UU No 23 tahun 1999 dan terbitnya Fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) tentang keharaman bunga bank konvesnional, yang merupakan fondasi perbankan syariah. Namun kontribusi perbankan syariah terhadap perbankan nasional masih kecil, 1,8% dari Assets. Demikian pula share asuransi syariah, pasar  modal syariah, pegadaian syariah, masih sangat kecil. Untuk mempercepat  penerapan ekonomi syariah diperlukan upaya-upaya sistemik dan mendasar yang diharapkan dapat membentuk pola pikir dan perilaku syariah sebelum memasuki dunia kerja bahkan semenjak sekolah dasar.      Researcher wanted to examine in detail the implementation of qardh and murabahah agreement in the transfer of financing (take over) conducted by PT. BPRS Mandiri Mitra Sukses Gresik Indonesia, to answer the question : How the implementation of qardh and murabahah agreement on the transfer financing practices in BPRS Mandiri Mitra Sukses Gresik ?, What is the difference of the implementation of qardh and murabahah agreement on the transfer financing practices in BPRS Mandiri Mitra Sukses Gresik ?, What are the constraints and supporting factors in the implementation of qardh and murabahah agreement ?In answering these problems used the type of qualitative research. The data collection techniques used in this study through methods of observation, interview (interview), and documentation. The data collected was compiled and analyzed using inductive thinking namely the mindset based on the facts in the field about the practice of taking over between the Conventional Financial Institution (LKK) and the bank of the Sharia Financial Institution (LKS), then linked with the qardh and murabahah theory in application take over.The result of the research that in the implementation of qardh and murabahah agreement in the transfer of financing with the purpose of taking over or transfer of financing at Bank Partners Syariah that is by the customer coming to Bank Partners Sharia to apply for taking over financing.The constraints of the implementation of qardh and murabahah agreement included the possibility of bad debts from customers and the history of customer data in SID BI that sometimes can hamper the implementation of taking over. While the supporting factors in the implementation of qardh and murabahah agreement included many fanatic customers to sharia, thus increasing the number of customers used sharia bank services, the products provided in the form of additional business capital, and ease of payment. Key words: utang piutang, take over, akad, the economic laws of Sharia

    This study aimed to identify business ethics practiced in hospital-based religious values as the basisfor designing the vision and mission. Designing was done by discussing business ethics found inthis research with the ethical and moral conceptsof Islam and Muhammadiyah. This research wasconducted at Muhammadiyah hospital. This studyused a qualitative approach to the phenomenological analysis techniques to process data collected through in-depth interview, outside observation, and relevant documentation. In-depth interviews carried out ten times for eleven key informants. Focus Group Discussion held twice for twenty-one executive employees. Observation wasdone for eleven times over a period of six months, including observation and interviews with tencustomers. Triangulation process is done by presenting the opinion of prominent figures in Muhammadiyah through his writing in several books onthe values of Muhammadiyah including basicideological struggle of the Muhammadiyah founder KH Ahmad Dahlan. Similarly, the theory ofIslamic Business Ethics findings are used to guide the Vision, Mission and then business ethicspracticed by the management and employees of Muhammadiyah Hospital

    The aim of this paper is to determine the role of succession planning as part of economic education in improving family business performance. Research carried out by using qualitative approach with in-depth interview and outside observation as a technique. The data source is owner of 3 family businesses (6 peoples) as key informants and 6 experts as expertise informants. The data were processed using content analysis. The finding of this research is business start-up from own money and saving and from human capital on entrepreneurship that learn from family; succession planning are necessary but not easy; succession planning conduct after family business growth bigger; succession planning can improve family business performance; economic education in family can make succession planning in family business smoothly. The implication of these finding is need for economic education implemented in the family business, besides the necessary expansion of economic education in society, school and formal level with more focus to the family business
