The Current Adoption of Dry-Direct Seeding Rice (DDSR) in Thailand and Lessons Learned for Mekong River Delta of Vietnam

The paper documents the joint study trip, organized by CCAFS Southeast Asia for Vietnamese rice researchers, extension workers, as well as local decision makers, to visit Thailand in April 2018. The goal of the study trip was to observe and learn the experience of Thai farmers on the large-scale adoption process of dry-direct seeding rice (DDSR), a viable alternative to address regional scarcity of fresh water in irrigation caused by the drought and salinity intrusion in the Mekong River Delta

TRANSFORMING EXTENDED ENTITY-RELATIONSHIP MODEL INTO OWL ONTOLOGY IN TEMPORAL DATABASES

Many previous systems were built based on the ER model, so the upgrading and transforming the ER model into ontology for reducing cost is really necessary. There are several studies aim at transforming from ER and EER model into ontology. However, these studies have not classified the semantic of the recursive relationship in ER model, so the semantic of the recursive relationship will be easily lost during the transformation. Also, the studies have not mentioned the designing of the ontology that supports temporal attributes based on the temporal ER model. This paper discusses the semantic classification of the recursive relationship and TimeER model (extended EER in temporal databases) and OWL ontology. And propose a method to transform into OWL ontology

Enhancing the organizational citizenship behavior for the environment: the roles of green training and organizational culture

The environmental concern has become an emerging topic in organization's human resource management strategy, especially in improving employee's environmental behavior at work Thus, the organizational citizenship behavior toward the environment (OCBE) has been currently attracting scholars in management. However, published studies contain research gaps in investigation of the relationships between both green training and organizational culture and OCBE, especially in the hotel industry. Following the social exchange and Ability-Motivation Opportunity theories, this study aims to examine the effects of two green practices on OCBE and the moderating role of green organizational culture to the effect of green training on OCBE. A quantitative approach with survey strategy is employed and conducted in 4-5 star hotels to test these relationships. The PLS-SEM and K-means Cluster Analysis techniques are applied to analyze data. The findings reveal that green training and organizational culture positively influence OCBE. Also, the effect of green training on OCBE is moderated by green organizational culture. Finally, our study provides limitations of research and further studies, and the implications for management practices concerned with improving employee's voluntary eco-behavior in the hotel industry.Internal Grant Agency of FaME TBU [IGA/FaME/2018/009

Factors Contributing to Academic Boredom among English-Major Students at Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Academic boredom can detrimentally impact students' motivation, engagement, and academic performance. Recognizing the challenges faced by English-major students at Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh city, the authors of this paper conducted a study to investigate the underlying factors contributing to academic boredom within this specific academic context. A quantitative research method was employed in the current study to investigate the antecedents of academic boredom among the English-majored students. The population of this study consists of 427 English language majors at Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A convenience sampling method was utilized. Correlation and regression analyses were used to explore the relationships between the antecedent factors and academic boredom among students. The findings reveal a combination of internal and external factors contributing to boredom. It was also found that the most common causes of boredom are the students’ attitude toward their learning and the university’s environment while no significant correlation was observed between the level of boredom and teaching contents, teaching methods and pedagogical style. Some implications concerning how to reduce EFL classroom boredom are also presented in this paper

Perforator Mapping of the Superficial and Deep Inferior Epigastric Artery in the Abdominal Region of the Vietnamese

BACKGROUND: Previous studies worldwide have investigated the anatomy of the perforators of the deep inferior epigastric arteries to figure out the navigation patterns of the perforators on the abdominal wall. This has been inconsistent amongst the researchers about how to select the perforator to increase the blood supply area for the flap. AIM: To explore the blood supply area of the perforators of the superficial and deep inferior epigastric artery in the abdominal region of the Vietnamese by dissection and 64-slice multislice computed tomography (64-slice MSCT). METHODS: A descriptive cross-sectional study Center from September 2014 to September 2016 on two groups including 30 cadavers fixed by formalin 10% in Anatomy Department of UPNT, and 37 patients getting the 64-slice MSCT abdominal arteries angiogram. RESULTS: The superficial epigastric arteries at the level of the inguinal ligament were located in the middle region, with 96% (right) and 88.5% (left). The anterior superior iliac spine level was in the middle, and lateral regions of 68% and 32% respectively. The level of the umbilical cord was in the lateral region with 66.7% and 85.7%, respectively. There were about 6 perforators of the deep inferior epigastric arteries located in the navel area. These perforators were 70% in the medial region and 30% in the middle region. CONCLUSION: Mapping the blood supply based on the fourth space in the abdominal region in which the superfical inferior epigastric arteries supplied the lateral area. The middle and the internal ones were the perforators of the deep inferior epigastric arteries

This clinical report presents a case of RC that condition derived from a primary molar undergone an endodontic treatment with gutta-percha approximately one year ago. Geotrophic and drift current in the South China Sea, Area IV: Vietnamese waters

The water circulation in area IV was calculated by 2 methods. The circulation for the area where water depth exceeded 600m was calculated by the geostrophic balance method. In shallow water area effect of wind absolutely surpasses geostrophic balance, so wind induced drift current is greater than geostrophic current many times. So, for the whole area (shallow deep) the drift current was calculated by two-dimensional nonlinear shallow water equation based on typical monsoon fields. SECURITY CAPABILITY ANALYSIS OF COGNITIVE RADIO NETWORK WITH SECONDARY USER CAPABLE OF JAMMING AND SELF-POWERING

This paper investigates a cognitive radio network where a secondary sender assists a primarytransmitter in relaying primary information to a primary receiver and also transmits its own information toa secondary recipient. This sender is capable of jamming to protect secondary and/or primary informationagainst an eavesdropper and self-powering by harvesting radio frequency energy of primary signals.Security capability of both secondary and primary networks are analyzed in terms of secrecy outageprobability. Numerous results corroborate the proposed analysis which serves as a design guidelineto quickly assess and optimize security performance. More importantly, security capability trade-offbetween secondary and primary networks can be totally controlled with appropriate selection of systemparameters
